USA Today reports that “the Army's patch features crossed scimitars, a palm wreath and stars. The scimitars, short swords with curved blades, are meant to symbolize the twin goals of the U.S.-led coalition: to defeat the Islamic State, also referred to as ISIL, and to restore stability in the region, according to Army documents. The palm wreath is symbol of honor. While the stars and the buff-and-blue colors on the patch indicate the three-star command and the land, air and sea forces involved in the fight.” Sure. Whatever. Would blacks vote for Obama if he was white?

Black Racism   If Barack Obama wasn’t black, would black voters support him? That's a question Rev. C.L. Bryant, a former chapter president of the National Association for the  NAACP is asking in his movie “Runaway Slave."  We won't know what impact Black leaders like Bryant have had until November 7th.  If Obama received appreciably less than the de rigueur 113% of the Black vote, they will have made progress, and there's hope. Okay, what really think.  Blacks, along with the rest of the dependent class Liberals have been constructing since 1965, would vote for  Joe Stalin if he ran as a Democrat (and he does). You know it; I know it.  Dammit.  We appreciate your effort though Rev. Bryant.

The tipping point for the White House appeared to be Jones' admission earlier this week that he had signed a petition in 2004 calling for congressional hearings and an investigation by the New York Attorney General into "evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur." In a statement issued Thursday evening Jones said of "the petition that was circulated today, I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever." An administration source said Jones says he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name. But after that admission, asked if Jones enjoyed the confidence of the president, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs would only say on Friday that Jones "continues to work in this administration." A former civil rights activist in the San Francisco area, Jones told the East Bay Express in 2005 that the acquittal of Rodney King's assailants in 1992 in that infamous police brutality case changed him significantly.
