Dueling Videos

You Tube Asshats
I saw the video on the left, and it annoyed me.  I extracted the audio and added my own content (right).  You Tube disabled my audio because of copyright (1 minute) .  I've disputed it, but really don't give a rat's ass, it's the principle.  Play the Lefty video and mine simultaneously and then mine has sound.  Plllltttt.

Ann Coulter - Surfing for Gays?

Now that members of the Tea Party movement have stolen much of her thunder, Ms. Coulter is taking some surprising new positions. She called the decision to send more troops into Afghanistan "insane," warning that it could be a new Vietnam. She has decried fellow Republicans for continuing to insist President Obama is Muslim. And perhaps most startling, she wants to bring more gay Republicans into the conservative fold.-

Well, she does play to win.

The New York Slimes has been on a anti-conservative chick bashing bender, wot.  There was Pam Geller, and now Ann Coulter in the same week. I've taken exception to Ann's "birther" statement myself, and I agree that nation building in a country that has never had structure was tough at best.  My solution, and prolly hers, is nuke all the 'stans. But wait - I'm handing off to Micky Kaus

Edgy Simpsons

Matt Groening's Dark Side
Simpson's Season Opener Opener

My guess has been that The Simpson's creative team, led by Matt Groening, are annoyed by South Park, and its openly conservative message.  In response, Lisa Simpson has emerged as Groening's, or perhaps Simpsons executive producer Al Jean's alter ego,  through which the liberal message is delivered.  2008's  season opener went full monty though, with the "Homer tries to vote for Obama" clip, where the voting machine changes his Obama vote to McCain's.  More telling: the clip was made available to YouTube several months before the the opener, which amounts to open electioneering.  This season's edgy reference to "Asian slave labor" looked to me like an apology for outsourcing it's own animation to South Korea.  Liberals love to apologize.  South Park would have followed up with demands that the prepubescent tots be paid  full US wages, resulting in them losing their jobs, and dying of starvation.  Which is why South Park wins the cartoon ideology war.  I still love the Simpsons, but shame on them for exploiting little, defenseless cartoon characters.

Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign is allowing donors to use largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity, campaign officials confirmed.

Faced with a huge influx of donations over the Internet, the campaign has also chosen not to use basic security measures to prevent potentially illegal or anonymous contributions from flowing into its accounts, aides acknowledged. Instead, the campaign is scrutinizing its books for improper donations after the money has been deposited.

J.R. Dunn's The American Left Slides Into Psychosis for American Thinker reminds me of the movie Blood Simple.  It's so carefully crafted that there's no throw-away scene; not an extraneous word of dialog.  Editing for the trailer is frustrating, because the distributor, me, keeps ending up with the entire film.  I'm not even going to try then.

Oh, what the hell ..
Leftists really believed that Obama embodied their moment. Obama held all the cards -- majorities in both houses, a slavish press that viewed him as no less than a godling, an enthusiastic public, even an acquiescent international establishment,... No left-of-center president has had smoother road before him -- not FDR, not Lyndon Johnson. Yet Obama's efforts amount to utter failure. ... He got the bills passed, guaranteed that their execution would be in the hands of extraconstitutional figures beholden only to him, and got them funded by means both legal and illegal. All of it was put into play with a smoothness that only Chicago thuggery combined with socialist chicanery could accomplish. He launched them, and they crashed, and they burned.

Boned Jello
They crashed and burned because they cannot work. ... not in Asia, not in Africa, nowhere across this wide world. ... The failures were hurriedly stuffed down the memory hole, enabling the left to hope for another shot sometime down the line. (No small number of people in this country -- many of them not doctrinaire leftists by any means -- truly believe that FDR "ended" the Depression.)

But today they have a problem --several, in point of fact. The first is that the memory hole has in large part been filled in over the past decade and a half by such things as the Internet and the New Media. It's no longer a simple matter to shove nationwide failures out of sight. It may not even be possible.

The second is the fact that this time they bet the house. They put everything down on Obama. Because it had to work. Because the third time was the charm. Because O was the messiah. And now they're sitting in the casino dead broke, without another dime to lay on the table, and through the doorway they can hear the shouts of the people whose money they embezzled.  </excerpt>
