In 1984 O'Brien convinces Smith that 2+2=5. That's REgressivism in a nutshell, to be able to believe something that is so patently false as long as it confirms what they want to believe.
Like socialism works. Lower tax rates benefit only the rich. Public school teachers want the best for your children. Less guns mean less crime. I mean I could go on for an hour.
Go over to CommanDreams sometime and try to have a reasonable discussion about Venezuela. Or teacher's unions. Or the NHS. You Can Not Do It.
