Recruiting Commies

Mary Landrieu is asking for only 7.9 days' worth of the American economy ...

       WHAT GUMMINT DOES

Pretty soon we're talking serious money - Dirksen

“
This is too true to be funny.
The next time you hear a politician use the
Word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
Whether you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
But one advertising agency did a good job of
Putting that figure into some perspective in
One of it's releases.

A.
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

B.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were
Living in the Stone Age.

D.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

E.
A billion dollars ago was only
8 hours and 20 minutes,
At the rate our government
Is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain....
let's take a look at ... New Orleans ...
It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

Louisiana Senator,
Mary Landrieu (D)
Is presently asking Congress for
250 BILLION DOLLARS
To rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number...
What does it mean?

A.
Well .. If you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
(every man, woman, and child)
You each get $516,528.

B.
Or... If you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

C.
Or... If you are a family of four...
Your family gets $2,066,012.

Washington , D. C

I'm wary of facts presented in those harlequin colored, gigantic sized font e-mail blasts we all get, because it's likely that at least some of the content is misstatement, or outright falsehood.  This one (from Metzger- who was just a relay and not the designer) was intriguing enough to throw it against the Google wall and see what stuck.  I got only as far as this from  Daily Kos.  A Conservative Email, And A Polite Rebuttal.  Of all the charges made I expected the numbers would be picked apart, probably using SNOPES, a favorite agitproppist tool.  But no.  Here is the crux of the response.

Yes, a billion seems like a very large number, especially as presented in the email below. Let's not forget, however, that the U.S. economy generates 11.5 trillion dollars in output every year - that's practically $365,000 every second of every minute of every hour of every day of every week of every year. By the method below of reckoning how much a billion is, Mary Landrieu is asking for only 7.9 days' worth of the American economy to rebuild one of its formerly premier cities. 7.9 days is not much! That's a vacation to a lot of people.

The rest of his screed travels the same state road (to serfdom, ahem).

- There was no Social Security.  If you had no money when you got too old to work, you lived off of your family, or you starved.

- There was no Medicare.  If you got sick and couldn't afford to pay the doctor, you died before your time.

- There was no Medicaid.  If you were poor and sick and couldn't afford to pay the doctor, you died.

- There were no governmental administrations mandating workplace safety; if you got injured on the job, and hundreds of thousands did every year, tough luck - your employer didn't have to take care of you and you couldn't sue them.  They got off scot-free while you starved.

A chasm so wide as to be unbridgeable,  I'd say.

ASIDE: It's been brought to public attention several times during, and since Katrina,  that pre-Nanny State hurricanes (like the one in 1915, that similarly devastated New Orleans)  were handled by Louisianan's without a farthing's worth of assistance  from the Federal government.

Bishop Sheen on MFCCS

“
 "The Kiss That Blistered"

The Dennis Praeger video below's message is that we have failed to pass on to our children the Big Idea.  The values that formed this nation, and unarguably made us the greatest nation in this cycle of human history.  I don't proselytize here, but some things are so much a part of who I am that they cannot be ignored in the context of today's turmoil.

As a kid (I apologize to those who've heard this) in Catholic school (Chicago),  we were literally compelled to watch  Bishop Sheen's "Life is Worth Living"
on Monday evening.  It cannot have been for religious indoctrination since we were immersed in it anyway.  It was more than that. The nuns would quiz us the next morning to weed out miscreants who had succumbed to Milton Berle (who joked "He uses old material too.").

Anyway, the reason Sheen's show was an Emmy winner was due in no small part to his delivery and stage presence.  He began every show with a humorous anecdote that segued into his message.  That message was seldom religious, but would lay a foundation for one that often was.  At any rate, he reflected the values of a nation,  and was part of our character formation.

Start this video at the 1:07 mark and watch until his point about Communism is made (ahem), and he moves into Judas's betrayal of Jesus parallel (to avoid the religious part).

I think that most people here will agree that these ideas were part and parcel of  their own experience and belief, and why the hair raises on our necks when Government Speaks.

YEE HAW!

“
Hoes in the Outfield

Hoes in the Outfield
1. Don't know nothin' about A.G. candidate Wyman,  but he sounds like he knows he has no chance in hell of winning,  so can act like a nincompoop without fear of losing anything but whatever gravitas he may have once possessed.

