Max
is exactly right, All
he did is force his political views which ruined a lot of episodes.
I also agree the first
few seasons were the best when it was actually funny and before Alan
Alda turned the Pierce character became some liberal political
activist. [Comment on Alan

Over
the years I've done a number of Simpson
centric posts. Lately they've turned from being celebratory
in nature, to a commentary on the culture
war. A few months ago I did a little
investigating.
I'd already made the case for it's decline
into the dark side, postulating that— well, allow me
to quote myself.

The Simpson's has become decidedly
more political - and leftist - lately. As I said once before, I think
it's in response to South Park, whose creators while not Republicans,
do hate Liberals, and often poke fun at the Simpsons. Speaking for
myself, I look at everything through a political prism anymore, and
hate that it's come to that. But, it has. Lisa

In April 2008 some lefty site was gaga over this video,
where Homer
tries to vote for Obama, but the machine keeps changing his vote to
McCain. Grudgingly I admitted that the production values were spot on,
and figured whoever produced it must be connected to the film
industry. Little did I know. On the 2008
season premier, the Sunday before election day, the show opened with
the very same clip. Horry Clap!
The Simpsons had come right
out and endorsed Obama. Not just endorsed him; handed him
multi-millions of dollars worth of endorsement.
I've wanted to find an epiphanal moment when Homer went
Red. As it turns out, it's Lisa who's the commie, well, the
alter-ego of commie producer Al Jean. Below, some pertinent
snippets form his Wikipedia
profile.

Lisa
Simpson is one his favorite characters to write for.[17] She is the
character he [Al Jean] relates the most to because of their similar
childhoods
and [ideal character to portray his leftist political values].
The first episode Jean ... ran (as the show's "runner") was "Mr. Lisa
Goes to Washington"
(aired September 19, 1991) (He left a few years later for other stints).
Jean's return was initially welcomed, with MSNBC's Jon Bonné stating:
"Jean, who took the show's helm from executive producer Mike Scully in
2001, has guided the show away from its gag-heavy, Homer-centric
incarnation...these are certainly brighter days for the show's
long-time fans."[33] However, some critics have argued that the quality
of the show has declined in recent years during Jean's tenure

Since Al Jean took the show's reins, scarcely an episode airs without
that little bitch Lisa's uber liberal propagandizing. Last night
I
noted four unwatched episodes of the Simpsons on my
DVR. Wow, that's something that would never have happened in the
past, when Sunday night at 8:00 found me glued to the show, live.
I began
watching the first one, I don't remember what it was, but a few minutes
in, Lisa showed her red ass and I deleted the lot. Removed it
from the schedule. Just one more thing ratbastard Liberals
have
ruined in my life.
