Negotiating with Republicans
Almost like Negotiating with Terrorists
That would be, not that it
matters, Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) speaking. Like you, I've
spent years trying to decide whether this type of outrageously
hypocritical statement made by Liberals -
- are cynically designed for
effect?
- represent raw ideological beliefs?
Consider:
Menendez's
statements might fulfill Alinsky Rule 2
- : Never
go outside the experience of your people. The
result is confusion, fear, and retreat.
All of us have friends and relatives whose head would explode if
someone like Menendez told the truth about anything, so there's that
argument for contrivance. On the other hand, even the dullest
Democrats (Patty Murray, Barbara Boxer, et al.) are too quick to utter
what we think of as "The Big Lie," which sometimes leads me to think
they really believe their own s*it.

“Do
you allow yourself to be held hostage and get something done for the
sake of getting something done, when in fact it might be perverse in
its ultimate results? It’s almost like the question of do you negotiate
with terrorists.” Sen.
Robert Menendez

That quote by Menendez, I think, is a good example of Boomerang Self
Personification (BSP). Always accuse others of that which
you're already doing; it incorporates both possibilities. Does it
really matter though? When you're dealing with Communists, the
Taliban, or Party Line Democrats it's kill or be killed (hyperbolic
where necessary). Bottom line, I'm introducing a new topic, "They
may actually believe this s*it!"