2. Not gonna happen. Even if it's discovered that Yee is a PRC mole (which he of course is).

3. Phil Wyman would garner more attention if he demanded a Federal law death sentence for any elected politician who forged, or lied about his qualification to hold his office.  That won't pass either, but it would be fun to watch the media try to avoid making it sound like a Teaparty attempt on Obama's life.

Red flowers for Stalin’s birthday

Stockholm Syndrome?
I imagine this in Detroit 100 year from now (Roll)

Communists across Russia are celebrating 133 years since the birth of one of the most influential dictators of the past century, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. [full]

Like you I find it mind boggling that people will  publicly celebrate the most evil of people.  I guess when you grow up in a culture of daily terror it's like the crappy fish soup you momma made you eat; it's today's comfort food.  Or, maybe the Stockholm Syndrome at work?  Anyway, it's hard for some to accept that 80 years of their life was akin to roasting in Hell.  We'll have some of the same in 100 years.

There be monsters ...

Today's Guest Column
"GOT BALLS?"

“

I noticed this tidbit in a Human Events article:

"However, it turned out that anyone can create a petition on the White House web site. Conservative humorist Iowahawk was delighted to learn this, and promptly created a one-word petition directed at President Obama: “Resign.” The White House web administrators can and do remove user-created petitions on occasion, but as of this writing, both the anti-Limbaugh and Iowahawk petitions remain active. It appears that the Limbaugh petition did not originate with the President, but his people also have not taken any action to remove it."

but I couldn't find anything about it on Iowahawk's blog.

...I found it. Unfortunately, you have to create an account with the White House's web site to sign a petition there. Got balls?

Commies are never spontaneous

The Weathermen Ride Again
2010 OWS practice sessions

“
The Coast Guard in Boston confirmed that a woman in uniform was harassed and spat upon near Occupy Boston protesters.

The woman was walking to the train and said protesters spit on her twice, called her foul names and even threw a water bottle at her. [Coast Guard member spit on near Occupy Boston tents]

BUT WAIT!

Sigh

Whilst looking for a suitable picture of maggot-infested-hippies for illustration, I stumbled across this Occupy Boston poster.

LATAZ! – RTS in Allston last night

•May 2, 2010

Tonight, may day, is international workers day – a day celebrating a radical past, a day celebrating a radical future. It is also a day acting in solidarity with comrades and against the many racist, fascist, fucked up things happening everyday by those in power. It is a day against authority – a day for us.

There are endless reasons for being against authority. For example, in Arizona the fascist law SB1070 was past not more than a week ago. Because of this police can stop people based on how they look and ask for you “to show your papers.” That’s some fucked up Nazi shit. In lower Allston, over the past couple of weeks, there has been an increase in police patrols, targeting people of color. In the meantime Harvard and business are moving into the area, beginning the process if making it more expensive to live, forcing people elsewhere.

A couple of days ago, a support and solidarity caravan to the autonomous municipality of San Juan Copala, Oaxaca was attacked by state paramilitaries. This night is for you all as well. Stay strong – fight back.

Tonight will not change anything. Tonight is meant to celebrate what we have. Tonight is meant to show the possibility of another world.

“if I can’t dance – I don’t want to be part of your revolution.” -Emma Goldman

“let’s have some fun / this beat is sick / I wanna take a ride on your disco stick” -Mayor

No racist laws!
No racist police!

So much for a spontaneous  OWS movement.  So much for the governing ideology behind OWS.

Tea Party envy

"I suffer from Tea Party envy"

TBAD- Van Jones

“ .Let's give credit where it's due: The Washington Post's Richard Cohen seems to have coined the excellent phrase that is our headline today. "I suffer from Tea Party envy," he confessed at the outset of an early-August column. Although he contemns everything the Tea Party stands for, he continues, "I am jealous of its sense of purpose, its determination and its bracing conviction that it is absolutely right."

TBAD- Van Jones
Now, the left thinks it has found its Tea Party in the combined efforts of the Occupy Wall Street drum circle and something called the American Dream Movement, described in an Associated Press dispatch:

Liberal groups are trying to build a grassroots movement that will help revive the economy and protect Medicare and Social Security, but whether they will be successful--and use it to help re-elect President Barack Obama--is unclear.

