Giap's Gaps

Giap's Gaps

As expected, I am frustrated by the inability to access highlighted text and notes, except as screen caps, from Kindle Books.  Maybe a good thing in this case (Politically Incorrect Guide to The Vietnam War), because  I'd have highlighted damn near every paragraph.  Anyway, the other day I sure enough heard one of the Hitler Channels tout Vietnamese general Vo Nguyen Giap as a military genius.  THE military genius of the Vietnam war.   I ran to retrieve this highlighted excerpt.

Giap's strategic rules might be broken down thus:

John Kerry lies to congress

As we sit here today, not one damned thing has changed, except.   Except that one of the most cowardly and treasonous of the bunch had the fucking gall to run for president, and damn near win!, and is still a member of the U.S. Senate.

Our friends, Iran?

When the world sees how these ships are destroyed, no one will dare go there (Israel)," he added. "And I am only speaking about the Mediterranean, I haven't reached the Red Sea yet.

CONSIDER THIS - A hot war in the Middle East seems inevitable.  As things stand, I expect the UN  will side with Iran and its client states Syria, Lebanon, and the Palestinians,  against Israel.  Would Obama join with the UN, a body to which he's showed more allegiance to than he has the United States?  Or with Israel, whom he's been undermining since he took office?  If he follows form, US troops under UN command would find themselves  fighting alongside  radical Islam, and  against the Israelis.  In the event Bin-Barry gave that order, what would you expect to happen?

Media Photoshopping a War

Reuters Caught Cropping Flotilla Photos

The way Reuters cropped the photos depicted practically all the terrorists without weapons. But bloggers, such as Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs, caught on when a Turkish newspaper posted the full pictures. And, lo and behold, once the full photos were shown, it appears that these so called "peace activists" are nothing of the sort. The photos show wounded Israeli soldiers being attacked by knife-wielding thugs, with their lives clearly at risk.
I guess because it would fit my perception of him, I at first read this to mean that Sir Charles was on the Mavi Marmara.  Amazing how brazen the media is.  And they want to tax Bloggers to subsidize them?

Democrats Skip Town Halls to Avoid Voter Rage
The reception that Representative Frank Kratovil Jr., a Democrat, received here one night last week as he faced a small group of constituents was far more pleasant than his encounters during a Congressional recess last summer.

Then, he was hanged in effigy by protesters. This time, a round of applause was followed by a glass of chilled wine, a plate of crackers and crudités as he mingled with an invitation-only audience at the Point Breeze Credit Union, a vastly different scene than last year’s wide-open televised free-for-alls.

I can't tell you how galling it is to have Kravotil as my Representative. He snuck in after an asshat moderate split the  Republican vote, and ACORN worked its magic.   But, as the NYT Headline implies, the cowardly weasels are pulling stunts like Kravotil, or plain not making an appearance,  The Weekly Standard parodies the tactic here, The President's Town Hall

Description

Photograph of a crowd at the lynching of Lashenais on the corner of Temple Street and New High (Justica) Street, Los Angeles, 1870. A crowd of people gathers around the gate to the lumber yard. Lashenais, who was lynched for killing Jacob Bell, hangs from the archway. Many people towards the outside of the crowd simply sit, inactive. Tents and other spectators can be seen on the hill in the background. The image also shows Pound Cake Hill, which would later become the site of the Court House and then the Criminal Courts Building.

Jodi Lou sent me Really Old Pictures.PPS, a copy of which you may view here (Be sure and click 'Full Screen').  Wondering who the hanged guy Lashenais was led me to the USC Digital Library, from whence the Description above.  The pictures "Return of Casey's scouts from the fight at Wounded Knee 1890 ," and ""General George A. Custer, Dakota Territory 1874"  (2 years before Little Big Horn) struck a chord. I tried to read "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" several times, but just could not get into it.  This leaves me wondering whether the "fight" became a "massacre" through the same process Columbus was branded a mass murderer?

Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
Self-identified liberals and Democrats do badly on questions of basic economics

Boned Jello

If you are smarter than a fifth-grader, you shan't need to read the article to know that, "According to a Zogby International survey that I write about in the May issue of Econ Journal Watch, the answer is unequivocal: The left flunks Econ 101."

This is a stick up

Warning: the IRS won't take
kindly to people who watch this video.

Maria "Money Honey" Bartiromo here interviews Ron Paul, and a former IRS Agent on  tax code legalities.  It is, in my experience, a singular instance where the interviewer hasn't displayed hostility to people who question the basis for taxing our asses off.  If Ron Paul wasn't so wrong on our obligation to engage fascist Islam, he'd be the next president, IMO.  At any rate, tucked away in the Obamacare legislation are funds to hire 12,500 new IRS agents. A warning from the administration that the IRS will no longer be the Mr. Nice Guys, relatively speaking, that we've come to know and love.  Be careful out there.
