Incredible.
The more I learn about Reagan, the more impressed I am with the man.
Such brilliant clarity in what he had to say. We could use someone like that now.
Reagan had real world experience fighting real communists for control of the Screen Actors Guild. That steeled him immensely, not only for the fights ahead, but with the ability to see through the smoke screen leftists lay down to obscure their only end -- absolute power without dissent.
Bush was great in Israel

Thank you for posting the Reagen speech...I saved it...I love your blog.
Yeah, this is great. However, if you pay attention, there is a rather "scary" aspect to it. This speech was over 40 years ago and so many of the dire admonitions have NOT come true. "...this program doesn't work..." or "...it's out of money...". Those programs are still with us and many of us on the right bemoan them. Nevertheless, the world has not ended because we haven't gotten rid of payment-in-kind et al. Love(d) the man and his philosophies but the truth is there to observe.
The welfare state that evolved to save those programs was unthinkable back then. In fact, every elected democrat in congress today would have been tarred with the "communist" label in 1964. In sum, this is not the same country we had in 1964. Not even close. Which is why I hve no compunction against nuking the DNC (in the good way, of course).
God...........I miss him so much. He is the reason that I am a conservative. I no longer consider myself a Republican. No where to go, since men of great vision and leadership don't exist in the political class anymore.
One great democrat said that liberty must be nutured with the blood of patriots (something to that effect) and that revolution was a necessary option from time to time. We are rapidly headed down that road.
The issues today are clouded by the constant haranging about a persons gender or pigmentation. I don't give a damn about that. I care about the values and positions the person retains.
I wish J.C. Watts would come out of retirement. If they want to consider pigmentation, at least I can have my God fearing conservative values embodied in that man.
