The 12 week marathon to choose the million dollar cutest dog finalists is ended. Here they are.  By my estimation 8 of the 12 are Al Frankens, elected by a commie underground having no regard for integrity and decency  Admit it, these are dogs only an owner could call cute.  We all know who should have been included, don't we?  If I had to vote for one of these mutts, it'd be second from the left, bottom row. But why vote?  I no longer have faith in the election process, so eat me dog food people sponsors.  I'm blaming you for Obama too.

How to deal with the angry left

A woman came in last night looking for a book by some feminist author that I had never heard of before, no big surprise there.   So, I look it up in our search engine and the computer says that we might have it in the store.  MIGHT have it, not WILL.  So I tell her that I can check our inventory and see if it’s there and show her the section it would be in.

“No, that’s fine, I’ll find it myself.  I’m going to look around a bit first”

Ten minutes later, as I’m showing another customer to 1984 I run across her in Literature looking around and she barges in to the conversation I’m having with my customer and sneers “Where is the section on Women’s rights?”

I tell her again “It’s upstairs and I’ll be happy to take you to it as soon as I am done here.”

“No, I can fin[d] it myself.”  ....

Drafts Its Own Counterterrorism Strategy After Defense Dept. Declines

If you want to see just how little credence Vice President Joe Biden's plan for Afghanistan has inside military circles, look no further than this paragraph from an article written by Peter Spiegel and Yochi Dreazen for the Wall Street Journal:

People familiar with the internal debates say Mr. Obama rejected a strictly counter-terror approach during White House deliberations in early October. One official said Pentagon strategists were asked to draft brief written arguments making the best case for each strategy, but the strategists had difficulties writing out a credible case for the counter-terror approach -- prompting members of Mr. Biden's staff to step in and write the document themselves.

In case that wasn't clear, not a single strategist in the Pentegon was willing to draft a paper to defend the Biden plan. No one wanted to put their name on the document. So, members of Biden's staff -- political appointees -- had to write the brief. [Weekly Standard]

Rewriting the Bible as if it were the health care bill

Enter Stage Right

Oh, they say they're Christian, that they're Progressive Catholic like the Vice-President, Joe Biden and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi or they're Progressive Baptist like Bill Clinton … or Progressive  … uh … Protestant … like Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton … oh, these Progressive Christians … rewriting the Bible as if it were the health care bill … and, in both cases, making the "Public Option" their main objective.

Basically the public option is the government as an increasingly, all-powerful god.

So aren't these so-called Progressive Christians just wearing God down, pulling away the authority invested in Him by the Holy Bible and replacing the Almighty God with the increasingly Almighty Federal Government?

Of course, they are.

Actor Michael Moriarity scores salient points here, meaning of course that I agree with him.  Some random clips.

- The sleaziest and smarmiest of America's Progressive Know-it-alls are those who still claim to practice some form of Christianity.

- If you believe in God … or consider the possibility that He even exists … you must at least and increasingly see the Progressive Movement as mainly a cunning and serpentine seduction, a soft and cooing courtship to increasingly obvious forms of atheism.

- Yes, Progressive Catholics can not only rewrite the Bible like a health care bill but make Biblical history with even another destruction of an Israeli Jerusalem.

- Even the oldest corners of History, despite Progressive efforts at rewriting everything, will keep repeating themselves, which, of course, means that even after being destroyed, Israel will rebuild itself.

- Obama's seemingly unavoidable trips down paths already stumbled on in recent history by the likes of Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter, are being accompanied by shouts from the White House that Fox is not, indeed, proclaiming the historically obvious but, instead, is bent upon sabotaging any Democratic Presidency.

- Despite the Harvard degree and the recent Nobel Peace Prize, President Barack Obama is proving himself to be not only one of the dimmest bulbs on the White House Christmas tree, but the depth of his narcissistic pride is only akin to that of the mythical Icarus.   [Full Article]

I'm going to believe that Moriarity left Law & Order because he could no longer abide reading from the show's Progressive scripts.

Gun Control By Way Of Health Reform

Correction: November 8, 1993, Monday An article on Thursday about a proposal to tax handgun ammunition misstated the cost of some particularly destructive bullets under the plan. A 10,000 percent tax (calculated on the wholesale cost) would push the price of a $24 box of 20 Black Talon cartridges to $1,500, not to $150,000.

I've said that my biggest concern about Obamacare isn't the cost, since our money will be essentially worthless in a few months anyway. No, it's because gummint controlled health care affords them an opportunity to control every aspect of our lives under its umbrella.  I remember being stunned when, during a congressional hearing on her health grab attempt, some Donk asked Hillary whether a tax on bullets was being considered?    "No," she replied, "but that might be a good idea."   Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan jumped all over the idea. Today's IBD editorial addresses that concern with this new bunch.
Gun Rights: A decade after Congress forbade the CDC from studying the health consequences of gun ownership, the National Institutes of Health has started funding such research. Will reform pry the guns from our cold, sick hands?

More than a decade ago Congress, seeing it as a backdoor assault on the 2nd Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms, voted to cut funding for firearms research by the Centers for Disease Control. Such research was viewed as one-sided and based on flawed assumptions that all gun use was bad, even that which saved lives and deterred crime.

The National Institutes of Health seemed to have picked up the baton by funding similar studies of gun violence as a public health issue.

