Precious Snowflake

SNOWFLAKES

Before being cancelled Tim Allen destroys CBS' Liberal snowflakes.

These two video clips are from Tim Allen's TV series "Last Man Standing." Season 6, episode 9 titled "Precious Snowflake."

What is great about this episode is it tackles the issue of America becoming too politically correct. Where people are feeling censored by using Freedom of Speech, in fear that they might hurt someone's feelings or make someone feel excluded. Stuff like micro-aggressions.

Siding with Tim Allen, it would seem that these Social Justice Warriors are bent on censoring words and thoughts. The thought police being mentioned in the second clip.

What are your thoughts? Do you feel like America is becoming too politically correct? That college students need comfort / safe spaces in fear that their feelings might get hurt.

BACK STORY

A sixth-season episode found Baxter blasting politically correct “microaggressions” and drawing up a speech for his daughter’s graduation: “To quote future Nobel Prize winner Lee Greenwood, ‘I’m proud to be an American.’ Not just because I have the right to speak my mind or carry an awesome gun, but because it’s the land of opportunity. Some whiny babies might not think so, but in America, if you work hard, anyone can be successful.”

Allen himself is also conservative, and has in the past expressed support for President Donald Trump. In March, the actor told Jimmy Kimmel he had attended Trump’s inauguration and that conservatives in Hollywood need to be “real careful” when discussing their political beliefs.

The show’s cancellation appeared to come as a surprise to fans, as its ratings had reportedly been solid, as Daily Wire’s John Nolte noted. Last Man Standing averaged 6.4 million viewers in its final season and a 1.2 rating amongst adults 18-49, strong numbers for a Friday night comedy. But Deadline also notes that Last Man Standing was down just 5 percent this season, a stellar result when compared with other shows were generally down by as much as 20-30 percent. The show was also reportedly performing extraordinarily well in syndication.

Even more surprising, the cancellation comes after ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said at a London media summit in December that broadcast networks were not paying enough attention to the television viewers in the country who helped elect Donald Trump president. [FULL]

To be honest, I'd never heard of "Last Man Standing" before Friday.  When MoSup came running in to may lair, iPad Facebook in hand saying "OMG. You have to watch this!," I knew it was cultural gold. To borrow her words, "We have to watch this show."

"Outdoor Man" reminds me of my favorite place to shop - Bass Pro.

I've been watching it, since the beginning. GREAT comedy, no reason to have cancelled.

I'm going to start a petition to bring it back - Yes, I know it will have NO effect, but it's fun to play with the whiny wussies.

Viewer write-ins saved Star Trek from cancellation ..

This isn't the first time ABC has cancelled a show after the star made controversial CONSERVATIVE comments. Jackie Mason's show, Chicken Soup, with Lynn Redgrave, was cancelled in November 1989 soon after Mason's criticism of candidate David Dinkins. ABC claimed Mason's show was losing viewers from the show before it, fact is it was the best rated new comedy that season. So, if you work for an ABC TV show, and are a conservative, you need to keep your mouth shut.

Reinstate the draft, all fifty sexes, so the little pricks have something real to protest.

From the clip: "You can't say 'Ladies and Gentlemen', because it excludes those who don't identify as either."

I remember when, years ago, I was selling T-shirts at (among other places, such as biker taverns and swap meets) the Portland Saturday Market, under the Burnside Bridge. I had an "X-rated" T-shirt design that won Doug Baker's (columnist for The Oregonian) "Bad Taste of the Year Award"; it said (in increasingly smaller type) "Tease Me, Seize Me, Squeeze Me, Please Me, Kiss Me, Lick Me, Suck Me, Fuck Me".
The "Fuck Me" line was in type so small that one had to squint to read it. A later edition added another line, "I reserve the right to reject certain offers." I had 'em in the traditional cotton T-shirt and also in a nice polyester doubleknit V-neck cap-sleeve T-shirt dress.

Anyway, the local militant Lesbians really took issue with the shirt and would heckle me as I was pitching it ("Pig!" "Sexist!" "Why don't YOU wear one?") so I took to starting my pitch with "Ladies and Gentlemen, and Persons of Indeterminate Gender…", and then went on to describe the shirts as "Dirty, Depraved, Disgusting, Degenerate, Nasty, Filthy, Perverse, Pornographic" (and a few other terms I can't remember), ending with "and dykes don't like 'em!" I sold a ton of 'em.

i have no use for the drug dealing felon.

"Tim Allen
On October 2, 1978, Tim Allen was arrested in the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport for possession of over 650 grams (1.4 lb) of cocaine. He subsequently pleaded guilty to drug trafficking, and provided the names of other dealers in exchange for a sentence of three to seven years, instead of possible life imprisonment. He was paroled on June 12, 1981 after serving 2 years and 4 months in the Federal Correctional Institution in Sandstone, Minnesota."

somehow he has managed to avoid the public censure that he deserves

NOT FUNNY: too TRUE.
Of course they cancelled it;
once the Left Fascists get enough money,
all they care about - in an onanistic way -
is POWER and CONTROL.
NOTHING else matters.

Probably the best show on the small screen. If abc doesn't wise up, maybe another network will pick it up as has happened in the past.

JLW--- *shakes head* he turned things around quite well after that bad time in his life.

This event is a sign of things to come.

Leftists have destroyed the government by burrowing in. They are the Comeys, the Elena Kagans, the Obamas, apparatchiks who are there to destroy their host.

They have now started the process with large corporations. Actually, it's well underway. Any large corporation with a well entrenched government like bureaucracy is doomed unless the Directors take stringent precautions. Which they won't because half of them are lefty tools as well.

Wall street will soon be making investment decisions based on this. I just dumped my Disney shares because Disney owns ABC which dumped Tim Allen's successful show. Comcast shares are getting dumped today.

iOpener, isn't ESPN also a Disney product? Looks like Disney is really taking it in the shorts these days.

Ya gotta wonder what ol' Davey Crockett (or even Walt himself, for that matter) would think of "Gay Day" at Disneyland (to name only one travesty perpetrated by the Disney company).

The late Jim Reeves had a nice song called "Snowflake". I wonder if it could get official standing if it were sung by one of the castrados ... I mean, Congressional Republicans.

Skoonj said...

I looked it up, and found two spellings. The other one is castrato.
