Could our republic be on its last legs? Irrespective of election results? If the judicial system continues to usurp power it doesn’t rightfully possess, then America’s current system can’t last much longer, according to Conservative Review senior editor Daniel Horowitz. “We will not survive another few years as a republic, irrespective of who wins this election, if the courts are not stripped of their power,” Horowitz declared during a recent appearance on the Mark Levin Show. Indeed, the nation is reaching a “cathartic moment in our history where elections don’t matter,” according to Horowitz. This is because unelected judges are deciding most major social and political questions with finality. Horowitz details the danger posed by the courts in his new book “Stolen Sovereignty: How to Stop Unelected Judges From Transforming America.” Levin praised the book, calling it “a must-read” and “a terrific book” and deeming Horowitz “one of the smartest young men in the conservative movement today.” Horowitz said he was inspired to write the book by two distinct events that happened Sept. 3, 2015. That was the day Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk Kim Davis was thrown in jail for refusing to violate her Christian faith by issuing “marriage” licenses to same-sex couples. This came after the Supreme Court in June created the constitutional “right” to homosexual marriage. [FULL] Right now Liberals have appointed approx.  52% of all federal judges. If Dems win this election that percentage is expected to reach 76%.  I have here quoted Jefferson's admonition (about watering the Tree of Liberty with the blood of rancid government) so often that I fear it's reached proper triteness.  And, after all, who wants to .. you know. The risk our founders took is way under appreciated.

I joke about the Nobel Peace Prize a lot, because the NPP is a joke.  What it ought be awarded for is promoting ideas that save  lives, and advance peace; not for being the best anti-American American.  Someone like me.  I am not joking.  Someone like me; a man with a plan, who recognizes a coming maelstrom, and solutions it. “   The latest ObamaCare ruling, this time from a district judge in Washington, D.C., is here (PDF). Legally, it does not break new ground. Like the other Democratic-nominated judges to get the issue, she finds the health care mandate plenty justified by the Commerce Clause. The Republican-nominated judges to get the case found that it wasn't. The split is one of worldview. For many Democrats the federal government's power is nearly unlimited or should be. To sum up, at least half of us wouldn't piss on Obama to see the splash (with Obama standing for all American "Progressives,").  We are facing one of two scenarios; civil war, or the expulsion of some states. Yes, I've talked this walk before, but this is where I break new ground. The new United States do  not have to be contiguous!  Now it's easy.  We don't hate Massachusettsians (Ahem); we just don't want any of them having a say in our law making; and vice versa.  We can maintain common borders, but not a common government.  Nor a  common currency, what with theirs being worthless.  The surviving United States will be a federal republic, but a confederation - where the states maintain the sovereignty, which, again, was clearly the original intent..  We can continue to enjoy the good parts of each other, but not a shared governance.  Vie for tourist dollars, etc.  You want a Nancy Pelosi?  No skin off our backs, but beware - we don't  give foreign aid.  No lives lost.  Happiness all around. You're welcome, your applause means everything a lot.  Ahem.

After two and half days of deliberation, the jury returned a guilty verdict and Aitken was convicted and sentenced to seven years in prison! Governor Christie  commuted Brian’s sentence to time served. It's stuff like this that can, and likelly will someday, trigger a peasant's revolt. All these crises are hitting America at once -- a perfect storm of crises.  [Drudge] ” I'm not sure Buchanan is capable of  even-handed  criticism where the Bush family is concerned, and I reject his charge that "Bush’s invasion of Iraq was a product of hubris and of ideology, a secular religion of “democratism, to which Bush was converted in the days following 9/11”.  There are lots of other things Buchanan and I disagree on, but on certain things he's spot on .  But wait!  Why am I talking this way?  The culture war has now  advanced to the point where we are an irrevocably split nation.  I don't think a public debate, refereed as it will be by a left dominated media, can be constructive any longer.  Perhaps Buchanan has the solution here: “ To reach a cold peace in the culture war, Buchanan urges a return to federalism and the overthrow of our judicial dictatorship by Congressionally mandated restrictions on the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. ” I'm sure he meant "overthrow" in the good way.  :)

We'd have is a 5-3 court, at worst. That's 5 Americans v. 2 leftwing reprobates, and a wishy-wash Kennedy. If that happened I'd hope the court would  hear every lightning rod case on the books next term..  Roe, the Commerce Clause, McCain-Feingold, Environment, OSHA, private probperty, prayer in school, state anti-gun laws ...  all of them.  I like the odds.

My brain's been pestering me to do the remarkable comparison between Hillary Clinton's Peter Paul case, and Robert "The Torch" Torricelli's David Chang caper. This morning I gave in to brain and started collecting data. Whoa. It seems my brain's been down that road before.  Like 5 years ago. Holy crap.  This thing has been in the works that long?  Since I started, allow me to continue.  There are updates.  BTW, I believe this sword hanging over Hillary's head is one of the reasons Democrats invented Barrack Obama. Let's compare. The Torch Korean-American businessman David Chang was already serving a federal prison sentence for making illegal campaign contributions to Torricelli’s 1996 campaign. Sen. Robert Torricelli, despite  being accused of accepting money from a man  already convicted of giving him that money, blithely ran for re-election.   Finally,  but only after polls showed the Torch would lose to the Republican challenger Doug Forrester, did the democrat party "convince" him to bow out.  The Torch was never prosecuted. Her Filthiness Hollywood mogul Peter Paul has multiple convictions for everything from drugs to securities fraud.  Like every other well heeled crook at the time, he was trying for a Clinton pardon.  His method of payment: funneling illegal campaign contributions to Hillary.  He ran a fundraiser,nominally to thank Bill for his great presidency, but in reality for Hilly. Two days after the gala, the Washington Post publicized Paul's criminal record, and Hillary Clinton denied knowing Paul and "vowed not to take any contributions from him". Through her official spokesman, Howard Wolfson, Hillary stated on August 16, 2000 that she would return $2,000 she reported receiving from Paul in June 2000, and would not have anything further to do with him. [Wikipedia] It wasn't $2000.  It was $700,000, and she didn't return, or report it. Clinton’s National Finance Director David Rosen was indicted over it.  Hillary claimed she was not involved in the fund raiser, and knew nothing about it.  Knowingly soliciting a contribution of $25,000 or more is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. In a lawsuit against Hillary, Paul produced a smoking-gun videotape showing Hillary Clinton expressing enthusiasm about the event and telling Paul to contact her aide any time to further plan details. Incredibly, the California courts are so far not allowing that videotape to be used in court, as part of a lawsuit filed by Paul. The national media have ignored the case, so there has been no public outrage.  What a surprise “ Notwithstanding more than six years of consistent allegations made by Hillary’s largest donor that Hillary broke campaign laws and then obstructed all investigations into her illegalities - causing the unnecessary indictment and trial of her campaign functionary, David Rosen for supposedly hiding information from Hillary that she in fact had full knowledge of- Hillary has never been accountable. ” Incredible.  David Rosen, just as Webb Hubbel had earlier, was willing to take prison, and loss of his good name and career, to save a Clinton.  Webb was repaid with Riady cash; we don't know yet what Rosen received,  (He is still breathing,however). The article reports that Alvarado-Veliz “knew he had to flee Guatemala or be killed. So he sneaked back into the United States.” Why did he come here, rather than Mexico, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, or any number of other places? Because only the United States is crazy enough to grant asylum to somebody because they are a gang member:     Now the 23-year-old is sitting in an Arizona immigration detention facility after an arrest related to charges of marijuana possession and driving on a suspended license.