"It's almost as if someone's been looking for a way to get this study done ever since the Centers for Disease Control was banned from doing it 10 years ago," said Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, of one of the NIH studies. "But it doesn't make any more sense now than it did then."

In response to inquiries about the studies, NIH spokesman Don Ralbovsky said: "Gun-related violence is a public health problem — it diverts considerable health care resources away from other problems and, therefore, is of interest to NIH."

Considering the drive for health care reform and the views on private gun ownership held by this administration and appointees such as Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, [continued]

Obamacare test vote

TESTING 2.. 3 ...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi

THE FIRST HEALTH CARE VOTE: The 47-to-53 defeat of the $247 billion doc fix was a bigger loss than supporters expected. The defeat came at the hands of Senate Democratic moderates, jittery about adding to the national debt by passing legislation that wasn’t paid for. The fact that Democrats, who hold a 60-vote majority, could not muster even 51 votes for the bill is a sign of rocky sledding ahead for health care reform.
Roll Call’s Steven Dennis: “House Democratic leaders sounded bullish Wednesday after launching an all-hands-on-deck effort to win support for a ‘robust’ public insurance option in their health care bill. ‘We think we have the votes now,”’ Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson (Conn.) told reporters. ‘We have the votes to pass a robust public option.’ Larson cautioned that the details were still being worked out, and Democratic aides said Members were still being whipped at press time and did not release a tally.  {politico]

Duct Taped Airplane

WHY WE WIN!

Bear attack 2009

Apparently a bear attacked his plane while parked in a remote field up in AK. He had not cleaned out the inside after a long fishing trip and the bear smelled it.

He had 2 new tires, 3 cases of Duct Tape and several rolls of cellophane delivered. Then went about repairing the plane so he could fly it home.

Gutsy, to say the least. Or stupid. ( Neither! just common up north sense! What other option did he have? That's why we call it "100 mile an hour tape". Have tested it myself and found that at a little over 100 mph it begins to fray a tad...especially on the top of the aircraft.

Commander Lieutenant Forsythe sent me several pictures and a story .. this story.  I was able to find it, and all the pictures, on the web.  While there are dozens of sites carrying the story, all are the same, and  none identify the pilot.  There be no question though about duct tape being used to repair a ripped apart airplane.

BTW, Wasilla, home to RAK the Holster Boy, and Sarah the Palin, boasts of being the  "Duck Tape Capital of the WORLD!,"   Is there anything it can't do

What the Limbaugh Quote
Hoax Really Tells Us

In his examination of today's schizo left, Chicago Boy Shannon Love basically validates my own theory.  That they are rabid dogs to be very much feared. Here's a cut  from What the Limbaugh Quote Hoax Really Tells Us -
Watching so many serious journalists and leftist political figures fall for the fake Rush Limbaugh quotes tells us something very frightening about what leftists believe true about non-leftist America. I say, “frightening,” because we evaluate the level of threat that others pose based on our understanding of the amorality of their beliefs. Then we rationalize the harshness of the methods we are willing to employ against them based on our threat assessment. We are much more willing to use draconian methods against people we view as extremely evil than we are against people we judge less evil. As a nation, we were willing to employ much more draconian methods to defeat fascism than we employed to fight anyone else. The same basic principle applies to our internal conflicts as well. The more extreme and dangerous we view our political and social opponents as being, the more tolerant we become of extreme measures to oppose them.

Given this, what does it portend for American non-leftists that a wide and powerful swath of the American left apparently believes it quite credible that a major media figure with an audience in the tens of millions looks back fondly on slavery and approves of political assassination? What draconian methods could those leftists rationalize using if they really believe they are fighting people with such values?

As I have written before, immersion in fantasy is a defining aspect of leftism. As they move progressively towards the left pole of the political spectrum, the realities become more and more immersive while becoming more and more detached from reality. At the far end of the spectrum, the leftists become delusional to the point they believe they are trapped in a gotterdammerung struggle of good versus evil that justifies any action they might take in fighting that struggle. When dangerous fantasies, once the providence of the 5% most radical left, become accepted as true in the 40% just to the left of center, the rest of us are in great danger.

He concludes that Limbaugh is only the "visible  manifestation"of  a fearsome mid-wing America that we know as you and me." His judgment that "They are targeting the rest of us as well"  begs for a possible course of action.   Does he believe in any realistic, nonviolent, way of regaining control of our government?  How?  He stops short, I guess,  because people who do venture into that arena enter into a very black place indeed.  And get their names put on a list.  Ahem.

BTW, I do realize that calling the left out this way will validate their own twisted misapprehensions.  So, there you have it.  One faction can no longer live with the other.  Divorce, a very nasty divorce,  is probably in order.

About that phony-baloney ABC-WaPost Poll  touting phony-baloney Obama love - (via Rush Limbaugh show)
"The sampling of this poll compromises 33% Democrats and 20% Republicans.  That's a 13-point spread.  It is two points larger than their September polling at 32 to 21% -- and more tellingly, it's significantly larger than their Election Day sample, which included 35% Democrats and 26% Republicans for a gap of nine points."  So if you're going to do a poll and you're gonna sample 33% Democrats versus 20% Republicans, 13% more Democrats, you can get the result you want.  Then if you get into racial weighting of the polling sample, then you can get even more results that you want.  And then you can say to President Obama, "See? See? We're on your side! See? Don't Fox us! We're helping you, Mr. President. We're on your side."  It's a totally fraudulent poll. [This one is not]
