English: The Cow-Pock—or—the Wonderful Effects of the New Inoculation!—vide. the Publications of ye Anti-Vaccine Society

Print (color engraving) published June 12, 1802 by H. Humphrey, St. James's Street.
In this cartoon, the British satirist James Gillray caricatured a scene at the Smallpox and Inoculation Hospital at St. Pancras, showing Edward Jenner administering cowpox vaccine to frightened young women, and cows emerging from different parts of people's bodies. The cartoon was inspired by the controversy over inoculating against the dreaded disease, smallpox. The inoculation agent, cowpox vaccine, was rumored to have the ability to sprout cow-like appendages. A serene Edward Jenner stands amid the crowd. A boy next to Jenner holds a container labeled "VACCINE POCK hot from ye COW"; papers in the boy's pocket are labeled "Benefits of the Vaccine". The tub on the desk next to Jenner is labeled "OPENING MIXTURE". A bottle next to the tub is labeled "VOMIT". The painting on the wall depicts worshippers of Obama. Er, Golden Calf.

Cow Pock is a well spring of metaphors, depending on your disposition and outlook.  This seems an easy fit.

Adieu, ‘Mademoiselle’
France bans equivalent of ‘miss’ in government documents

Prior to the ban, women were referred to as either as madame (the English equivalent of Mrs.) or mademoiselle (the equivalent of Miss), depending on their marital status. Men are simply referred to as monsieur (Mr.).

The victory is one for the French feminists who earlier this year were able to eliminate the marital distinction from the town of Cesson-Sevigne. [Full]

I will presume to know a whole lot about Gillian McKeith.  If there is a prototypical look for aging hippie harpies, she has it. Nigella is all Donna Reed.  Teapartier, funny, and has a live-and-let-live philosophy.  Gillian McKeith would be repulsed by my very  pheromones and Reagan button. Did I say Fort Worth Texas in 1965?  I meant Tehran, Iran in 1965.  Check out the  Once Upon A Time in Iran slideshow. Once upon a time. Before the  Islamic theocracy.  Although not an Arab nation, like them Persia was also once a fount of advancements in the sciences, mathematics, literature, medicine, and  architecture.  Until things started going backwards for the Arabs in, oh, say the 7th century, AD.  What happened?  I'm just guessing here, but things do  tend to go to hell in a hand basket when people are yoked to a political system which presumes to govern every aspect of their lives. Like when the Ayatollahs snatched power in Iran in the late 1970s.

Illegal Shaving?

Illegal Shaving

Maryland swim team retroactively loses county title because of bizarre shaving violation

A Maryland girls swimming team has had its county championship title retroactively stripped for one of the more bizarre retroactive punishments to come down in recent years: It was deemed that improper shaving had occurred

That's right, improper shaving. Not shaving points mind you, but shaving of body hair. And, as it turns out, if the unnamed player implicated had only shaved a couple hours earlier, she and her teammates would still have their county title.

The reason why the NFHS institutes a no shaving on-site policy is to protect the swimmers themselves from possible blood transmission or, in general, doing full body shaves in high school locker rooms, which would maximize the possibility of unsafe practices like sharing razors.
[Full Absurdity]

My first instinct was to absolve Maryland of this nincompoopery, but no.  A hallmark of nanny-statism is the creation and enforcement of laws conducive to a risk-free, antiseptic world.  So, while this particular "illegal shaving" law may not seem to be their responsibly, it is.   We have by our votes,  created, coddled, and enabled a culture which has made these absurdities possible.  Blame then, lady swimmers, your Liberal state's policies for this loss.  And never-ever vote for a Democrat, so that others may live free of such fears and encumbrances.

A Modest Suggestion

More than 2,000 angry Afghans, some firing guns in the air, protested on Tuesday over the improper disposal of Qur’ans and other Islamic material at the U.S. base in Bagram north of Kabul.  U.S. Leaders Offer Abject Apologies to ‘the Noble People of Afghanistan’

Why is it that news of Muslum outrage makes me yawn?  This time caused  because some  Korans were inadvertently preserved in pig fat, or something.   When I see Muslms express outrage over12-year-old Christian schoolgirls being beheaded by Muslims—   because they are were Christian ( very graphic) , or express outrage when the Taliban rape and murder women (very graphic) because it suits them; then I'll then join with them in their rage.  Until then, I have a modest suggestion on how to handle these situations.  (Credit  to the British  army).

Montgomery County, MD - Asshats

The Liberal elite

How did the television show begin? "There are eight million stories in the wretched county ...?"

I'm sure every state has a Montgomery County. You know, where the state's liberal elite live.  In Virginia it's Fairfax Co;  in Texas,  I'll guess whatever county Austin is in.  Anyway, almost all of Maryland's Liberal horror stories begin in our Montgomery County.  A collection of old money, but mostly new liberal wealth derived from government contract dependent businesses.  Where state tax lucre are disproportionally funneled to maintain very generous government services, exquisite school campi, and buried power lines. And stuff like this.

“Occupy MoCo!,” one of the newest courses at Montgomery College in Montgomery County, Md., is part of the Summer Youth program offered for 2012.

In his E-mail alert, El Jefe said  "I.m surprised this wasn't Prince Georges County."  No, PG County is more the liberal plantation to Montgomery's manor house.  They'd be more into drive-by shootings than something as civilized as college credit anarchy.

