You say tammarow, I say potato

A School Administrator Corrected a Student’s Spelling on Twitter. She Was Fired.

The student, "Nathan," tweeted "Close school tammarow PLEASE" at Frederick County Public Schools. Katie Nash, the district's social media director, replied "but then how would you learn to spell 'tomorrow'? :)" from the FCPS account.
District officials were not pleased. First, they instructed Nash to stop tweeting. Then they called her into a meeting and abruptly fired her, according to The Frederick News-Post:

The teacher was snarky, but in a cute way. I can only go back to my school days, when this event would have found it's way into Reader's Digest's as a bit of humor. My parents would applaud, and I would laugh.

EEO policies dictated to school boards, and administrators, left the brightest, most qualified, and elite of the EEO policies to dictate policy. Otherwise, the most ignorant are determining the fate of children through the education they're afforded.

Good teachers are bad, since they are a threat to the dumbassery that prevails at the top. Bad teachers, if they fall within the classification of disadvantaged, are kept to allow the districts to keep their spot at the federal trough.

I don't know how this will all turn out, but I do see a plethora of suckers available for plucking in the near future. The internet will be the stomping grounds of the newest of snake oils, and they will be available on all the shopping channels for a ridiculous price, plus shipping and handling.

Before January 2009 I would never have asked this question, but what race is little spelling-impaired Nathan?
