The New News

ON WISCONSIN!

There is an upside to the media phenomenon where they slant news to suit a constituency, creating "new truth" along the way.   Let's  then congratulate the National Champion Wisconsin Badgers for whipping  the Duke Blue Devils last night.  How sweet is was to see Mike Krzyzewski arrested after he punched a Wisconsin Coach in the head.

Young stars bare it all to prove ‘maturity’

Young stars bare it all to prove 'maturity'

“   High School Musical” star Ashely Tisdale wants to shed her Disney-darling persona, and unsurprisingly decided posing nude would be a good way to do it. Tisdale is the latest addition ...

Fuel Fuel Everywhere,But Not a Drop To ...

East Texas Natural Gas
Could Fuel U.S. For 150 Years

“ A newly discovered natural gas shale in East Texas could help fuel America's appetite for energy, providing a plentiful source and potential $1.75 trillion economic impact for the area.

In some ways the potential benefits of tapping into the Haynesville Shale are like that of a “Jed Clampitt” rags-to-riches scenario, according to one energy expert.

Comprising about 3.5 million acres, the shale contains enough natural gas to power the United States for about 150 years.

And it's in portions of East Texas and Louisiana.

“We are the Saudi Arabia of natural gas,” said Ernie LaFlure, vice president and general manager of EOG Resources. “The Haynesville Shale is among the top five in the world — I think it's the greatest story of natural gas today.” [More from Tyler Texas]

”
Coming into the new year there were numerous stories in these parts that natural gas was in abundant supply and prices would be way down.  So what happened to that?

The Dow Jones closed over nine thousand Thursday on news that President Obama's health industry takeover had stalled. The Dow goes up as the president's approval ratings fall. The day his birth certificate shows up it'll close at fourteen thousand.  -- Argus Hamilton

Huntley Brown

The best reason of all
“

By Huntley Brown
I can't vote black because I am black I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first black second.  Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I wont be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I know Jesus and accepted him as Lord and savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King's words don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record.

His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing.

Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years.

Economic Outlook

Good news for America is ...

Kim il Toit has a very good economic summary posted, and this is your reason to read it.
“

This has got to be annoying the journos at the Washington Post and New York Times (I’d have added the LA Times, but I don’t know if a. they have any journos left on staff or b. they ever employed any actual journos in the first place).

The reasons for our pinko journos [some redundancy] to be annoyed are threefold:

Iraq Success

Maliki's Southern Strategy
In other times, this would spawn a dozen news stories by a media grateful for American success. In other times.
“

Even the most diehard Iraq hawks want to reduce the U.S. military footprint in Iraq and lean more heavily on Iraqi Security Forces to do the hard work of defeating insurgents and sectarian militias. Which is why recent developments in Basra have been so encouraging. At first, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's decision to confront Moqtada al-Sadr's Iranian-backed militas looked like a major strategic misstep. Now it appears to have transformed Iraqi politics, potentially paving the way for real reconciliation between Sunni and Shia. [more]

Oil, and more Oil

Massive Oil Deposit Could Increase US reserves by 10x
Sierra Club: "Where? We'll put a stop to that talk."

“ America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America’s Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC’s short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant.

In the next 30 days the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) will release a new report giving an accurate resource assessment of the Bakken Oil Formation that covers North Dakota and portions of South Dakota and Montana. With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951.  [story]
