"... all elected democrats are liars and crooks.

Woman Showcased By Obama At SOTU Address Is NOT Who He Said She Was

Last night during President Obama’s State of the Union Address, he had a woman sit with his wife that he claimed to be a shining example of our economic recovery, the only problem is that he didn’t tell everyone the whole story.

According to the FreeBeacon, Rebekah Erler was presented by the White House as a woman Obama discovered after she wrote him a letter explaining her economic hardships. Her story, Obama says, is proof positive that Americans are coming forward about their stories of how his policies are helping them.

She’s a former Democrat operative who worked for a Washington Senator, Democrat Patty Murray.
Sounds all butterflies and rainbows, right? Wrong.

See, there’s a slight issue with Mrs. Erler’s story. It’s not that she may not have pulled out of a tough time, and it’s not that she didn’t tell Obama that his policies are working, it’s that her credibility is completely lost when we find out she’s a former Democrat operative who worked for a Washington Senator, Democrat Patty Murray.

Worse yet, this wasn’t the first time that Obama used the former Democrat campaign staffer during one of his speeches for a political prop. You mad yet?

In June, Obama spent a “day in the life” of Erler in order to have “an opportunity to communicate directly with the people he’s working for every day.” Something that he was heavily criticized for by the Minnesota Republican Party who believed he is “so out of touch with reality that he thinks a former Democrat campaign staffer speaks for every Minnesotan,” and apparently, now every American.

(Continue if you must ...)

"Worse yet, this wasn’t the first time that Obama used the former Democrat campaign staffer during one of his speeches for a political prop. You mad yet?"

*spit*

This crap began with Bill Clinton's use of  Craig Livingstone as agent provocateur and Butt Man. My educated guess is that in the 15 Clinton/Obama SOTU addresses you'll find 15 strawman citations.  At least.

Vonnegut Wherefore?

about government-mandated absolute equality

Some strange doings in my head this morning.  Stranger than usual anyway.  While shoveling new snow so MoSup can go to Mass, I thought of Kurt Vonnegut.  Out of the blue.

I loved the  movie  adapted from his  Slaughterhouse Five, but it was Harrison Bergeron that cemented the idea into my head that Vonnegut was a visionary; someone who could  recognize and extrapolate consequences from emerging tyrannies.   I was quite jolted then by
his celebrated-by-the-left quote ..

"The only difference between Hitler and Bush is that Hitler was elected."

And another celebrated by the left quote

"Our president is a Christian? So was Adolf Hitler."

If Vonnegut was who I thought he was, it meant that I was wrong.  Despite all evidence to the contrary, Al Gore was the rightful 43rd President of the United States. Bush was the liar; not Gore. Bush and Hitler were good Christians and bad men.  If a Bush agent hadn't killed him by pushing him down the stairs in 2007, what would he be writing today about Obamunism?  Could he, would he,  overcome his biases and see the truth of Obama?  I suspect not, or not until events made it inescapable, and then who would care?

The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. All this equality was due to the 211th, 212th, and 213th Amendments to the Constitution, and to the unceasing vigilance of agents of the United States Handicapper General. —From " Harrison Bergeron " (1961), a short story by Kurt Vonnegut
What of George Orwell?  He wrote of his participation in the Spanish civil war, "I have seen wonderful things and at last really believe in Socialism, which I never did before."  Then he wrote  Animal Farm. and  Nineteen Eighty-FourIt's true that he hated Stalin, but died believing still in the promise of The State.

What novel would he write about  Obamunism?  Or was that novel Animal Farm II?

I was well into writing this when I discovered that Bret Stephens (Kurt Vonnegut's State of the Union) was channeling me in an article Updating a story about government-mandated absolute equality. Will Hollywood make this movie?

2011 SOTU

Blah-BlahBlah

Obama implored Congress to “pass this ($ half-trillion)  bill” nearly twenty times during his address. Still, he sounded prepared for a political battle.

“There should be nothing controversial about this piece of legislation,” he said. “Everything in here is the kind of proposal that’s been supported by both Democrats and Republicans — including many who sit here tonight.” [full]

SOTU-2011

Here's the thing.  While government can lose private sector jobs, they cannot create them by any means other than staying out of people's way.  But these God-wannabes, mostly Liberal, who think they can control climate change ( but not  forecast hurricane strength 24 hours in advance)  are  hopelessly unteachable.  Had Joe Biden, who has never done a useful thing in his life, attended the SOTU wearing a suicide vest, and used it mid-speech, the DOW would be +2000 as we speak,  and we'd be clicking glasses to his memory for a thousand years.
