Immigration Rant

STFU Barry ...

"The pens" in the Main Hall at Ellis Island. These immigrants passed their first mental examination and are waiting for more. One qualification for coming to the United States was to have someone already living here who could help you integrate. Image courtesy the New York Public Library.

This past week, I presented the fact that FedBizzOpps.gov posted an ad, in January 0f 2014, seeking “escort services for unaccompanied alien children” from ages from infancy to 17, to transport them to Office of Refugee Resettlement Shelters throughout the U.S. This was a completely manufactured crisis and it was well planned. Even the Wall Street Journal, on June 20, 2014, stated that someone is spreading the belief in Central America that if children can get to America, they will be allowed to stay along with their parents. The culprit for this disinformation would most likely be the CIA.

I have previously covered how the federal government has manufactured the health crisis and one of the standards of proof is in the degree of preparation demonstrated by the federal government. The government knew this was going to happen and they planned for it.

The net result for what I am labeling as treason against the American people, is that we are at risk for contracting the planet’s most virulent diseases and viruses for which we have no treatment and no immunity. In my discussion with Dr. Orient, she used the term “biological attack” in order to describe the threat being posed in the present crisis. Dr. Orient used the term “possible collusion” to describe the federal government’s complete inaction in addressing the growing health concerns as the CDC is completely absent on the border. [Full]

"But we are confident that there will not be a large Ebola outbreak in the US." There is no treatment or vaccine for Ebola, but it can be contained if patients are swiftly isolated and adequate protective measures are used, he said.
Ebola hasn't yet broken out in the United States, but given the free-wheeling immigration policies brokered by Ted Kennedy in 1965—policy that sharply curtailed the immigration of Europeans in favor of third world nations—the clock is ticking.  In the meanwhile, Brock Obama (himself with questionable citizenship)  has allowed make that manufacturedthe illegal immigration of MILLIONS of Mexican and South Americans who have caused the spread of drug resistant TB, Dengue Fever and Chikungunya.

I think a case can be made to levy manslaughter charges against Obama for every U.S. death that can be traced to his reckless behavior.  Since the motivation for this onslaught of illegals is to create an undefeatable Democrat voting block, the DNC  ought also be made to atone.

Raw, obscene sycophancy by a media stooge.

Eric Holder, All American

NBC News’ Chuck Todd tipped his hat Thursday to outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder, praising President Obama’s top law enforcer for being a “very non-political person.”

“He did a lot of the tough stuff that you would say, ‘Hey, the attorney general has to do tough stuff, this is not a forgiving job, you have to do tough stuff,’” the new host of “Meet the Press” said.

“But, what’s interesting about him, he is a very non-political person. And I think people used to mistakenly think that this guy was this long-time political operative who happened to be an attorney general. That’s not him at all,” he added. [Full Dirty Diaper]

This has to rival Dan Rather's "If we could be one-hundredth as great as you and Hillary Rodham Clinton have been in the White House, we’d take it right now and walk away winners..." for Best Raw, Obscene Sycophancy by a Media Stooge.

Getting back to the planet Earth
Why did Eric the Red decide to resign now?

“I do not find it a coincidence that Eric Holder chose now to resign after Judge Bates denied the request from the DOJ to delay the release of the Fast and Furious documents,” she said. “I personally think Eric Holder was really hoping that the documents would never be made public ...  hopefully the people involved are brought to justice. Eric Holder can run, but there will be no hiding.” - Kelly Terry-Willis

A federal judge has concluded that enough is enough, and the Department of Justice must respond properly to a federal Freedom of Information Act case brought over its handling of the Fast and Furious scandal.

U.S. District Court Judge John D. Bates ruled Wednesday that by Oct. 22, the DOJ must submit a “Vaughn index” listing Fast and Furious materials Judicial Watch sought in its June 2012 Freedom of Information Act request and a subsequent September 2012 FOIA lawsuit. [Full]

Apple's train is late ....

