“The Old Sea Crab"

Celebrating Our Western Culture

“The Old Sea Crab,’ perhaps the oldest oldest surviving bawdy song in English (1643), based on a traveler’s tale in Russia, ca. 1280:

Well, his wife got up and she straddled the pot ...

Now, old John Henry had a story to tell,
Singing, diddy-ah, diddy-ah ding,
Now, old John Henry had a story to tell,
And yes, by gosh, it was dirty as hell,
Singing, diddy-ah, diddy-ah ding,
Singing, diddy-ah, diddy-ah ding.

John Henry caught a sea-crab by the back bone,
And he tugged and he pulled till he finally got it home.
When he got home his wife was asleep,
So he put it in the pisspot, safe to keep.

Well, his wife got up and she straddled the pot,
And the damned old sea-crab got her by the twat.
Then she said, John Henry, there’s a devil in the pot,
And he’s got two horns and they’re red-hot!

John Henry got up in his night-clothes,
And the damned old sea-crab got him by the nose.
Then said John Henry, Won’t you let a little fart,
To blow my nose and your ass apart.

Well, she heaved and she ho’d, and she come a little bit,
And she filled John Henry’s face full of shit.
Now, of this story I know no more—
There’s an apple up my ass and you can have the core.

Well, the moral of the song is easy to define:
None of us has got an eye on our behind.
So better be sure before you squat,
There’s nothing swimming in the chamberpot.

Skoonj on Barry Farber

Three Weeks After Solyndra Scandal Began MSNBC Prime Time Programs Still Haven't Reported It

BUT WAIT!

No, you don't necessarily have to have starred in a movie, written a book or run for office and won. Sara and Barry are just as thrilled with someone who offers an idea; a theory; on a scandal like Solyndra as interesting -- in fact, as staggering -- as the theory brought to the table by DAMIAN HOUSMAN (Skoonj)

.

I edited it, the full interview can be listend to at Farber's site.  Three Cheers and Ten Beers for Skoonj!

But wait -
"Yes, Congressman, we'll be glad to answer your questions."

Dept. of Labor To Supply Replacement Worker’s Names AND Addresses

Intimidation:
Obama’s Dept. of Labor To Supply Replacement Worker’s Names AND Addresses to Union Thugs

“Since 1975,” a study of union violence says, there has been “more than 9,000 reports of union violence.” With that in mind, wouldn’t it scare you if you were told that your name and address would be made public knowledge if you were hired as a temporary or replacement worker during a union strike? If you had any sense you sure would.

Well, now that is exactly what the Obama administration wants to do. Obama’s Department of Labor wants to make a new rule that businesses must disclose the names and addresses of individuals that are hired during strikes to replace unionized workers, whether permanently or temporarily. [Continue]

Fascists

Stuff You Knew but want to pass on ...
Today's Democrats are Fascists

A rose is a rose
Barack Obama and his minions in the administration as well as many My Coffee GirlDemocrats in the Congress are often described as Socialists, or in the extreme as Marxists.  However, their actions and strategy are straight out of the fascist economic playbook.  They have become the modern reincarnation of the fascist mindset, without the militarism of Italy and Germany, that dominated Europe in the 1920s and '30s.

Over the past seventy years, the left and their allies in the media have succeeded in labeling fascism as a right-wing or conservative philosophy when it in reality was an offshoot of socialism.

As an economic system, fascism is socialism with a capitalistic veneer.  In its day (the 1920's and 1930's), fascism was seen as the happy medium between boom-and-bust-prone capitalism, with its alleged class conflict, wasteful competition, and profit-oriented egoism, and Marxism, with its violent socially divisive prosecution of the bourgeoisie.

Where socialism abolished all market relations outright, fascism left the appearance of market relations while planning all economic activities.  Where socialism abolished money and prices; fascism controlled the monetary system and set all prices and wages politically.  [Emphasis added.]

Under fascism, the state, through official agencies, controlled all aspects of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and agriculture.  Licensing was ubiquitous; no economic activity could be undertaken without government permission.  Levels of consumption were dictated by the state, and "excess" incomes had to be surrendered as taxes or "loans".

To maintain high employment and minimize popular discontent, fascist governments also undertook massive public-works programs financed by steep taxes, borrowing and fiat money creation.  [Emphasis added.]

Kid Think

Imagine That!

What Kids See

Vicky was at a business conference. During a break, she decided to call home collect. Her six-year-old son picked up the phone and heard a stranger’s voice say, “We have Vicky on the line. Will you accept the charges?” Frantic, the six-year-old dropped the receiver and came charging outside screaming, “Dad! They have Mom! And they want money!”

Teaparty Uprising

GOP leadership faces possible tea party revolt in 2012

Possible?

Buh-Bye RINO Buh-Bye

In less than three years, the Tea Party has gone from being ignored to being an amusing joke to being a convenient scapegoat for all of America's ills. What's next?

TheDC's John Rossomando reports: "Tea party activist David Lewis's announcement Friday that he plans to mount a primary challenge to House Speaker John Boehner could indicate a larger problem for the GOP leadership, and point to restlessness among an important segment of the tea party faithful. Republican leaders face a growing perception among some tea party factions that they are not interested in holding the Obama administration's feet to the fire on spending. Some say the Republicans talked a good game going into the 2010 midterms but have failed to deliver since winning control of the House of Representatives.  (Jim Treacher)

If Sarah doesn't run for president for some reason, I'd like to see her chair the GOP and rebrand it as a 100% purist Teaparty Party. What's the primary difference between the Teaparty and the GOP?  Primarily it's conviction.  Have some.

Woot Back-up

Woot! Stuff

Woot

Check google shopping - everyone and their mother has this exact item, brand new, for considerably less. Woot has gone downhill since Amazon took over - this is but another example. (YES)

On the fence ... apparently it doesn't do system backups - only data files ... hmmm ... but amazon, cnet, and pcworld all gave raves. And the price is definitely good. Hmmm ...

These are great for people who aren't very good with computers but need a backup solution for their files. I got one for my dad and all he has to do is plug it into his laptop and it backs everything up automatically. It searches out and finds data files and you can also add folders manually that you want it to keep backed up.

This is probably not a good solution for someone who can setup their own backup on a standard external drive, knows what a NAS is, or is just looking for external storage.

Can't comment on the price however.
