Continuing my
tradition of December election predictions (2007), let me note that I
am not listening to any news about the 2012 Presidential election. I
believe that Barack Obama will win the general election by a slim
margin, e.g., 51/49 percent of the popular vote. Here are my reasons:
- people are afraid of
change and will favor an incumbent if one is available
- Obama ended the Iraq war
- Americans know in their
hearts that Obama is not responsible for the stagnant economy [Philip
Greenspun cunt]

An
ill-tempered person full of resentment and stubborn notions.
I stand with a
vast minority of people who
see our system so corrupted as to be unsalvageable without truly
revolutionary action. There is no prospect for that happening
this
year. I
think that a nation of people who would elect a zero like Obama in the
first instance are capable of any execrableness. That said -
The Iraq war had ended and was won. Did Truman end
WWII
in 1952? That's when the occupation forcesin Japan were
withdrawn. What Obama
did is better described as bail.
He
left the patient in the recovery room with open wounds. It
took just
24 hours before infection began to set in. Prognosis- "Arab Spring" The
forthcoming bloodshed in Iraq is on him.
- Americans know in their hearts that Obama is
not responsible for the stagnant economy
As hard as it is to believe, I know people who feel that way. But
I
call bullshit on the idea that they're a majority. Why
isn't Barney
Frank running for reelection? He said it's because he was
gerrymandered out of his safe district.
In Massachusetts? Bullshit.
Even Boston reporters were asking him whether he felt responsibility
for crashing the economy. People know. This is a Democrat
depression.
Mitt Romney will be the
nominee. He
will be subjected to the full Sarah
Palin treatment. Every
degree of
of anti-Mormon
hate, hysteria and falsehood are in the media script. I think
he'll
still win, but what will we have
won? Richard Nixon? Or President Bush (pick-em) at
best? Belay
that. We will have ended the Obama reign of terror, so there's
that. |