—  You  Berks

The first thing I saw yesterday morning when I woke and went to put sleep and weight data into my FitBit account, was an iPad update notice from Apple.  There was a very long list of improvements, and I was anxious to see whether, finally, Apple will allow me to delete all mail in a lump sum, instead of having to delete every blessed item individually (didn't see that included).  The second thing I noticed was that this update could not be installed because it required 6.9 GB of storage, and I had just 3.4 G.B. available.

WTF?
I rang up my list of items that used hardware storage that was under my control, namely Apps, and noted that if I deleted every single item it would free up just a shade over 2 GB. What's using the rest of my 32GB?  This is not like a PC, where you can just look at the contents, so I have no  clue.  What I do know is, that if I cannot install this update, then I will never be able to install any subsequent updates, which mens that in just 6 months after shelling out $600 for this iPad, it is obsolete. ????  Right?  I mean, it's not like a PC, where you can simply install more memory.  You're stuck.

Then I saw that Drudge had posted the "Warning, do not install iOS 8 update story, so maybe this update is so fkd'up that nobody with iPad Air can use it?  Anyone?

Now let me say that iPad is a glorious device.  Once you get the hang of how things work, it's efficient and fabulously intuitive.  Apple, then, makes the trains run on time;  but then so too did Mussolini.  It's fair to say that Apple is a benevolent dictatorship.  The user must adapt to a very rigidly controlled governing body that  allows virtually no freedom to cross the border into, say, squalid Mexico, where one might contract a STD.  It is the the nanny state personified.

The downside to Mussolini's government.
Here's an example of  what Applers must live with.  When I bought the iPad Air, I bequeathed my Gen 1 iPad to MoSup.  I foolishly returned it to it's original state, so that she could begin anew.  But guess what?  When we went to install the Apps she wanted, like Facebook, Kindle, NetFlix, etc., it was no longer possible.  "This app requires iOS 7 or higher"  was the response for everything. Even apps that iTunes App store showed as having been "purchased"  were rejected.  Not only can't she install Kindle, she can't install ANY book reader.  NADA.  She cannot install Firefox, or Chrome.

Yes, I spent hours browsing the web, where other iPadders were suggesting ways that might allow this or that, but I could find no Apple explanation for why programs that ran yesterday were no longer viable today?  They don't, evidently, have to explain themselves.

I'm actually writing this for Apple support's benefit, which assistance I am about to request; and posting it as an aside.

Is it a Boy?

THE SEED

Is it a Boy?

Michael Morton is Dubya

An Unreal Dream:
The Michael Morton Story

There are several films in the "convicted killer cleared" genre, but this is something special.  In the end, something that I always rail about in these caseswhere out of control prosecutors consciously ruin people's lives, but never see fulfilled does happen here.  It's very well done, and in retrospect was perfectly paced, and very uplifting.  As an aside, Michael Morton could make a very nice living portraying G.W. Bush in the movies.

Miss a Payment? Good Luck Moving That Car
Did the Unibomber die for our sins?

Ms. Bolender was three days behind on her monthly car payment. Her lender, C.A.G. Acceptance of Mesa, Ariz., remotely activated a device in her car’s dashboard that prevented her car from starting. Before she could get back on the road, she had to pay more than $389, money she did not have that morning in March. [FULL]

There's nothing I can say that your own fertile brains haven't already screamed into your head. As for my Unabomber lede (something an Austin TX grand jury may someday throw in my face), I'm not alone in recognizing his prescience re: techno-chills.
“Ted Kaczynski, the convicted bomber who blew up dozens of technophilic professionals, was right about one thing: technology has its own agenda. The technium is not, as most people think, a series of individual artifacts and gadgets for sale. Rather, Kaczynski, speaking as the Unabomber, argued that technology is a dynamic holistic system. It is not mere hardware; rather it is more akin to an organism. It is not inert, nor passive; rather the technium seeks and grabs resources for its own expansion. It is not merely the sum of human action, but in fact it transcends human actions and desires. I think Kaczynski was right about these claims. In his own words the Unabomber says: “The system does not and cannot exist to satisfy human needs. Instead, it is human behavior that has to be modified to fit the needs of the system. This has nothing to do with the political or social ideology that may pretend to guide the technological system. It is the fault of technology, because the system is guided not by ideology but by technical necessity.”’” [Here]
Of course, Ted also had a copy of Al Gore's book "Earth in the Balance?" in his hovel.  So, unless he was preparing a UPS package for Al in response, I guess he was, on balance, quite insane.

