If Barrett Is Picked, Two Senators Should Bail If President Trump chooses to nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, two senators should recuse themselves: Dick Durbin and Dianne Feinstein. Senators Durbin and Feinstein have already evinced an anti-Catholic bias, thus disqualifying themselves from voting on Judge Barrett's suitability to serve on the Supreme Court. In September 2017, I wrote to the two of them about their bias; they showed their hand when questioning Barrett about her qualifications to serve on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. On September 6, 2017, Senator Durbin asked Barrett, "Do you consider yourself an orthodox Catholic?" Durbin, a product of 19 years of Catholic-school training, confessed that he did not know what the term "orthodox Catholic" meant. He was being more than coy. An orthodox Catholic is someone who accepts the teachings of the Catholic Church. That would obviously exclude Senator Durbin: he champions abortion rights, something the Church calls "intrinsically evil." More important, his question was meant as a red flag: He was signaling to his base that Barrett is a hard-line Catholic, someone whose strongly held religious beliefs will determine her decisions. Senator Feinstein was worse. "When you read your speeches," she said to Barrett, "the conclusion one draws is that the dogma lives loudly within you." In response, I wrote to Senator Feinstein stating, "No one was fooled by your question. Why didn't you come right out and ask her if she takes her judicial cues from the Vatican? That would have been more honest." When Barrett testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee last fall, she pointedly said, "I see no conflict between having a sincerely held faith and duties as a judge. I would never impose my own personal convictions upon the law." (My italic.) Indeed, in 1998 she co-authored a journal article saying that if a Catholic judge is caught in a dilemma when considering a capital punishment case—having to choose between his faith and rendering a fair legal judgment—he should recuse himself. Senators Durbin and Feinstein have been down this road before. They made clear their anti-Catholic bias 13 years ago when they questioned John Roberts about his suitability to serve on the Supreme Court. Durbin told CNN that we need to "look at everything, including the nominee's faith." Feinstein asked Roberts if he shared President John F. Kennedy's conviction about not mixing church and state. If Durbin and Feinstein had a record of asking all candidates for the high court about their religion, they would not be open to the charge of anti-Catholicism. But they do not. It is just Catholics whom they probe. If Judge Amy Coney Barrett is President Trump's pick, Senator Dick Durbin and Senator Dianne Feinstein have a moral obligation to recuse themselves. Franken Agonistes Rush, yesterday, had a different take on Al Franken's resignation from the Senate (with Elizabeth "Pocahontas" Warren's plea being pivotal), than do I.  Rush's explanation was that the Dems are going to position  themselves as the party that cares about women -- as opposed to misogynist Roy Moore loving Republicans.  No. It's significant that Pocahontas was the "swing" plea.  Because, Elizabeth Warren, along with a dozen other Donks, sees herself as the Party's 2020 presidential nominee.  It's no secret that  Al Franken was also seriously considering a run himself.  And, he had significant backing.   I know this. I was scared to death of Franken.  He's the only Dem pol with charisma. He's  a polished debater who can couch any argument in humor.  There is nobody else on the horizon who can match him.  Pocahontas is nothing more than the self serving bitch we all have come to despise.  Thank you Ms. Warren.

The Russians Hacked Democrats’ Plans to Cheat in the General Election, Too A New York Times report on Saturday claimed that FBI Director James Comey decided to reveal that he was re-opening the investigation into Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton because he suspected Attorney General Loretta Lynch was covering up for her — and because an email found by Russian hackers seemed to support those suspicions. Now, according to the Times, another hacked document, purportedly stolen by Russians, may have revealed collusion between the former Attorney General and the Democrats to ensure Hillary Clinton’s victory in the general election. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton because he suspected Attorney General Loretta Lynch was covering up for her — and because an email found by Russian hackers seemed to support those suspicions. The Times’ investigative report suggests that a U.S. intelligence agency managed to intercept some of what Russian hackers were stealing — and that one document, “described as both a memo and an email, was written by a Democratic operative who expressed confidence that Ms. Lynch would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far.” Now, according to the Times, another hacked document, purportedly stolen by Russians, may have revealed collusion between the former Attorney General and the Democrats to ensure Hillary Clinton’s victory in the general election. According to the Times, Comey feared that Lynch — who had insisted the Clinton probe be referred to as a “matter” and not as an “investigation,” and who suggested it the investigation was not criminal when, in fact, it was — would declare the case closed, and then Russian hackers would leak the document to undermine the FBI’s image of independence. The Times notes: “Mr. Comey’s defenders regard this as one of the untold stories of the Clinton investigation, one they say helps explain his decision-making.” And if a local news reporter in Phoenix had not caught Lynch meeting with former President Bill Clinton, she might have succeeded in sheltering the Clintons even more effectively than she had. When Comey’s letter to Congress about the re-opening of the investigation was revealed on October 28, it changed the contours of the presidential race — arguably by uniting reluctant conservatives around Donald Trump’s candidacy. FBI Now Says Dems Were Behind Hack Investigation Delay

