The numbers on Hitler and Stalin seem low. Here's an interesting remnant of my undergrad days. The Soviet Union had negative population growth between 1910 & 1950. No, it wasn't the war.

Lincoln recruited a foreign army, although not foreign because they were citizens as they joined the US Army. He then launched all out war against the civilian population of the South and easily caused the death of over a million civilians either directly or as a result of his orders. So "honest abe" is kicking it with Pol Pot.

Total nonsense. Combat deaths in the Civil War mounted to just over 600,000, civilian losses were estimated at below 250,000. Drawing any kind of equivalency between Lincoln and the mass murderers on this page is just sickening. Blow me. -

Had they won, the Southern elites planned to enslave the whole Northern population...Lee and King Jeff would be up there with Mao, Lenin and Stalin.
A third of their slaves was already white.
All these bloodbaths where to afford a parasite caste a life of idleness, like the Romans and the Muslims enjoyed. -

I’m by no means a Civil War historian or even above average history buff but I know what I know. I know that there were no “slaves” fighting in the Civil War. I know that the men fighting on both sides were above average in every way by today’s standards. These were Real Americans fighting for the things Real Americans today believe are still worth dying for. The leaders on both sides were gentlemen and patriots. There were no Caesars in the ranks and the thought of being kings or king makers never entered into the mind of the likes of Lee or Davis. These men to the best of my knowledge were Conservative Christian gentlemen and the kind of men Edmond Burke would say must be the foundation of any nation that aspires to be great.
If God Almighty favored one side of that conflict over another it wasn’t because of the men fighting or directing the war or what they believed in, that I’m sure of. His ways are not our ways. If by His Grace I get the opportunity I just might ax him why he didn’t give the South a nuke or two. There’s no doubt in my mind we’d have been a better country for it and when a Black man did finally make it into the White House it would not be the alien SOB we have now, it would have been Walter Williams and it would have happened 20 years earlier. That’s all I got. It’s Friday and someplace it’s 5PM and drinks are half price. Gotta go. -

I have to take issue with that Tojo part. Tojo was only the Prime Minister. Hirohito was the emperor, and Japan's military effort began and ended the moment he said so. Most people don't realize that when you take the Axis Powers as a group, WWII started in the early 30s. Japan started the war long before Hitler and Il Duce. They were in Indochina and the south pacific for more than half a decade before old Adolf marched on Poland.
Read Dr. Kevin Pezzi's blog for more info. Based on his research, Japan under Hirohito was responsible for more than 30 million deaths between 1930-1945.
