When Obama Talks; Iran Listens?

The Obamissariat

It doesn’t matter if “the 3 a.m. phone call” comes in the middle of the day. Not only will the Obama administration not answer it, but they’ll aid our enemies instead.

First came the fact that President Barack Obama refused to address the arrest of 10 of our sailors by the Iranian military after their boats had mechanical trouble at sea. Then came news that the Obama administration had offered the Iranians an apology for the release of the sailors.

Now comes the disturbing revelation, apparently delivered by Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, that the Obama administration tipped off the Iranians that our soldiers were lost at sea and requested their aid.

The news came from Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, during an interview on TheBlaze’s Dana Loesch shortly after Iran’s arrest of the sailors had come to light. [Full j'accuse]

I agree with Ron "Metager hat dance" who wrote:

"If this is true to even the slightest degree, somebody needs to be horsewhipped and tossed into a volcano.

I haven't tried to confirm or corroborate it, so don't get carried away.  "

Hell, I've got , at minimum, 76 reasons why the sumbitch ought be treated harshly.

EPA violated federal law - Again

The EPA - Making Their Own Law Since 1970

[...] Apparently the EPA was so desperate to move public opinion in favor of its controversial regulation that it hid its identity in order to make it look like these communications were not organized from the top down, but were rather an organic grass roots uprising.

The opinion states further, “EPA constructed a message to be shared by others that refers to the EPA in the third person and advocates support of the Agency’s activities.” These messages apparently reached 1.8 million users.

The EPA certainly knew what it was doing, after all, it was the communications director for the Office of Water that engaged in many of these activities. The EPA’s activities encouraged the public to engage in lobbying activities. As noted by the opinion, “When EPA hyperlinked to the NRDC and Surfrider Foundation webpages using an official communication channel belonging to the EPA and visually encouraged its readers to visit these external websites, EPA associated itself with the messages conveyed by these self-described action groups.”

In general, an attempt by a federal agency to convince the public to engage in lobbying is an activity that is prohibited by law. Thus, the conclusion from the GAO stating, “We conclude that EPA violated the anti-lobbying provisions contained in appropriations acts for FY2015 when it obligated and expended funds in connection with establishing the hyperlinks to the webpages of environmental action groups.” [...]

During the 1991  Keating Five Senate Ethics Committee  hearings, a staff member testified for Sen Alan Cranston, who was excused because he was dying of cancer
The New York Times first reported that in 2014 environmentalists Dan Lashof, David Doniger and David Hawkins—all with roots at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)—drafted a “blueprint” that “influenced” the greenhouse gas rules.

That wasn’t the half of it. The emails, obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests, show that this trio and other environmentalists essentially wrote the rule.
(he died 9 years later).  There came a moment when she attempted to take the blame for some Cranston legislation, saying that it was she who had inserted "that language" during reconciliation process.  Bob Bennet, the Ethics Committee prosecutor, bemused, asked if it was her practice to write Cranston's legislative language.  She answered, yes, I do it all the time.  There was an audible gasp.  I'm not sure whether it was because the panel were unaware that staff members actually write law;" or because the secret was now public.

Here's my point. If Congressional staffers can change the language in laws during the reconciliation process (where House and Senate versions are blended), consider how easy it is for members of regulatory agencies, like the EPA, to make their own law.
People can, and do, go to prison for violating the whim of some clerk's fanciful scribble.  My solution?  Do away with all regulatory agencies.  All of them.  Replace them with  legislation that specifically enumerates every single provision.  Then, let the D.O.J. handle violations of WRITTEN LAW.

"But Rodge, that would add millions of rules and provisions to legislation!"

Do you mean like Obamacare? Yes it would, but it would also stop some GS-5 clerk from  making a pet peeve law that can cost you every thing you own.  It's bad enough that congressional clerks do it, but at least what they do is soldered into place. The EPA must die.

Onion Parody

The Obamissariat

WASHINGTON—Recounting in detail the numerous struggles and tribulations of the past seven years, an impassioned President Obama loftily praised his own strength and resilience in the face of adversity Tuesday evening during his final State of the Union address.

“In my two terms in office, this country has faced unprecedented challenges both at home and abroad, but if there is one constant amid this turmoil, if there’s one truth we can all hold onto, it’s that through it all I have remained steadfast and resolute—my perseverance never ceases to amaze me,”

said Obama, his voice swelling with pride and conviction as he noted how, time and again, he has withstood every attack or heartache that has befallen him.

