Here's an interesting factoid about contemporary policing: In 2014, for the first time ever, law enforcement officers took more property from American citizens than burglars did. Martin Armstrong pointed this out at his blog, Armstrong Economics, last week. Officers can take cash and property from people without convicting or even charging them with a crime — yes, really! — through the highly controversial practice known as civil asset forfeiture. Last year, according to the Institute for Justice, the Treasury and Justice departments deposited more than $5 billion into their respective asset forfeiture funds. That same year, the FBI reports that burglary losses topped out at $3.5 billion. Armstrong claims that "the police are now taking more assets than the criminals," but this isn't exactly right: The FBI also tracks property losses from larceny and theft, in addition to plain ol' burglary. If you add up all the property stolen in 2014, from burglary, theft, motor vehicle theft and other means, you arrive at roughly $12.3 billion, according to the FBI. Where are the Christians who were targeted in Kenya to plead their case about the way they are systematically executed by central African Muslim groups? Now, given the way the media has covered the mass shootings committed in America, you would expect that they would be out there paying lip service to the idea of religious pluralism while at the same time explaining that devoutly religious Muslims as a whole are so dangerous that they still deserve to have laws passed against them, right? I mean, that makes sense according to the media’s logic, right? Even though all gun owners or even most gun owners aren’t bad, we still have to take precautions against them according to the media. Well, if all or even most Muslims aren’t bad, but SOME are deadly – and much deadlier even than the shootings here – wouldn’t media logic dictate that we should take more precautions against Muslims in this country? Of course not. Instead they are out there patiently explaining to all us dolts who don’t want huge masses of Syrian refugees moved in next door that the overwhelming majority of them are peaceful and that if one of them turns out not to be and kills a couple hundred people, that’s just the price of being tolerant and open minded, which the media is only too happy to declare that we should pay. The media’s condescension towards middle America is such a sad and sickening spectacle. They sit in their coastal enclaves with their self-loathing towards the oafish country of their origin and bend over backwards to condemn anyone who might generalize even a little bit about Muslims, even during the middle of a spate of Islam-inspired terror attacks. So I'm perusing You Tube and discover a long list of complete audio books—for the taking.   My Story by Elizabeth Smart- Unabridged Audible Edition grabbed my eye.  Took about 2 minutes to realize I'd confused Elizabeth Smart with Pam Smart.  Pam was the very hot teacher who sexually seduced some Jr. High boys so they'd kill her husband.  Remember?  It was dramatized in the movie To Die For starring the even hotter Nicole Kidman in the lead.  Elizabeth Smart was a 14 year old  girl in Utah; stolen from her bed by a sexual deviant and psychopath named Brian David Mitchell.  He kept her in a dirt cave where he raped and abused her for 8 months.  Did I mention that his wife was an accomplice?  One hour into the book (Elizabeth, now 21, narrates) I folded.  Since she wrote the book I knew he didn't kill her and wanted to find out about his execution; no doubt in my mind that was going to happen. Gary Gilmore. The next day I went back and found Elizabeth Smart kidnapping documentary - [Kidnapping documentary 2015].  Wow.  I think you'll find it riveting.

Top Gear producer to sue Clarkson Producer punched by Jeremy Clarkson is suing the former Top Gear host and the BBC for racial discrimination.  WTF? Lawyers for Clarkson and the BBC attended a closed-door hearing with Oisin Tymon's legal team at a London employment tribunal on Friday. “Clarkson will be joined by his erstwhile Top Gear co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May on a new show for Amazon Prime, to be broadcast next year.’” The case centres on "verbal abuse" that accompanied a physical attack during which Clarkson struck Tymon in March. Clarkson, who was dropped by the BBC following an internal inquiry, will front a new show on Amazon Prime. The inquiry, headed up by Ken MacQuarrie, found Mr Tymon was subject to an "unprovoked physical and verbal attack". A statement by the BBC said: "We will be responding to this claim, but will not be commenting further at this time."