Fencing Lesson

Interestingly, neither Obama nor the Secret Service has issued any statement that the knife-wielding intruder was not part of an evil plot by Joe Biden to take over the presidency. If you know when to read between the lines, we think that says a lot.
The Secret Service is in some not-too-secret trouble following an incident Friday in which a man with a knife climbed over the White House fence, ran 70 yards across the lawn, and then entered the White House through an unlocked front door.
Fortunately, and entirely unsurprisingly, neither the president nor his family were in the White House at the time, having left for a weekend retreat at Camp David. Not that one man with a knife could really do much damage anyway without access to ISIS's YouTube account.

Still, this breach of security raises some troubling questions. For instance, why didn't the Secret Service react immediately, why didn't the White House snipers shoot the intruder, why weren't the trained guard dogs released, and is it too freaking much to ask Barry to lock the damn front door to OUR house when he sneaks off for more golf?!

Subsequently, the president has expressed "full confidence" in the Secret Service. Then again he also had "full confidence" that Assad wouldn't use chemical weapons, that Iran would stop trying to build nukes, that Putin would leave Ukraine alone, and that Al-Qaeda was "on the run."

Interestingly, neither Obama nor the Secret Service has issued any statement that the knife-wielding intruder was not part of an evil plot by Joe Biden to take over the presidency. If you know when to read between the lines, we think that says a lot.

The intruder, Omar Gonzalez, has now been given medical care, hot meals, counseling, comfortable lodging, a Swedish massage, aromatherapy, a full complement of welfare services .... [ Stilton Jarlsberg cont]

[Joe Bastardi, from Weatherbell Analytics]  commented that the protestors at the climate march were more concerned with their political agenda than climate science.

“If you really paid attention to what happened, the mask is off, and I appreciate that those people that organized this came out and let us know who they were. If you look at the list of people, Communist Party USA, Socialists. Fine, if you want to have that debate, that debate should be done at the polling place and should be done in the halls of Congress or try to change laws. It shouldn’t be prostituting the weather and climate for your own needs.”

Soros, Holder, Obama, Satan ...

Holder's Mustache

Unrepentant and unrelenting.

Those are the only words to describe the Obama Administration’s policy of targeting those who they view as political enemies.

The latest shoe to drop involves the Justice Department. Documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) reveal that the DOJ engaged in a coordinated effort with the far-left Soros goon squad, Media Matters, to target then-Daily Caller reporter Matt Boyle.

What was Boyle’s sin?

He was pursuing a story on whether elected officials were inclined to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for stonewalling Congress on the “investigation” into the Obama Administration’s botched Operation Fast and Furious sale of guns to Mexican drug cartels.  In a boomerang that only the most naïve could not have anticipated, criminals then misused those guns to murder U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Imagine that, a reporter in Washington, D.C. actually working a story and contacting congressional offices to determine their reaction to it?

Apparently to Holder and his Soros-minded cronies at Media Matters this type of activity could not be tolerated.

Sound familiar? [It should ....]

To put this in perspective, let's examine stuff that used to threaten the political careers of presidents and vice presidents.

Bobby Baker was a wheeler-dealer friend if LBJ, and appointed to Senate Secretary to the Majority Leader.  In September 1963, an investigation was begun by the Republican-led Senate Rules Committee into Baker's business and political activities. Baker was investigated for allegations of bribery using money allocated by congress and arranging sexual favors, in exchange for votes and government contracts. Criticized increasingly, Baker resigned as Secretary of the Senate on October 7, 1963.