From the BP oil spill, to gun violence, to ISIS—I have met every hardship with the deepest resolve. Consider how truly inspiring that is. It is a testament to my incredible determination. My fellow Americans, these are trying times, but knowing what I know about me, about the type of good person I am, there is no doubt in my mind that I will get through whatever I encounter and emerge stronger on the other side.”

Obama added that it was precisely this indomitable spirit that made America great.

Dissing ‘Diversity’

So here’s a crazy idea: How about if companies announced that from now on people were going to be judged as individuals and that nobody would be given any preference or suffer any discrimination on the basis of skin color, national origin, or sex. It made clear that this applied to men and women, minorities and non-minorities alike. Might that possibly be a good way to advance nondiscrimination against women and minorities, but also reassure men and nonminorities that they wouldn’t be discriminated against either — just the objectives the article touts?

Islamos w/Guns; never a good thing

Der Skoonjer

Citizens w/guns

The four volunteer “good guys” were placed into three different scenarios:
  • A workplace mass killing, where a fired employee came back to shoot up his office after being terminated. The “good guy” is armed with a handgun as the “bad guy” enters the office and indiscriminately opens fire with an AR-15 while wearing body armor.
  • A terrorist attack eerily similar to San Bernardino where a terrorist forces his way into a packed conference room and begins executing hostages with an AR-15 while wearing body armor.
  • A workplace domestic violence situation, where an armed husband threatens his wife in her office with a gun.

Our sister site Bearing Arms has video of a fascinating experiment conducted by a DFW television affiliate as to whether an armed citizen stands a reasonable chance of materially affecting the outcome in an active shooter situation. One of the tiresome canards of the left is that citizens with concealed handguns would be of absolutely no value in an actual active shooter situation versus someone with a rifle.

To put this theory to the test, the television station pitted four ordinary gun owners with various levels of firearm training against a 22-year veteran SWAT cop with highly specialized training. The least experienced shooter had only 6 hours of training, like you would get in a standard CCP class. The most experienced had 50 hours of handgun training from the DFW shooters academy.

Full Experiment Proves that Armed Citizens CAN Take Down an Active Shooter

Was there ever any real doubt about this?

Positively Negative

An MIT linguistics professor was lecturing his class the other day. "In English," he said, "a double negative forms a positive. However, in some languages, such as Russian, a double negative remains a negative. But there isn't a single language, not one, in which a double positive can express a negative."

A voice from a kid in the back of the room, name of Doug, said, "Yeah, right."

The Democrats’ success depends on continuously promoting hostility between groups.

‘The Owl of Minerva spreads its wings only at dusk.” So Hegel reminded us that we fully grasp something only as it approaches its conclusion.

And so it is with President Obama’s project to fundamentally transform the country by, among other things, perpetuating ethnic divisions. This final State of the Union marks the beginning of the end of his administration. It’s a good time to ask: Is the project succeeding?

Every U.S. citizen is a member of some protected class, and is entitled to the benefits of EEO law. However, the EEO laws were passed to correct a history of unfavorable treatment of women and minority group members.  (EEO)
Judging from the bitter state of U.S. race relations today, it seems to have advanced more than many thought it might when they ridiculed candidate Obama’s community-organizing past as something only a 98-pound weakling would do. “I don’t even know what it is,” sneered Rudy Giuliani in 2008.

What it was, simply put, was important ground-level training in how to stoke dissatisfaction and spread activism across the country, one community at a time. Practiced on a national scale — and combined with a liberal academic’s understanding of Critical Theory’s plan to replace the values of the “dominant group” with the “counter-narrative” of “subordinate groups” — the project meant ensuring that different ethnic groups became politically active while remaining unassimilated.

The fact that the president doubled down on his celebration of “diversity” in his speech last night made it clear that he’s not abandoning this narrative in the twilight year of his administration, a race to the end that promises even more damage.

Obama SS faces civil lawsuit

 Obama's Waffen Schutzstaffel

A federal judge on Tuesday certified a class-action lawsuit against the IRS for its political targeting, advancing the cause of more than 200 tea party groups who said they were denied their First Amendment rights by the tax agency’s actions.

No Criminal Charges For Lois Lerner  President Obama's Justice Department wrote a letter to members of Congress announcing that Lois Lerner is safe from criminal charges of any kind.
Judge Susan J. Dlott in the Southern District of Ohio issued an order certifying the class, though she sealed the order for now to protect private taxpayer information.

Edward Greim, one of the lawyers advancing the tea party groups’ case, said the certification is a major step because it means the judge has agreed that the IRS did systematically target more than 200 groups for special scrutiny.

The real scandal is that Lois Lerner and Obama muck-a-mucks are not defending themselves in criminal court. I guess this will be a O.J. Simpson style  civil court proxy solution.