GOOGLE HUD GLASSES

Perfect Gizmos and Gadgets

These were good enough for us,  and they're good enough for you!
we don't need no Google HUD glasses

The glasses are also expected to include a built-in low-resolution camera that could be employed in object and location identification. This would allow the glasses to overlay pertinent information about your surroundings—though there's are a bevy of privacy implications to be hashed out with everybody wearing, and potentially recording, everyone around them. "You will be able to check in to locations with your friends through the glasses," one Google employee added.

On the software side, the glasses will reportedly work with a large number of Google's services—including the Google cloud, Latitude, Goggles, and Maps—while displaying the information in a Heads-Up Display.

Presidential Bribes

Bribes Toted

Res Ipsa Loquitur
What does this have to do with Obama's misfeasance?  Nothing.  I wanted an offset to this tale of woe.  Something pleasant, but with proper gravitas.  I think the glove works to that end.

A presidential earmark is specified amount of taxpayer cash attached, by the president, to his proffered legislation, and designated for a particular congressman's district.  If the legislation doesn't pass, the congressman doesn't get the cash.  In other words, it's a bribe. And it's legal.  The Heritage Foundation just completed a study of Obama's earmarks, and guess what?

When you examine the recipients of those grants, there were at least 32 vulnerable house Democrats who received significant federal grant money during the run-up or directly after the votes on those pieces of legislation," says Lachlan Markay, one of the authors of the report.

The amount of earmarks spiked around the time of difficult votes such as cap and trade, then dropped, only to spike again around controversial financial regulations known as Dodd/Frank, and spiked the most just before the vote on the health care bill.

Cap and trade was tough for many Democrats, especially in the Midwest, because even the president acknowledged it would, as he put it, cause energy prices to "skyrocket."

The health care law remains controversial even today, with many polls showing majority of Americans oppose to it.

On their websites, lawmakers didn't advertise their votes, but did tout at length the money they'd gotten for various local projects.

We knew this was gong on at the time. Sen. Mary Landrieu's $300,000,000 (9 zeros)  was just for starters in the Obamacare vote.  Now we learn what Pelosi wrangled for House Democrats.  What will become of the Heritage report? Nothing.  What will become of Obamacare, passed against the nation's wishes?  Nothing.  Will Obama lose his presidency because voters are tired of his malfeasance, misfeasance, and in-you-face-feasances?   You'd think, wouldn't you?   .

A quite niggardly (for me) discourse

Res Ipsa Loquitur

I'm not making this up.  I'm around 10 years-old, walking down the street with best friends Timmy Hill (aka Mick), Tony Siciliano (Wop), and Joey Schmidt (Kraut).  Had we known any black guys, they'd be Spade.  Anyway. this old geezer guy stops us out of the blue and points - "How do you like my Dago shoes? ............  Wherever I go, Dago Get it?  Dago!"  He did a geezer chuckle  and walked away in a geezer shuffle.  We laughed our collective asses off,  and told that joke to everyone we knew. Even the Wop..  So when I read stuff like this ESPN editor getting fired Sunday for using "chink in the armor," in a headline about Knicks player Jeremy Lin, whose being a Chink was entirely incidental to said usage, I knee-jerk.

Remember the stink about using "niggardly?"

I've been through all this before.  It makes not a whit what I call someone.  It's HOW, and under what circumstances that count.  You know what I mean.  If you're a regular Chinese guy, you can be a chink.  If you're a Chinese Red Army guy, you're a MFCS chink bastid.  Pasty-face assholes be damned.

Fake Bonds in Fake Trunks???

Why Are There Trillions In Fake Bonds Held In Chicago Fed Crates?

While there is precious little in terms of detail coming out of the latest and literally greatest "fake" bond story in history, the BBC has been kind enough to release the pictures of the boxes that the supposedly fake bonds were contained in. While we reserve judgment on the authenticity of the bonds, what we wonder is whether the boxes were also fake. Because while we can understand why someone would counterfeit the Treasury paper itself, what we don't get is why someone would go the extra effort to also create a "fake" compartment in which to store it. In this case a compartment that is property of the "CHICAGO FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM." Perhaps Fed uberdove and Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will be kind enough to explain why Versailles Treaty Chicago Fed crates are floating around in Europe (and filled with $6 trillion in supposedly fake bearer bonds)?

Res Ipsa Loquitur

What is also interesting is that a simple google search for Mother Box Treaty of Versailles yields the following ....:

There are two sets of pictures here, The top one supposed to be fake and the bottom supposed to be real. The real one has two things that make me question it. Obama giving Russians Alaskan islands?

Obama Gives Seven Alaska Islands To Russia” ?

Res Ipsa Loquitur

The seven endangered islands in the Arctic Ocean and Bering Sea include one the size of Rhode Island and Delaware combined. The Russians are also to get the tens of thousands of square miles of oil-rich seabeds surrounding the islands. The Department of Interior estimates billions of barrels of oil are at stake.

The State Department (Hillary Clinton) has undertaken the giveaway in the guise of a maritime boundary agreement between Alaska and Siberia. Astoundingly, our federal government itself drew the line to put these seven Alaskan islands on the Russian side. But as an executive agreement, it could be reversed with the stroke of a pen by President Obama or Secretary Clinton.  Continued...

This is so far beyond the pale, even for Obama, that I can scarce believe it.  If it pans out, I will expect an immediate move to rid us of this presidency.  These people.  Call your congressman.
