DC GUN LAW OVERTURNED

Yayyyyyyyy- Booooooooo

Last Friday, the United States Solicitor General filed formal briefs asking the Supreme Court not to affirm the lower court’s decision. This is just outrageous. The Solicitor General is the Federal Government’s lawyer. So, now we have the federal government using our tax dollars to argue for a delay on a ruling concerning our fundamental rights. [Sign the Petition to Save the Second]

This is what drives me nuts about President Bush.  I know damned well that he supports the Second Amendment, yet once again a decision is made within his own administration to ... what?  Play devil's advocate?  Thwart the constitutional  right to bear arms so recently reaffirmed?  I don't get it.  He's got a State Department that works against him, a CIA that plots to undermine him, and a DOJ that - and this is not the first time - seems to be in bed with Moveon.org more than they are in touch with the American people.   After seven years in office I expected to see the accumulated Clintonfilth in these agencies peeled away, and some sense of order restored, but no. JFC! Click-click.

ADDENDUM: It is possible that this odd move is by design. Maybe Bush wants it to go to the SCOTUS now, where a decision can be chiseled into the national firmament  (as though it wasn't already). What else makes sense??

Next to amnesty failing to fire the Clinton appointees is the worst mistake he has made the have constantly worked to undermine his presidency.

You are in error when you say he supports the Second Amendment Rodger. He gives it lip service when it suits his purpose, and that is all. What is being done is happening because if the court gave a plain reading to the text of the Amendment and to Miller, it would legalize full auto weapons for every American citizen. The elite are more than a bit worried about that prospect.

Bush lets his executive agencies undercut him, because he is a weak President who lets his political handlers govern.

He should be as strong on dealing with bureaucrats who seek to undermine his policies (like a CIA employee leaking the surveillance of US-foreign calls to the NYT/Prada) as he has been with Afghanistan and Iraq.

I voted for Bush, not Rove, Andy Card, Prince Bandar, etc.

Also, never underestimate the power of AFSCME.

Even if the Repubs control the WH, the Senate and the House, the Dems, through AFSCME, control the government.

It's a sad thought.

Let's see....Bush abolished the Posse Comitatus act, signed executive orders for complete dictatorial powers, has sold the US out for the SPP.....

I don't know, maybe he sees a day comming soon where he (or his successor) might not want those pesky "subjects" to have any guns.....

I don't know....I'm just sayin'

Has it occurred to anyone besides me that Bush is not a conservitive, no not even a little tiny bit?

After seven years it seems to me we've been playing jailhouse bitch and all the while he and his administration never intended to do one single thing on the conservative agenda for us.

I voted for Bush in self defense against the crappers running against him. I would not vote for him if I had a better choice and no the Nut Ron Paul is not a better choice. But to say he has implemented dictatorial powers is nuts.Nor has he abolished Posse Comitatus in any fashion. Lets get a grip.
