About Soros ...

The single biggest danger to democracy?

Exposing Soros

Lefty Businessman Spends Millions Funding Journalism

Reaching More Than U.S. Population: Every month, reporters, writers and bloggers at the many outlets Soros funds - from big players like NPR to the little known Project Syndicate and Public News Service, both of which claim to reach millions of readers - easily reach more than 332 million people around the globe. The population of the entire United States is less than 310 million.

Fox News is Target No. 1: Nearly 30 groups funded by the liberal billionaire have attacked Fox News in the six months since the beginning of December, 2010. Soros-funded media operations claim Fox News has a "history of inciting Islamophobia and racial and ethic animosity" and that it tries to "race bait its viewers."

If there is another Émile Zola out there, he'll play hell trying to get an open letter published by Soros's minions (Brit Hume did a nice job however).

The Koch Brothers (facts), on the other hand, send the left into paroxysmal latherings for "funding the right wing attack machine."  But ...

Obamanomics

Today's Thesis You Can Crib
Why Americans Hate Economics
In university classrooms—and especially the Obama White House—fancy theories of macroeconomics defy basic common sense.

... unemployment insurance
is one of the most direct ways to infuse
money into the economy because people who
are unemployed and  obviously  aren't earning
a paycheck are going to spend
the money that they get .

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney how
   increasing unemployment insurance "creates jobs."

Christina Romer, the University of California at Berkeley economics professor and President Obama's first chief economist, once relayed the old joke that "there are two kinds of students: those who hate economics and those who really hate economics." She doesn't believe that, but it's true. I'm surprised how many students tell me economics is their least favorite subject. Why? Because too often economic theories defy common sense. Alas, the policies of this administration haven't boosted the profession's reputation.

Consider what happened last week when Laura Meckler of this newspaper dared to ask White House Press Secretary Jay Carney how increasing unemployment insurance "creates jobs."  [Full]

Janeane Garofalo and Keith Olbermann -

The voice of black America: Janeane Garofalo

Jeff Poor reports: "Janeane Garofalo knows why long-shot Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is in the 2012 race. Not to be elected, or to shine a bright light on issues he wants to advance. No, says Garofalo: He's some sort of plant set up to insulate the GOP from charges of racism.

I really did not want to ever again display Keith Olbermann, but he is just indispensable if one wishes to employ, as Hillary Clinton suggested in her senior thesis, Alinsky's Rules for Radicals (Rule 5)

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

Sorry.

Perry and Palin sittin' in a tree ... .

Perry and Palin sittin' in a tree, A-G-R-E-E-I-N-G
It's anybody's guess whether Sarah Palin is actually going to run for president, but she sure isn't fading into the woodwork.

Many on the left and some on the right (most notably Karl Rove) have criticized Rick Perry for calling Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s monetary policy “treasonous.” But not everyone disagrees with the Texas governor. Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is one example. [Palin rips ‘arrogance’ of Obama’s reaction to Perry, still considering 2012 run]

Shawn Christ Threatened Palin And there's this:

Craig Christy and his son Shawn were arrested by the  FBI for making threats against Sarah Palin and her family.

Verizon Unionists

Union Boss:
"Not enough Verizon customers hate our guts.  Suggestions?"

Reading from prepared scripts and calling at predesignated times, retirees of the Communications Workers of America (CWA) are the newest recruits in the union’s strike against Verizon Communications, asked to flood service centers with complaints and questions to - in the words of one leader - “tie them up.” [Full Story]

CWA Verizon Strike
Communications workers' union protesting possibility of paying health premiums at Verizon
Boo f'n-hoo. Labor unions are as much responsible for the dire straits we find ourselves in as Oprah for financing the election of this socialist government. (Disclosure: I hate socialist scum). This is what it got them.
Obama Administration Denies Health Care for IUE-CWA Workers
Washington, Aug 5 - As the Obama Administration continues to push its health care plan, the federal government is already denying promised health care benefits to 50,000 Ohio workers, many of whom live in the Miami Valley. Today, many General Motors employees and their families are wondering what happened to their hard-earned health benefits. [

Greedy unions were directly
(YES, DIRECTLY) responsible for conditions that spelled ruin for our automobile industry, and its  nationalization by America's communist party. Do CWA members think they're somehow immune?  Here's something Americans can support however.

Aliens may destroy humanity to protect other civilisations from Climate Deniers

I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP
Aliens may destroy humanity to protect other civilisations from climate deniers

Actual Guardian Story

It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim.

