Maybe A FINE IDEA

It would be great if social media were neutral forums. However, since they are not neutral forums then we have a problem. Since the algorithms are rigged to favor Democrats and Leftists the Justice Department must open an investigation into the social media companies to determine if the algorithms are an “in kind” election contribution. Posted on 8/20/2018, 8:42:13 AM by Enlightened1

President Trump should introduce legislation stripping all socialism media companies of their section 230 immunity. What do I mean by this? Please read below.

Since the tech companies are trying to have it both ways where on one hand they are censoring conservatives, promoting Democrats in their social media algorithms, but at the very same time they have public square immunity under federal law from what people post to their web sites. The Tech Left are saying they can do whatever they want when it comes to censorship. However, if you have public square immunity from federal law, then you cannot at the very same time censor conservatives and promote Democrats. President Trump simply needs to make it so that Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc.. can no longer have immunity to third party posts. Thus, social media will no longer be treated as public platforms or the modern public square where people can say what they want, but treated as Publishers. Again this is since social media giants want to censor what is being said on their web sites. The Tech Left are trying to have it both ways, and you cannot. You fall under one category or the next.

* Blumenthal v. Drudge, 992 F. Supp. 44, 49-53 (D.D.C. 1998).[26] The court upheld AOL's immunity from liability for defamation. AOL's agreement with the contractor allowing AOL to modify or remove such content did not make AOL the "information content provider" because the content was created by an independent contractor. The Court noted that Congress made a policy choice by "providing immunity even where the interactive service provider has an active, even aggressive role in making available content prepared by others." [EXAMPLE]
This above is an easy way to make everyone play by the same rules. If you make a billion dollar as these tech companies do, then say they are liable for all content posted on their web sites like a Publisher. The funny part is the Tech Left for years have been arguing they are just a public platform and they cannot be held accountable. However, since they are now openly and actively censoring people it is time to strip away their section 230 immunity. Section 230 is part of the Digital Millennium Copyright act, and it holds that platforms are not liable for content posted by third parties to their websites.

It would be great if social media were neutral forums. However, since they are not neutral forums then we have a problem. Since the algorithms are rigged to favor Democrats and Leftists the Justice Department must open an investigation into the social media companies to determine if the algorithms are an “in kind” election contribution. For instance, if you own Billboard, then you cannot give that Billboard to a political candidate. That is known as “in kind” contribution, and there are contribution limits. Thus, if you like a candidate and you donate the maximum money. You then cannot go put out a bunch of commercials for that candidate. This is because you already maxed out giving money to the candidate. What these tech companies are doing by rigging the algorithms is the functional equivalent of giving a candidate free billboards and TV ads.

The above is the key for President Trump to stop the tech left election engineering and rigging. President Trump should have the DOJ send subpoenas to all these social media companies a notice to preserve all evidence, and a notice to preserve all documents. If they fail to do this, hide information, etc… then they can go to prison under federal laws for tampering with evidence and documents. Furthermore, President Trump can send them notices of anti-trust, election meddling and election fraud, Federal Elections Commission and to the Anti-Trust commission.

The tech companies have made a bet. They believe the Democrats are going to win the House of Representatives in November of 2018. If this happens, then they are off the hook. This is because they will not have Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz and others to hold them accountable since the Democrats would be in control. They believe as long as they help the Democrats they are free and clear. This is why President Trump needs to send out the notices to preserve evidence, subpoena them and open a criminal investigation for election meddling, election engineering and illegal “in kind” campaign contributions made by social media giants. This is all in clear violation of campaign finance laws.

This is the Tech Left Coup. Remember Dinesh D'souza was investigated, charged and sent to prison over giving 20k to a friend through alleged shell donors, then why is there no investigation into the “in kind” contributions? Remember too the new Black Panthers got investigated for standing outside of voting centers with clubs to intimidate voters. Although Holder let them go. Anyhow, these are the Democrats blocking everyone and intimidating everyone.

So when Twitter and Facebook rig their platforms so that Democrat content goes to the top of the pile, that is the functional equivalent of giving someone a free commercial. That’s a clear campaign contribution of billions of dollars.

Leonore Goldschmidt

Hitler's Mustache

Steven Spielberg famously documented Oskar Schindler's defiance of Nazi Socialism (Schindler's List), and there have been others, like Leopold Socha's story (In Darkness).  I recently watched another—Smithsonian's documentary ("Goldschmidt’s Children – The Teacher Who Defied Hitler”) about German school teacher Leonore Goldschmidt.  Riveting stuff.

