Today's Howler

A Man Among Wolves

This is a short clip freon the National Geographic video about Shaun Ellis, the eccentric who lived as a wolf.  Unlike  Grizzly Man Timothy Treadwell, who was hilariously eaten by Grizzlies, Ellis is no whining animal rights wacko.  Instead, he works to find ways to allow wolf and man co-exist.  Utterly fascinating. You can find the NG trailer here. I can't find info on future airings.  If anyone does, I'd appreciate a shout-out, because Mo-Sup wants to see it.  She loves it when I bite her muzzle.
UPDATE:
You can watch, or download the entire video HERE
I prepaid the $200,000 group fee, so enjoy.:)

Roger that was great. Loved it. "Never Cry Wolf" was another eye opener into wolf/dog behavior. Good one, Thanks.

That alpha male really wolfed down his meal.

I don't think it is right to say "Timothy Treadwell, who was hilariously eaten by Grizzlies."
No matter how foolish you may think the man was, that had to have been a horrible death. And his female companion got killed too. This Shaun Ellis guy is so obsessed with wolves it ruined his life with his wife and four children. That's insane.
Sadly, I think the guy is a Treadwell waiting to happen.

Anonymous, I've thought about it some more, and I have to agree completely.

Timothy Treadwell getting eaten by grizzlies was definitely humorous. I mean, what kind of gonad takes a female friend over to play touchie feelie with wild grizzlies? And to do it during a time of years when the bears need to eat in preparation for winter hibernation!

That's just pure, grade A, refined, condensed and concentrated stupidity. And that makes it funny. This gem of humour is perfectly encapsulated in a skit by Groucho Marx:

Patient: "Docter, it hurts when I do this"

Docter: "Well then, don't do that"

As for Mr Ellis, he does seem a little overly dedicated to the detriment of other things but one thing he has going for him that the belated Mr "the bear snack" Treadwell didn't is that wolves are social animals, unlike, you know, wild bears?

If Mr Treadwell was a retard instead of a rational, mature man then it wouldn't have been funny.

No, wait... he had to have been a retard and it's still funny because most people assumed he wasn't.