The FBI struck back at the Democratic National Committee on Thursday, accusing it of denying federal investigators access to its computer systems and hamstringing its investigation into the infiltration of DNC servers by Russia-backed hackers.

“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated. This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information,” a senior law enforcement official told BuzzFeed News in a statement. “These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier.”

The DNC said the FBI had never asked for access to their hacked servers, BuzzFeed News reported on Wednesday.

A DNC source familiar with the investigation tried to downplay that report on Thursday, hours before the FBI statement was issued. The fact that the FBI didn’t have direct access to the servers was not “significant,” the source said.

“I just don’t think that that’s really material or an important thing,” the source continued. “They had what they needed. There are always haters out here.”

She said she acted in solidarity with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has refused to stand for the national anthem all season in protest of police brutality and racial oppression in the United States. Nasheed said she wants to call attention to those issues and isn't "anti-America." Nasheed's protest was met with silence in the chamber, unlike Kaepernick, who has been booed for kneeling during the anthem. Congratulations Jamilah.  You are today's poster girl for why the nation as a whole is fed up with antics like this, and will likely send  Donald Trump to the White House with the most lopsided victory and mandate in U.S. history.

The lawsuit, filed in June 28, alleged “that Wasserman Schultz and the DNC were fraudulent, negligent and misrepresented their true motivations in the Democratic presidential primary,” according to UPI. Lucas was found unconscious in his bathroom by his girlfriend, Savannah King on August 2 and authorities have refused to say how he died. So rapists, burglars, armed robbers and drug dealers aren’t criminals anymore. These folks are simply “involved” with “justice,” according to Obamanoids. THE WAR ON AMERICA TURNS 50 Half a century ago, Democrats looked at the country and realized they were never going to convince Americans to agree with them. Ted Kennedy passed an immigration law that has brought 59 million foreigners (Ed:non European) to our shores, who happen to vote 8-2 for the Democrats. Democrats haven't won any arguments; they changed the voters. If anything, the Democrats have stopped bothering to appeal to Americans. Democratic political strategists Ruy Teixeira and John Judis have been gloating for 20 years about how post-1965 immigration would soon produce a country where Republicans could not win an election, anywhere. Then Democrats could do whatever they want. They called the new emerging majority "George McGovern's Revenge." Republicans should be sweeping the country, but they aren't, because of Kennedy's immigration law. Without post-1965 immigrants bloc-voting for the Democrats, Obama never would have been elected president, and Romney would have won a bigger landslide against him in 2012 than Reagan did against Carter in 1980. This isn't a guess; it's a provable fact. Obama beat Romney by less than 5 million votes in a presidential election in which about 125 million votes were cast. More than 30 million of Obama's votes came from people who arrived under Teddy Kennedy's immigration law; fewer than 10 million of Romney's did. The 1965 act brought in the poorest of the poor from around the globe. Non-English-speaking peasants from wildly backward cultures could be counted on to be dependent on government assistance for generations to come. Kennedy and other Democrats swore up and down that the new immigration law would not change the country's demographics, but post-1965-act immigrants are nothing like the people who already lived here. As Pew Research cheerfully reports, previous immigrants were "almost entirely" European. But since Kennedy's immigration act, a majority of immigrants have been from Latin America.
