Raptor Killer

Russian Raptor Killer is a "Game Changer"

The Russians have a long history of over-hyping, or even inventing aircraft capabilities, so we'll see.  In the meanwhile this overview -

In an open-source assessment of Russia's Sukhoi PAK-FA, aka the Raptor Killer, Air Power Australia concludes, "once the PAK-FA is deployed within a theatre of operations, especially if it is supported robustly by counter-VLO capable ISR systems, the United States will no longer have the capability to rapidly impose air superiority, or possibly even achieve air superiority." Moreover, the Obama administration's decision to kill the F-22 air superiority fighter in favor of the multi-role F-35 Joint Strike Fighter may prove disastrous, as "the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter struggles to survive against the conventional Su-35BM Flanker… Against [a basic-model] PAK-FA, the F-35 falls within the survivability black hole, into which US legacy fighters such as the F-16C/E, F-15C/E and F/A-18A-F have already fallen.”

When the Obama administration killed the F-22, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates made the administration's case in a speech before the Economic Club of Chicago. Gates explained that F-22 was unnecessary because nobody else was anywhere close to fielding an aircraft comprable to F-35, let alone F-22:

Kennedy Mini-Series

Kennedy Déjà vu All Over Again?

Boned Jello
Secret Service Agent stops Jackie Kennedy, who was attempting to bail after the first shot.
For 50 years the Kennedy family has attempted to control what was written about them, often successfully [William Manchester]. Now that the Kennedy mafia is pretty much eviscerated, will there be an actual, true, Kennedy mini-series?  Yes,  Yes there will, it seems. If you thought  Clintonsnot reaction to ABC's 'The Path to 9/11' was something, this should be ... well,  it would be hard to beat the Clinton's hysteria, but this is already shaping up as a media circus.
Even Before Filming, Kennedy Series Stirs Anger

A new mini-series about John F. Kennedy’s presidency that is being prepared by the History channel does not yet have a cast or a premiere date. Not a frame of footage has been shot. It does, however, have prominent critics who want it brought to a halt.

The critics, including Theodore C. Sorensen, a former Kennedy adviser, say they have read the scripts for the project and that those contain errors of fact and emphasis.

The mini-series, called “The Kennedys,” is the brainchild of Joel Surnow, a creator of the Fox action show “24” and an outspoken political conservative. That raised alarms among Kennedy partisans when the History channel said in December that it would pick up the project.

On the other side is Mr. Greenwald, the founder of the advocacy media company Brave New Films, who has created documentaries like “Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch’s War on Journalism,
Comparing Surnow, a conservative who makes film with broad commercial appeal, with Robert Greenwald, who produces agitprop full-time, is disservice to Surnow. Of course it is now a chiché  to say that unvarnished  truth is poison to Greenwald's fellows, so they'll go to the mattresses on this on.  Click-Click.

The Census and U

And the answer is -

Unless a census taker can show me a constitutional requirement, the only information I plan to give are the number and names of the people in my household. The census taker might say, "It's the law." Thomas Jefferson said, "Whensoever the General Government (Washington) assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force." [Walter E Williams]

Climate scientists admit fresh error over data on rising sea levels
No, not that fresh "error," a new one. Climate experts have been forced to admit another embarrassing error in their most recent report on the threat of climate change.

In the meanwhile ... John Kerry recently told climate bill supporters:
"I want you to go out there and start knocking on doors and telling people this has to happen," Kerry said during a conference hosted by labor, farming, military veteran and environmental groups. "You know if the Tea Party folks can go out there and get angry because they think their taxes are too high, for God's sake, a lot of citizens ought to get angry about the fact that they're being killed and our planet is being injured ... .