Organizers of this week's "Take Back the American Dream" conference in Washington have studied the origins of the tea party as they try to build a countermovement to support liberal causes. The effort is a response to Republicans' takeover of the House in 2010 and disenchantment over Obama's attempts at compromise. [James Taranto Full]
”
As we showed below, another communist front organization, the PSL, is also active in this bowel movement. It's accurate to suggest that the Democrat party is no longer infiltrated with communists; it's run by them.  If you think the democratic process works with these people, you're delusional.  IMO.

nihilism rising

nihilism rising

-

“ The Obama administration and congressional Democrats are betting their political futures on the hope that the American electorate is ignorant and forgetful, and hence the memo has gone out to functionaries hither and yon, from David Axelrod to John Kerry: This is to be called the “tea-party downgrade.” That this is said with straight faces bespeaks either an unshakable contempt for the mind of the American voter or an as-yet unplumbed capacity for Democratic self-delusion. (Obama Makes History (of Our AAA Credit)
”

I find myself compelled to read, store, and promote arguments like these in the NRO piece.  It goes back to my earliest days of using the internet thing to discuss politics,  in real time, on the NYT bulletin board.  I found that, in many cases, presenting actual data in response to some leftist canker-blossom's postulation could win an argument.  Sometimes I'd be  met with a seemingly irrefutable counter-claim.   That caused me to spend time, hours sometimes (no Google, no search engines), to get at the truth of the matter.  It was a game you could win, if you were good enough.  So just now I'm wondering why I'm still doing this?  Facts don't matter anymore.  They just don't.  The opponent today is ideology.  This ideology, as advanced 100 years ago by Dear Leader#1..

  • A lie told often enough becomes the truth.
  • If Socialism can only be realized when the intellectual development of all the people permits it, then we shall not see Socialism for at least five hundred years.
  • It is true that liberty is precious; so precious that it must be carefully rationed.
  • Our program necessarily includes the propaganda of atheism.
  • The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency.
  • The goal of socialism is communism.
  • The government is tottering. We must deal it the death blow an any cost. To delay action is the same as death.
  • The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses.
  • The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.
  • There are no morals in politics; there is only expedience. A scoundrel may be of use to us just because he is a scoundrel.
In other times, this NRO sequence would have value.  Now I don't think it does, other than validating what some people already know to be true.  Sigh.  Back to my fallback position.  The  BUTTON

(On the plus side, truth will alway prevail.  That I, almost certainly, will not be around to enjoy the day doesn't alter the fact. Cheers. )

The Car from Atlas Shrugged Motors

Chevy Volt: The Car from Atlas Shrugged Motors
“ The Rest of the Story....

Chevy Volt: The Car from Atlas Shrugged Motors

Patrick Michaels is a senior fellow in Environmental Studies at the Cato
Institute and the editor of the forthcoming Climate Coup: Global Warming's
Invasion of our Government and our Lives, as well as the author of several
other books on global warming.
”

His Forbes column* on the Chevy VOLT is a case study in the nexus between big government corruption and big business rent-seeking.

*It's easier to read on CATO
I found this synopsis on Yahoo Auto Groups: (Excerpt)

“ Michaels notes that "sales are anemic: 326 in December, 321 in January, and 281 in February." There seems to be a trend here . . .

Michaels adds that GM has announced a production run of 100,000 in the first two years and asks what appears to be a rhetorical question: "Who is going to buy all these cars?"

But wait! Keep hope alive! There is a positive answer to the question.

Jeffrey Immelt's GE will buy a boatload of those uneconomic GM cars. Here the case study opens onto the inevitable political angle: Recently, President Obama selected General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to chair his Economic Advisory Board.

GE is also awash in windmills waiting to be subsidized so they can provide unreliable, expensive power.

Consequently, and soon after his appointment, Immelt announced that GE will buy 50,000 VOLTs in the next two years, or half the total produced.