Although Lyndon Johnson was not involved in Baker's business dealings after 1960, the Senate investigation looked into their questionable financial activities in the 1950s. This was such a problem for Johnson that there were rumors he would be dropped from the 1964 presidential ticket.[11] After word of the assassination of John F. Kennedy reached Washington on November 22, 1963, the Senate investigation was delayed. Thereafter, any investigation of Lyndon Johnson as part of the Baker investigation was dropped. wiki

This was non-stop news on both television and in print, which is why I even remember it.  'Nuff said.  By the by, did we mention that Soros donated $500,000 to the prosecution that gained Rick Perry's bullshit. indctment?

Robert BEEEEEE Reich!

                                                         (Little)

Clinton Labor Sec. Robert Reich: ‘Mostly white’ suburban county to blame for Detroit’s woes

DETROIT – In a recent Detroit Free Press op-ed, University of California-Berkeley Professor Robert Reich places the blame for the city of Detroit’s bankruptcy on the “mostly white” residents of Oakland County.

Detroit-in-ruins-15“But Detroit is really a model for how wealthier and whiter Americans escape the costs of public goods they would otherwise share with poorer and darker Americans,” Reich wrote. “ … But one thing is for certain: A very large and prosperous group close by won’t sacrifice a cent — the mostly white citizens of neighboring Oakland County.”

The reaction of one Oakland County official was that Reich, a former U.S. Secretary of Labor, didn’t know much about his chosen topic.

“That piece is clearly misinformed,” said Robert Daddow, Oakland County deputy county executive. “He doesn’t understand what he is talking about.”

By all accounts, the state and Oakland County are major stakeholders in Detroit. Here’s some things Reich overlooked about how county and state taxpayers help fund Detroit [HERE]

To give Reich his due, he was the nearest thing to someone with integrity in Willy Clinton's cabinet.  His socialist leanings, however, are so intense that idiocies like this are his stock and trade. Also, I don't mean to pick on Robert. B Reich for his diminutive  stature.  One of my greatest thrills in baseball was seeing Eddie Gaedel come to the plate. (Eddie kept his politics to himself.)

SNAILGATE

SNAILGATE: THE SLIME TRAIL LEFT BY THE ROYAL SOCIETY'S VANISHING CREDIBILITY

The story of the "extinct" giant snail - supposedly killed by global warming, but recently found alive and well on the same Indian Ocean atoll it has inhabited for the last 80,000 years - is developing into a major environmental scandal.
A scandal that obviously deserves the title Snailgate.

As we reported ten days ago under the heading Extinct Giant Snail Killed By Climate Change Crawls Back From The Dead, the sorry tale began in 2007 with the publication in one of the Royal Society's journals Biology Letters of a "peer-reviewed" study by Justin Gerlach.

Gerlach's study claimed that the Aldabra Banded Snail (Rhachistia aldabrae) had gone extinct in the late 1990s due to climate change.

However, this was immediately disputed by four experts in the field, led by Oxford University ecologist Clive Hambler who argued that there simply wasn't enough evidence to justify to claim, and urged Biology Letters to print their prepared rebuttal.
It said: "The vast majority of the habitat is virtually inaccessible and has never been visited. It is unwise to declare this species extinct after a gap in known records of ten years. We predict ‘rediscovery’ when resources permit.”

Had Biology Letters published this, it would have spared itself the embarrassment of being proved wrong this year when the snail was indeed rediscovered, alive and well, on its island home.

Instead, Biology Letters refused to publish the rebuttal on the grounds that it had failed to pass "peer-review."

Thanks to new research by Times environment correspondent Ben Webster, we now have an inkling as to how this may have happened. The two "peer-reviewers" who accepted the erroneous J Gerlach paper were the same two referees who rejected the subsequent rebuttal paper. Though their reasons for doing so are unclear, one evident possibility is that they did not wish to make themselves look foolish by accepting a paper explicitly rejecting the one they had so recently approved.

None of this would have come to light if the snail had stayed conveniently "extinct." Unfortunately for the Royal Society, Biology Letters, J Gerlach and those two "peer-reviewers", the resurrection snail has come back to haunt them by raising some very awkward questions.
