Obama buys Zuccotti Park for $168 Mil - your $168 Mil ....

"So it looks like they ... in exchange for letting their park be used by the protesters, got a $168 million loan guarantee from the regime."

Rodge,  I havent seen it reported other than Rush speaking of it today

RUSH: Well, let me fill you in on the answer to your question, at least as it relates to the Zuccotti Park in New York. This is from the Business Insider, and this is the real reason why they weren't kicked out last Friday. If you recall, they were supposed to be kicked out just so the park could be cleaned and then they would be allowed back in, but they thought it would be the first step of a permanent evacuation, they refused to go, and everybody involved backed down. Now, here's the thing.

"Coming on the heels of the Solyndra debacle, the Obama administration has just approved a $168.9 million loan guarantee for the Granite Reliable wind farm project owned by Brookfield Asset Management (BAM). Among its many holdings BAM owns Brookfield Renewable Power, which owns the Granite Reliable and it also owns Brookfield Office Properties, whose holdings include the now famous Zuccotti Park. The Department of Energy finalized the loan guarantee less than a week after Occupy Wall Street protesters took to Zuccotti Park."

So it looks like the people at Brookfield Asset Management, in exchange for letting their park be used by the protesters, got a $168 million loan guarantee from the regime. But it doesn't stop there. "The Granite Reliable Power Project under construction in Coos Bay, New Hampshire is the state's largest wind farm and the New Hampshire Union Leader questions why Brookfield would need federal subsidies at all, particularly following the bankruptcy of Solyndra," and why is GE getting subsidies when they don't need the money? "Mayor Bloomberg's announcement Monday that protesters could remain as long as they liked, also raised a few eyebrows and it turns out he has a personal connection to Brookfield as well. The mayor's longtime domestic partner Diana Taylor is on the Board of Directors at Brookfield Properties along with John E. Zuccotti himself."
So you wonder why they don't need permits? They don't need permits because the mayor's compromised, the girlfriend's compromised, Obama's compromised, in the middle of all this is a $170 million loan guarantee to Zuccotti's Granite Reliable wind farm project. And the price for that is letting them use Zuccotti Park. Does that answer your question? [Full]

Do I have to say it?  Again?  No? Good.

What's next?  A clit ring?

Barbie's 'funky' new tattoo

The reaction: Tokidoki Barbie "is essentially harmless and actually quite cute," says Souzan Michael at Trendhunter, but who are we kidding? A lot of conservative parents are going to be outraged. It's not hard to see why they'll think this Barbie's a bad influence, says This Fangirl Life.  [Barbie's 'funky' new tattoo]

"Has the iconic doll's street-wise makeover turned her into a bad influence?"

Gee, only those uptight, so-called conservative, so-called parents, could make that leap over someting so inconsequential as a toy.  I mean it's not like it's a cap gun.

Whatever Hillary has to say about her future is moot because she lies about everything.  But this next thing ...

So you’re in a Spanish class and you have to sing the National Anthem of Mexico,” Glenn began, explaining the controversy’s nuances. “You have a problem with that. All right. Then you’re asked to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. You have a problem with that. Well, yeah. I’m not pledging my allegiance to Mexico. But you‘re told not to worry about it because the words don’t ‑‑ they’re just words. They don’t mean anything. Well, then so now I‘m insulting Mexicans and Mexico because now I’m just devaluing the words of their pledge? Something’s not right, and it’s happening down in Texas. A girl came home, told her father about it in Spanish class. She didn’t do it. Dad’s on the phone with us now. [Glenn Interviews Dad of TX Girl Who Refused to Recite Mexican Pledge in Class]

U.S. House Committee Advances National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act

This week, the House Judiciary considered amendments to H.R. 822, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Bill, and defeated all anti-gun amendments offered in an effort to weaken or gut the legislation.

The legislation is an important pro-gun reform that will provide for the recognition of carry permits in all states that issue permits. (For detailed information on the legislation,  ...  it amended the language so that visitors to states that have laws requiring licenses just for possession of a handgun, do not need a possession license, which is often unavailable to nonresidents.

The substitute also made clear that in states with local jurisdictions that restrict carrying or possession, visitors will not need to apply for special permits from those jurisdictions. [Full]

Opponents of the bill proposed a number of anti-gun amendments that sought to use misdemeanor convictions to disqualify people from the benefits of the bill.  All of these efforts were defeated.   USA UAS USA

Brown v. Vilolent Video Games

... it is the parents – not the government – who are responsible for supervising their children and ensuring that they don’t entertain themselves with this garbage. re Brown vs. Entertainment Merchants Association.

Kids Video Games

In a world where regulations are taking over almost every imaginable aspect of our lives, it’s rare that anyone from the government instructs you to figure things out for yourself. One particularly pernicious area of government intervention is within the relationship between children and their parents. Too often, kids are told that they don’t have to listen to their parents, because there is a government agency chock-full of bureaucrats ready to help.  Supreme Court Stands Up For Freedom

It's certainly problematical that too many parents today don't know a thing about what goes on in their kid's bedrooms.  But, then,  there are people who use guns to rob banks too.

Commies and Nazis sure do like Occupy Wall Street --

In a move that may redefine the term “strange bedfellows,” the American Nazi Party issued an official endorsement of the Occupy Wall Street protest movement on Sunday afternoon. The announcement put the organization, a self-described “National Socialist” political party, in company with the Socialist Party USA, which explained its own support for the left-wing protesters in a nationwide conference call last Tuesday night, crediting organized labor with the protests’ strength and sophistication to date.  [Full]