Surviving students recount how they were sent home from class for praying in class, or wearing tee-shirts emblazoned with the American flag ... wait—sorry; that's another story.  Anyway, after the Nazis decreed that all Jewish teachers be fired, Leonore pretty much "loopholes"  the Nazi bureaucracy and starts a school for Jews. She then cunningly stays one step ahead as the Nazi noose tightens.  You can watch all 42 minutes here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DKO50viOBg).

In days of old, when knights were bold,

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Before Ted Kennedy and LBJ shoved Medicare down the nation's throat, with the usual false promises of cost containment, and pish-poshing the danger of  creeping socialism, Doctors actually competed amongst one another for business. Some (I am not making this up) actually made house calls!  What Medicare did of course is set a "minimum price" for all medical procedures.  That $84.98 appendectomy was set at $98; don't try to dicker.  It took me another 20 years to realize that while not all liars are Democrats, all Democrats are liars.

Barack Obama is trying to make the US a more socialist ...

Barack Obama is trying to make the US a more socialist state

“

WYSIWYG

What was it everybody used to say about the United States? Look at what’s happening over there and you will see our future. Whatever Americans are doing now, we will be catching up with them in another 10 years or so. In popular culture or political rhetoric, America led the fashion and we tagged along behind.

Well, so much for that. Barack Obama is now putting the United States squarely a decade behind Britain. Listening to the President’s State of the Union message last week was like a surreal visit to our own recent past: there were, almost word for word, all those interminable Gordon Brown Budgets that preached “fairness” while listing endless new ways in which central government would intervene in every form of economic activity.

Nothing to add here boss.

Socialist Nations

Proposed:
Any member of the UN is a card carrying socialist nation

“ Rodger,

I hope you are feeling well with Christmas approaching.  If so, here’s a big downer for you.

We have been at war with communism for about 90 years.  Not all our politicians have been fully involved, but over time, we’ve stayed ahead of the commies.  The Soviet Union collapsed under the weight of socialism and Ronald Reagan.  However …

Filthy Democrats
Europe is socialist, despite proof it doesn’t work.  While their economies are collapsing, and the reason for the collapse is well known (socialist spending schemes), there is no rush away from socialism.  Russia and its former empire are heading backward toward communism, with few exceptions.  Asia is mostly communist or socialist, with China attempting to have it both ways with a semi-free economy in cities, but crushing socialism in the interior.  Only Japan and South Korea are not fully socialist.  India, which began as socialist, is having second thoughts.  There’s hope there.  South America and Africa are generally socialist.  Mexico is a socialist narco government, imitating Afghanistan.

The United States has been sliding toward socialism, and now has a communist president.  Republicans, supposedly the opposition, seem bent on going the same way, just more slowly.  Maybe not much more slowly anymore.

So Rodger, is the war already over?  Before we actually have a chance to win?  Look at a map and tell me what you think.  The communists may already have won.

Skoonj

Good points skoonj.  There does appear to be some disagreement about which countries are socialist/communist.  For instance, Wikipedia does not even hint that the United States is socialist despite this As a rule of thumb and four fingers, I propose that  any member of the UN is a card carrying socialist nation.

Mixed metaphor but accurate

TEXT
Calling a spade a—  er ... rose by any other name

“ “I absolutely agree that everybody needs to try to tone down the rhetoric,” Mr. Obama said. “In fairness, since I have been called a socialist who wasn’t born in this country, who is destroying America and taking away its freedoms because I passed a health care bill, I am all for lowering the rhetoric.” [Tea party activist takes on Obama during town hall meeting in Iowa]

Hell No

"Mr. Rhodes and another conservative activist later confronted the president on the rope line as Mr. Obama was leaving the event. Mr. Rhodes told reporters he does believe the president is a socialist."

Gummint Healthcare Short Version

World’s Shortest Health Care Debate
(Made even shorter)

“” There’s lots more wrangling to be done about that Ohio decision, and the only thing that can be stated with confidence is that Anthony Kennedy will end up making the final call. One thing I know for an absolute certainty, is no matter how ObamaCare turns out, more is coming afterward; we aren’t finished with statist politicians beseeching us to support this-or-that centrally-managed scheme. That’s going to go on and on. The non-productive people will always want to make rules about how the productive people produce.
[...]
Gummint Health Care
Pick a year. Like, for example, 1975. Would you say government has become more involved or less involved in the administration of medical care since 1975?

