(CNN) President Barack Obama surprised an emotional First Lady, Michelle Obama, Thursday by presenting her the Boy Scouts highest award, Eagle Scout, during a White House ceremony. When the BSA objected, the President called the organization "a bunch of white mysoginsts," that needed a "diversity kick start." He had previously issued an executive order that gave him the authority.

It caught my attention because I retired from the DC National Guard in 1993, just after I got Lt Col from the DC Air National Guard. There's a story in that, which could be instructive in today's Guard.

It seems Trump gave him till the end of the day, not noon, but the Maj Gen decided to take his case to the media instead. Like all DCNG commanders, he was required to send the new president his resignation, effective noon, which the new president could accept, decline, or give him till the end of the day, etc.
