SCOTUS-OGARKY

'GARKYS

When five largely unrepresentative and unaccountable people can decide to impose their moral values on a nation of 320 million, we really are not a nation of laws, but a nation of men.

When clerks in Washington, D.C. can deny citizens access to guns, despite there being an individual, constitutional right, we really are not a nation of laws, but a nation of men.

When Barack Obama can ignore court rulings and bypass Congress on a whim and be cheered for doing so, we really are not a nation of laws, but a nation of men.

When mayors and other leaders can be cheered for ignoring the marriage laws of the nation and issue same sex marriage licenses at a time doing so is prohibited by state law, we really are not a nation of laws, but a nation of men.

When jurors lie to get on death penalty cases to ensure the death penalty cannot be issues and they are heroes for doing so, we really are not a nation of laws, but a nation of men.

So when Kim Davis refuses to issue marriage licenses, she’s just behaving as all the others have done. Only she’s the bad guy because the secular loud voices of the country disagree with her ignoring the law.

But again, we are nation of men, not a nation of laws.

Anthony Kennedy decided to insert his will and morality into the discussion and shut up everyone else. He thought he could shut down the conversation. He only made it angrier.

We are not a democracy, but an oligarchy. And we are not a nation of laws. The republic may continue, but without the moral leadership necessary to bind the leaders and citizens to the same laws. [RED STATE]

The Roman Empire lasted  approximately 500 years.  You would think that had Roman citizens had  an internet with 24/7 news about how corrupt the system had become that they'd ... nah.  They'd be just like us; erm, were just like us.

Poor, poor Erick Erickson.
After doing the GOPe's bidding by being "shocked! SHOCKED!" at Trump's Megyn Kelly comment and banning him...
...and gets holy hell from readership and public in general...

...*suddenly* he pulls a 180°, has a revelation, and tries...oh he really really tries!...to be OUTRAGED! at what the Dems and their sidekick Vichy Republicans have done to America.

May he and his RedSLATE site burn in hell.

We disagree sometimes, but by and large I am a huge Erick Erickson fan. Your mileage obviously differs.

The article above the comments are quite true, especially about this being a country of men, not laws. Ours is a nation being run by extremely unapologetic oligarchs, namely Mullah Obama and his sycophants, The Supreme Court which has shown itself in recent years to be The Supreme Toadies of the Obama monarchy. and a do-nothing Congress that is committed to their own reelections. Nothing more. Nothing less.

As for Anons comment above about Erick Erickson and his Red State blogging, Anon has shown himself to be nothing more than a true, dyed-in-the-wool far, far to the left of center Dumbocrat. I would venture to say that he probably has a a shrine in his house honoring the ground on which Obama walks.

The way the Democrats get away with lawbreaking while the legal system mostly ignores them and Republicans get hammered for violating relatively minor offenses (Dinesh D'Souza, Scooter Libby) reminds me of Professional Wrestling that I used to watch as a Kid.

There were tag team matches where the bad guys would get away with all sorts of fouls, and the referee would turn his back and lecture the good guy watching his partner get stomped.

The system is rigged more or less like that.

One of Lil Erick's favorite past times is going after conservative republican women. Whether he has any facts or not.

His favorite target happens to be Sarah Palin and her family. He frequently goes after them. Only a couple of weeks ago was the last time.

When Nikki Haley first ran for governor, Erick re-published verbatim "rumors and innuendo" from a third rate upstate {S.C.} blogger who was claiming all sorts of vicious allegations of his affair with Nikki. He promised to produce evidence, but of course never did.

Erick never produced any either but that never stopped him from publishing it. His defense of Meghan Kelly was more for gathering points and job security {Fox Contributor} than for the defense of a woman.

His mileage expired a long time ago in my book. He's a punk.

Poll: Trump beats Hillary. Wow. I did not see this happening for at least another few months or so. Whatever alliegence Erickson may have to the RNC establishment, we are quickly approaching the point where one has to jettison plan A and embrace plan B; irregardless of the fact that plan B is being imposed upon us by 'outsiders'. Whether you call it a 'Use The Force, Luke' scenario, or prefer the OODA Loop reasoning, the time to adjust to rapidly changing conditions is upon us.