Wow, that was easy. Okay. Would you say medical services have become more customer-oriented, or less customer-oriented, since 1975?
[...]
How about cost? Would you get slapped with bill for two thousand bucks after having your hand stitched up in the emergency room — in 1975?
[...]
So, government has gotten much more involved. Customer service is down, screw-ups are routine and expected, costs are soaring out of sight.

No need to argue in a vacuum about what “would” happen with more government intervention. We already know. We know it for an absolute, tested fact.

Argument over.  [House of Arrestallthese]

News From the Farm

NYT advises Dems to shut down the government
and blame it on Republicans --

“   Mr. Biden and the Senate should make it clear to the freshman House members who are really driving their chamber’s position that they will not permit reckless cuts this year. Then let the freshmen explain to an angry public why they closed the government’s doors to score ideological points. [...]
”
Napoleon with news from the farm

“ Republicans claim they will not agree on a penny less than $61 billion, which is too little for some more aggressive freshmen. If the Democrats try to compromise on even half that amount, they will be still be doing enormous damage to many programs and threatening a recovery that is starting to show signs of real life.

The fiscal crisis of the federal government, states, cities and school districts could be solved simply by raising the taxes on the rich and on corporations. We should not be cutting school funding and laying off teachers, on the contrary we should be expanding education to make it free from K to Ph.D., as it was in some state only a few decades ago. We should not be cutting back public services, but rather expanding them by creating a single payer health care system, one that provides free health care to all.
”
I'm sorry, that last paragraph is from the Socialist Party USA's screed. I get them confused with the NYT.

Ford - Obama Motors

 Nothing's just Black & White
but we can make out the shape of things

Boned Jello

“
  1. Consumer Reports, the bible of the car-buying public, now rates Ford's quality higher than Toyota's.
  2. Ford posts $2.7 billion annual profit
  1. GM lost $1.2 billio in third quarter
  2. General Motors' will pay Toyota vehicle owners a cash allowance of up to $1,000, or offer free financing if they switch to a GM car or truck. The promotion will run through February.

Rahm under fire

 Disgruntled Left

Boned Jello

Interesting WSJ article today - Rahm Draws Fire From Left as Obama Falters.  I have a hard time wrapping my mind around Rahm Emanuel being too conservative, which says more about the Soros, Inc infrastructure doing the howling.

President Barack Obama's liberal backers have a long list of grievances. The Guantanamo Bay prison is still open. Health care hasn't been transformed. And Wall Street banks are still paying huge bonuses.

But they are directing their anger less at Mr. Obama than at the man who works down the hall from him. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, they say, is the prime obstacle to the changes they thought Mr. Obama's election would bring.

The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul.

"F—ing retarded," Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items.

The left has gotten some of what it wanted: a ban on torture, an expansion of children's health insurance and an equal-pay law for women. But liberal activists say those and other measures add up to far less than what they expected.

A White House official tells Playbook: "Rahm is not an ideologue; he is a pragmatist. And he has led this administration in accomplishing a series of important progressive achievements that languished for years before President Obama was elected: expanding SCHIP, tobacco regulation, credit card reforms, the Ledbetter Equal Pay Act.”
”
I can just hear Obama tomorrow night, rallying support by crowing about the hard fought SCHIP victory.  I might actually watch the SOTU this year.

Our Chrysalis Stage

Another Gem from Victor David Hanson ....

Teaser ...
“ I got a lot of flak the last year for writing two or three columns suggesting the Europeans and other Leftists abroad might be careful about what they wish for in Obama: he might well leap-frog over them, leaving them all with the world they used to fantasize about, while in reality they profited from the world they demonized. (As I wrote, a keen Frenchman whispered to me at a reception “There is room for only one to play Obama — and we are already Obama.”)

Comrade Hugo

Consider: the U.S. reacted quickly and meddled unambiguously in condemning the Honduran arrest of President Zelaya. It mattered little that for the first time in memory we Americans now were on the side of autocrats like Castro, Chavez, Morales, and Ortega in showing revolutionary solidarity with Zelaya ( and of course the U.N. as well).

We cared little that both the Honduran Supreme Court and Parliament had acted lawfully in ordering their President’s removal on grounds that he had acted unconstitutionally, in bold, unlawful efforts to obtain a third presidential term through a likely rigged plebiscite.

(It would be analogous to an Obama or Bush demanding a third term, illegally acquiring ballots to force a plebiscite, ignoring a Congressional conviction of impeachment, and a Supreme Court edict of unconstitutionality, only to be arrested by the Joint Chiefs and escorted out of the country).
