The UN - Again

Against the Wall MoFo's

Is there a difference between an al- Qaeda or UN presence in the United States?  Yes there is.  The UN is the greater threat.

In 2004 House democrats petitioned for the UN to monitor the coming election.  Jummy Carter joined the chorus, arguing it was necessary -- to forestall another stolen  presidency.  The request was bumped to Sec. State Colin Powell who obviously acceded,  because Bush asked Kofi Annan to send his blue helmets.  (I'm not making this up)

In retrospect, I'll guess that Bush was assured by brother, and Florida governor Jeb, that the delegation would not be allowed within 60 feet of a polling place, and figured to triangulate in yet another of his many such political miscalculations.  My expressed feeling at the time was that the UN delegation be set afire on first contact.  What an insult to US sovereignty!

Given this current government, how can I be gobsmacked by anything?  But I am no less outraged to learn that the United Nations Investigator Launches Probe Into US Housing Crisis. Neither do I think it the intention to interrogate Democrats on the House and Senate banking committees. Nope. It's another nose under the tent. Since it's not a given today that you'd get a medal for shooting bin Laden on sight, I guess that ...  you know.  Sigh.  Impeaching Obama will have to suffice.

And there's a downside!?

We need to withdraw from the UN, expel its diplomats and other foreign personnel, and bulldoze the building into the East River.

I was arguing with a liberal compatriot a few months ago about the UN and, when I asked him to name 3 good things that it did, the conversation ended.

I, too, was bothered by UN "monitoring" of our elections a few years ago.

"...and bulldoze the building into the East River."

molonlabe28,

It'd be much more satisfying to do that with said UN "diplomats" etc still inside.

The Blue Helmet makes a handy aim point.

7.62mm NATO round at 200 yards, just saying.