Watching from afar, extraterrestrial beings might view changes in Earth's atmosphere as symptomatic of a civilisation growing out of control – and take drastic action to keep us from becoming a more serious threat, the researchers explain.

This highly speculative scenario is one of several described by scientists at Nasa and Pennsylvania State University that, while considered unlikely, they say could play out were humans and alien life to make contact at some point in the future.[PROOF that I am not making this up]

I'm passing this baton to Anthony Watts.

We need a little unity in America
right now, and that’s what Democrats
                                                     have been committed to under
                                                   President Obama's leadership.

Ron Paul attack ad

Did someone call Ron Paul supporters "nut cases?"

An Austin Ron Paul supporter has taken out a full-page ad in the local alt weekly newspaper seeking any "stripper ... escort ... or 'young hottie'" who has slept with Rick Perry, part of his single-minded jihad against the presidential candidate.

Robert Morrow describes himself as a "self-employed investor and political activist" as well as a three-time delegate to the Texas state GOP convention. [Full]

This reeks of  Debbie Wasserman Test, or Moveon.org, or CBS, but no. It's a Ron Paul supporter.  Millions of Americans confuse Libertarians with Lyndon LaRouche, and I can see why.

A vacation by any other name ...

Obama has taken 61 days of vacation so far ...”
CBS anchor Scott Pelley

Another "trip"

Which is all total bathwater.  Don’t know where they got their numbers (Dan Rather?), but they’re wrong.    All total, Barack Obama has spent more than 400 days on some type of absence from Washington.  Sometimes calling them “trips”, or “visits”, in our neck of the woods we call them vacation days.  Obama and the MSM are good at excusing Obama as they are now by calling his present absence a bus tour.  It’s a campaign tour, period.  Additionally he’s played 57 rounds of golf since taking office (29 of them in 2010) and gone on 28 basketball outings (20 of those coming in 2010)

In fact he’s spent more than half his time as President outside of Washington on various “tours”.   Additionally C-BS isn’t counting the 35 days Obama has spent at Camp David, whereas Bush’s Ranch was actually considered a working vacation with his staff. [C-BS Get’s Obama’s Vacation Days Wrong]

By the sheerest happenstance we ate dinner last night watching CBS Evening News (the last channel Mo-Sup watched). As usual when such insults occur,  I watched slack-jawed; applesauce and porkchop drool cascading, as Pelley droned on about the vacation kerfluffle. About how Obama had only taken taken just 61 vacation days after 31 months in office  (while Bush and Reagan took about 10,000).

This was misdirection by Pelley,  so he wouldn't have to talk about what a complete muck we're mired in.  Still, it was a challenge.  I knew Pelley's figures were wrong for two reasons— 1) This was CBS; 2) the numbers did not comport at all with my sense of things.  I mumbled something about "what they call vacations?" and "why in hell do you even watch CBS?" to MoSup (who  responded "IT WAS ON THAT CHANNEL! WHY DIDN'T YOU CHANGE IT!?").

I'll take this guy MacRanger's data at face value,  because it at least sounds reasonable, and somewhat researched. And, unlike everyone mimicking Pelley's numbers today, I have no reason to think MacRanger is filthy liar. In fact, I'm pretty sure he is not. Point-Set-Match!

Surprise. He Lied.

Rep. Joe Wilson 'YOU LIE!'YOU LIE

“You lie!” Republican Rep. Joe Wilson famously shouted at President Obama during a 2009 televised presidential address to a joint session of Congress.

The outburst, prompted by Obama pledging his health care reform bill would not benefit illegal immigrants, provoked outrage from liberals, not to mention a steely death-glare from then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. [Full]
Rep. Joe Wilson 'YOU LIE!'

It's still hard to believe anyone doubted the truth of Wilson's charge. If Obama's a Democrat, Obama's a liar. |  If you're used to watching C-Span's coverage of Parliament (House of Commons), you may even have been inured to impoliticness of it all.  The look on Pelosi's face was just precious; it's a wonder she finished her stint as Speaker without being caned. Comeuppance is a wonderful thing.

Judicial Watch wins ruling on FOIA

Visitor Logs Reveal

A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that White House visitor logs maintained by the U.S. Secret Service are agency records and, as a result, are subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act if not covered by one of the law’s many exemptions.

In a setback for the Obama administration, which had argued that the records did not have to be made public, U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell, in a 19-page opinion, sided with Judicial Watch, a Washington-based public watchdog organization, in a case challenging Secret Service arguments that the visitors’ logs were presidential records and, as a result, exempt from public disclosure.
