JEWS

“The Jews are a peculiar people: Things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews.

Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people, and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it. Poland and Czechoslovakia did it. Turkey threw out a million Greeks and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese--and no one says a word about refugees.

But in the case of Israel, the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace.

Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.”

Obamacare Fines to be Seized From Bank Accounts?

Brilliant move by Obama, actually, if,  as I suspect, his promise to" remake America"  includes the destruction of personal wealth>  And since he has created an entitlement economy, he'll need your money .  All of it.

I imagine I'm not the only person reading the tea leaves, and preparing to convert savings accounts into other "negotiable"  instruments.  I mean, wtf?  What are banks paying me in interest right now?  Practically zip.  But, if other people start thinking like me  and taking cash out of circulation, then BANG!  Business will suffocate for lack of capital,  and we know what the Obamas do with business in trouble don't we.  They seize them.  The old road to serfdom.

If I was really really smart, I'd do what cuzzin ricky did and move the hell to South America, living cheap, but well. I would in a heartbeat, but not without MoSup and my grandkids.  And if I'm honest, and didn't have family ties, I wouldn't leave anyway.  I'd be storing a cache of stuff in a some hill country I know and getting ready for Red Dawn II. Just kidding.

You know I'm right.

From My iBIDET

I have a week to finish a project I'm doing for someone and everything is running amok.  The latest being that my camera's 30GB Sandisk suddenly became "Write Protected."  I spent two fricking hours on this only to discover (I know, you knew about it) that there is a Write protection tab on that little bitty, size of my fingernail,  drive!  I had to put on reading glasses and take it to sunlight to see the slide.  So this is where dotage has led me.

 Is he still President?

Is Terry McAuliffe’s Million Car A Year Factory Completely Phony?

Terry McAuliffe's company told Chinese investors it was building a factory to produce up to a million cars a year -- a million cars – that’s more than Chrysler’s total sales of domestic cars and trucks combined. Now people are asking where did some $28.5 million go, but Fast Terry and GreenTech Automotive aren't talking.

King Corrn

“
Fields of Dreams

When Ian Cheney and his best friend Curt Ellis graduated from college they thought they were done with professors and they supposed to feel like they had their whole lives ahead of them, but they just heard some rather disconcerting news. Some day they were going to die, and maybe sooner than they thought. For the first time in American history their generation was at risk of having a shorter lifespan than their parents. And it was because of what they ate. (Full into)

I'm surprised I watched this 90 minute documentary.  Didn't plan on watching more than enough to get pissed off by whiny moralizers.  But the two dudes are highly likable, and their film is, well, more or less a film about other Res Ipsa Loquitorlikable people in Iowa and Colorado.  In other words, a fun indulgence, and kind of nostalgic.  Have you ever run through rows of corn?  You know that semll of green and dirt?  I smelled it.

I'm not going to jump on any bandwagons here about farming, or farm subsidies, or diet—although I did learn some surprising things about them.  No, if I was gonna go on a crusade, I'd be talking about about Monsanto Chemical here.

Anyway, I don't even have a bitch about corn subsidies, which because of Agriculture Sec. Earl Butz went from us paying farmers for not growing anything, to enticing them to grow as much as possible.  Yes, the farmers still make out because of gummint subsidies,  which is why they continue.  But corn is the cornerstone to a giant American manufacturing economy, and I'm for that (even if I don't like some of what it's used for).

Anyway, I done led you to water, er corn field.  Cob is in your court.  You're welcome.

Freaky Deaky

STUFF

“

The new me spends his mornings at Starbucks (for the wi-fi) watching all the people on their way to work (everyone in Maryland works for governement in some fshion. so everybody works) and watching movies.  Tosau I finished Freak-Deaky.  It's a wonder that I missed any Elmore Leonard based movie, but I did.  Freakey-Deaky is classic E.M.

When it was over I clicked on "You'll Probably like The Inbetweeners'"

I wastched abour 5 minutets when the Starbucks girl intimated I shoulf order or Fet the gut out. so I walked to my hotel (charges xxtra for wi-fi)  I will keep watching.

I noted this comment in my turtle war post (What I Saw) below'

That's what I see too. Otherwise, what's the point?

He should know the point, but others with lower mileage  may not.  This blog is like a neighborhood beer jopint where people sit around listening to the bartender talk about whatever the hell he  happens to be interested in at the moment, and thne comment on it.  There doesn't have to be a point, and often isn't.  Is my catharsis.

See all thes misspelings?  My fingers don't cotton much to the iPad keyboard. and the solution TFV suggested privately doesnn't work with geration one iPads- which is what I have.  Maybe mine's Gen II.  Or maybe it's me squinty eyes?

Hijacked

The Humanity

Hijacked!

JFC, it's 9:30 and I've spent that past two hours with Pow Web trying to straighten out why my Terpsboy.com account was displaying ads, and seemingly hijacked.  I don't actively use Terpsboy anymore, but it does contain the years when I published this blog independent of Blogger.  Since I pay to keep the domain, and yearly rent, I have every right to control its content. My customer service guy Punjabi said he had disabled the ads, and I told him it was unacceptable practice to begin with and he said "Have a nice day, eat some curry."

So here we are. Instead of a brilliant analysis of Eric Holder's recent activities as they pertain to what he did during the Clinton terror, you get this whiny rant.  Sumbitch!  Now I need a nap.

Seein' the Pope

Trippin' Out

“
Res Ipsa Loquitor

This is truly a milestone week for me. I've been using all my spare time, which is to say all my time, getting MoSup ready for her visit to see the new Pope.  Since telephone rates from Europe are exorbitant, and since—as she pointed out to her sister—we have never gone a single day in our 82 years of marriage without talking to each other, I needed a plan..  I got the bright idea to polish up my 7 year-old Acer Aspire notebook, and harness its powerful Intel Atom CPU NC70 @1.608Hz and 93.38 GB of available memory—and  10" display— to power Skype.  I ain't never used Skype before, but all my kids use it (on their fancy Apples) to interface with each other.  I down loaded and installed it, and now what?  Shit.  I'll deal with that later.

Next thing I had to set up her e-mail, because JFC, can;t be missing those gardening tips and sewing machine projects.  Iit's been years since I set up her Verizon e-mail, and none of the passwords or account names are working.   I'll have to call Verizon and find out WTF her e-mail particulars are.. Shit.I'll deal with that later.

Of course the first thing I  had to do is sanitize the thing.  It's been so long since I used it on road trips that, you know, some stuff might have gotten on there.  What happens if Pope Francis admires her notebook, and asks to see it?  And he pushes some wrong keys and up pops Paris Hilton in sporting mode?  Or  her plane is hijacked,  And the Islamos something like  this?

I did a full scrub, a full defrag and a full everything., then dabbed some holy water on it.  It's still slow as shit, so I'll be interested to see how it handles Skype.

This is where the milestone comes in.  My grandaughter (4ys) got for Christmans what I thought was a toy I-Pad.  Oh no.  The sumbittch has Skype on it. She and the princess are coming tomorrow to show me --SHOW US! how to use it.   I may look like I'm only 75, but I damn sure feel like 76 (after a certain point, nothing more changes.  What's gonna shrink has done shrunk, and what gonna ache, does, always.

But Hey!  Soon as she leaves, it's PAR-TAY TIME. sigh
