Supposedly bears are very good dogs. But somehow I don't see that one as tamed.

I have had the pleasure of bottle-feeding baby black-bears.

Yes, I fully realize that bears are very strong, and also very dangerous. But still, when young they are so wonderful and they do get to know you. I visited those cubs 5 times over a 6-week period, and by the third visit, they knew who I was. Maybe they "knew" I was, at least in spirit, a fellow bear.

A dream of mine is to live far enough out in the country to have bears in the area. I'd not try to be their buddy like that fool who ended up getting torn up and eaten for his troubles, but just having them around and seeing them now and then would be a pleasure.
