Best Sphincter Strangling Series- Air Disasters (Smithsonian)
Really.  I've found myself gripping chair arms during most of these.

Great War Diaries (Episode 1 BBC Documentary 2014)
Based on letters and journals, many of which have never been published before, this tells the story of 1914-18 solely through the eyes of those who lived through it. Bringing together 25 broadcasters from around the world, this is television's global event for the centennial of World War I.

Our World War
The series makes use of modern film techniques like fixed, body-mounted cameras and overhead battle scene animations, alongside a modern soundtrack featuring artists such as PJ Harvey, to attract a new audience. While some reviewers described this as "powerful"[1] and "beautiful",[2] others felt it trivialised the subject matter[3] and would quickly date.[4] (Reviewed)

Generation War (German)
The series tells the story of five German friends, aged around 20, on their different paths through Nazi Germany and World War II: As Wehrmacht soldiers on the Eastern Front, war nurse, aspiring singer, and Jewish tailor respectively. The narrative spans over five years starting in 1941 Berlin, when the friends meet up for a last time before embarking on their journeys, enthusiastically vowing to meet up again the following Christmas. The story's conclusion is set in a time shortly after the end of the war in 1945/46.

Best Gearhead
Wheeler Dealers
The boys have set up shop in Los Angeles.  This "rat car" blew my mind.   Eddward China is the TV man I'd most like to have as a friend. Brilliant.

Fantom Works
Out of Norfolk, VA, it's is a close second if, like Wheelers you like restoration details.  Would be first if they concentrated on just one car per episode.

Top Gear, with Jeremy,  RIP.

Thanks!

I found World War II from Space interesting. It gives a space station's view of entire battles and campaigns.

Also Nazi Mega Structures, which includes an entire jet (yes) fighter base inside a mountain!

Yeah, but they are straight documentaries, and there's .74 million of them.

Watched Peaky Blinders yet, Rodge? By the way...I want your opinion Rodger. I have found myself nearly skipping forward when anyone but Reddington is on screen on blacklist. Is Keen at all as insufferable to you as she is to me?

i purchased "Better Caul Saul" on iTunes and thoroughly enjoyed the first season. As a prequel to "Breaking Bad", the first season had to delve into the protagonists past for proper viewer understanding, but I'm looking forward to a repurchase next season. From what I understand Netflix is airing it internationally now and will show it in the states in the coming months.

Josh - Peaky is in the queue. Re Reddington: Yes, James Spader's character so dominates the series that 5 minutes without him is tedious, and that includes much of Keen's presence. One reviewer wrote "I’d like to suggest the alternate title Elizabeth Keen and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Life." YES!

But she can't hold a candle to Jack Bauer's daughter Kim. If I'm the screen writer for "24" I'd have killed her off (in some horrible way) in the first series. Actually, I have wanted to eliminate every one of the women Jack Bauer slobber over; what a distraction.

Couldn't agree more on all of that. Watch Peaky Blinders though, Rodge. I honestly think you'll love it.

Josh and Rodge,
Thanks for the Peaky Blinders tip. Definitely going to try it out. Already know Cillian Murphy and Sam Neil from movies.

It's well acted all around Juice. Let us know when you've watched it, love to hear what you think.
