American Civic Knowledge Survey
TRPKOF&S

Both the ancient Greeks and Romans valued wise and public-spirited citizens. Let’s see just how wise you really are? Are you a Barbarian, Philosopher King, or something in-between?

I know.  I missed the easiest one.  Gah!  I'm hideous; don't look at me.

I missed "Marbury vs. Madison." It's early, and there were a lot of M's.

I too am a Philosopher King. Was there any question? Now send her over to my place.

10/10 - Philosopher-King (yay me!).

While I can't prove it empirically, I suspect that the vast majority of high schoolers and college students would fail the test - let alone achieve 'Philosopher-King' status.

I am saddened that it appears that we must watch the dissolution of The Republic in our lifetime.

I humbly extend my apologies for being so maudlin, on this, the day dedicated to the efforts of better men than myself to fight for & die to help preserve this Republic. I shall raise a shot of Johnny Blue in their honor tonight.

The ukelele and breasts have removed any doubts that the Republic is alive, doing well and a wonderful place to be.

What's she playing on the ukelele?

Bach's "Air on a G-string" ;-)

In ancient Greece, this was Plato’s ideal ruler in The Republic; combines both wisdom and power.

9/10, so I can't be president. Can I be benevolent dictator of Colorado?

Stupid Test - I scored a 10/10 and I didn't get a girl with a ukulele. My boss didn't give me a raise. Congress didn't call and ask my opinion on anything today. My kids still don't listen to me. The sun did not come out from behind the clouds that have been depressing me all day. No rainbow farting unicorns with saddle bags full of gold showed up in my back yard. Fox did not bring back Firefly and my car didn't start getting 50 mpg...

Not gonna say how I did,
but at least I beat Rodge.

RE PROTOCOL

One usually does not beat the King in tennis; and certainly does not advertise afterwards.

Ahem

will you marry me?

Sorry, Rodge ...
A Philosopher-King beats a King of France, real or otherwise.
Let's just hope we don't meet an ace, eh?