Patrick Michaels knows his ratbastardcommies, having also authored "Climate Coup: Global Warmings Invasion of Our Government and Our Lives"

Here's yur passport

New passport rules will keep you grounded (forever)

Lowering an iron curtain 100 yards at a time

“ Don't believe me? Check out the proposed new passport requirements: "Form DS-5513 asks for all addresses since birth; lifetime employment history including employer's  and supervisors names, addresses, and telephone numbers; personal details of all siblings; mother's address one year prior to your birth; any 'religious ceremony' around the time of birth; and a variety of other information." [State Dept. wants to make it harder to get a passport]
”
People way sager than I have deduced that if God did not exist, he'd have to be invented.  I find myself more and more  thinking the same about Osama bin-Laden.  It's not al Qaeda that's winning; it's one-world government. If you, like me, wondered how it was that hundreds of Nazi victims would march right up to the precipice, and wait to  be shot - with no effort to resist ... .  I think we're living the dream.

Trump says Michael Moore a communist

Documentation, observers say Trump ‘communist’ accusation against Michael Moore not too far off
Duh

“   Evidence shows Moore has a long history of pro-communist sympathies dating back to at least 1986 when he was fired from Mother Jones magazine for refusing to publish an article by Paul Berman that was critical of the communist Sandinistas’ human rights record. ”

Trump calls Moore a communist

“ Moore even expressed admiration for Castro in his 1997 book “Downsize This.”

The filmmaker also spoke at the 1998 Socialist Scholars Conference at the City University of New York, which was sponsored by the university’s chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. The theme of the conference that year was “One Hundred and Fifty Years After The Communist Manifesto.”

An October 2002 capture of Moore’s website from Archive.org shows him recommending links to the Democratic Socialists of America and Solidarity: A Socialist Feminist Organization.

Trump calls Moore a communist
“Michael Moore is a communist Leninist, Stalinist,” political commentator and former leftist David Horowitz told The Daily Caller, noting the Mother Jones Sandinista episode.

But Horowitz’s colleague and fellow former communist-turned-conservative activist Ron Radosh disagrees with Horowitz’s description of Moore as a “communist”, saying the filmmaker is more of a garden variety ‘60s neo-Marxist radical than a Marxist-Leninist in the mold of the Communist Party USA.

“He is anti-American, pro any activism, and a demagogue,” Radosh told TheDC. “CPrs [communist party members] were shrewder and more ideological, adhering to a line. Moore knows nothing about Marxism and couldn’t care less about it.

“I would call him a far-left extremist and radical, who follows the most extreme trajectory of the 60’s New Left.”

TSA & Your DNA

After touching your junk, TSA now
wants to scan and harvest your DNA

“
Neo Mengele
As if it's not enough for the TSA to feel you up at the airport, now they're experimenting with rapid results DNA scanners that can scan and analyze your DNA using just a drop of saliva. Spit at the TSA agent who is molesting you, in other words, and they can use that saliva to scan your DNA and then store it in a government database.

Why would they want to do that? We can only imagine. Remember, it was Alex Jones who broke the story about hospitals secretly taking blood samples of babies and handing them over to the federal government for use in a national genetic database.

28ga Revolver

28ga Taurus Revolver
however ...

28ga Revolver

“   Big gun, Short lived. Taurus 28 Gauge Revolver.

On Friday night Michael Bane told me that BATFE visited the Taurus booth at SHOT Show and declared that the 28 gauge revolver was in fact a SBS (Short Barreled Shotgun), not a handgun.

Guns America removed a blog post about the pistol (H/T: TruthAboutGuns) and replaced it with the following text...

Editor Note: Taurus has removed this firearm from their booth and has elected to not make it at this time. The rifle version will be available through Rossi at some point. [The Firearm Blog]

”
A 28 ga is, I believe, the bore equivalent of .55 cal.  Using the BATF's reasoning, then,  the S&W .50 cal would be a SBS if loaded with buckshot.  As a kid I used to shoot clay pigeons with a revolver using .22 cal clay pigeonWinchester .22 skeet. ammo.  Is this too now illegal?  Actually, this .28ga shotgun pistol should be relatively easy to build since it's smooth bore.  Would be handy in the coming days.  BTW, you can shoot a 12ga shotgun shell from a .12 ga flare gun.  Once. In a pinch.

Julius Seizure

Is that the best play on words administered whip fashion you've ever seen, or what?  And yes, we hanged that sumbitch Julius Genachowski ( 3,758 times according to the trap-door counter) but he obviously needs some more.  And please allow me to repeat myself; If this was 1950 and you were assigned to describe scenarios that suggest an American government gone bad, and deserving of being overthrown, this was one of the answers. Without absolute freedom of the Internet PRESS, we are slaves.
