OORAH! Sound off on Marines singing ‘There’s no God like Jehovah!’

On Sept. 15, a woman named Merrie Pardee Baldwin posted the video on Facebook, where it had been shared nearly 400,000 times at the time of this report. Baldwin wrote, “Participatory worship. I love how excited the men get to sing this song & the camaraderie.”

Inspired by the video, Alan West tweeted, “Oohrah! This video of Marines singing is going to drive the secular humanists INSANE.”

A video of U.S. Marines singing, dancing and worshiping God at Camp Pendleton in California is going viral on Facebook, prompting retired Lt. Col. Allen West to revel in the display he says will “drive the secular humanists INSANE.”

In the video a crowd of Marines sings “Days of Elijah,” a Christian worship song, while raising their hands in the air and shouting, “Oorah!” The troops were attending a Christian worship service at the military base in San Diego County, California.

Some of the lyrics include:

These are the days of Elijah
Declaring the word of the Lord, yeah
And these are the days of Your servant, Moses
Righteousness being restored

These are the days of great trials
Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice in the desert crying
Prepare ye the way of the Lord!

Let me count the ways ...

NEW HAVEN — Former Republican Gov. John G. Rowland, a political rising star who crashed a decade ago in a corruption scandal, fell again Friday when a jury in federal court found him guilty in a low-rent scheme to collect secret paychecks from rich Republican congressional candidates.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Former Republican Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife were convicted Thursday of using his office to promote a dietary supplement in exchange for gifts in a public corruption case that derailed the career of a onetime rising Republican star.

Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry was indicted Friday for allegedly abusing his veto power during a dispute with a public corruption prosecutor over her drunken driving arrest -- in a case that could mar the potential 2016 presidential candidate’s political prospects.

I'm just sayin'

These have all the markings of 2005 when Howard Dean asserted that "Republicans have made their culture of corruption the norm."  Nancy Pelosi grabbed it and used it (absurdly, given the long list of Democrats whose indictments were somehow sent instead to the House ethics committee hearings) to wrest the House from the Republicans, making her Speaker.  The list of slain Republicans included ...

  • Tom DeLay, as raw a political attack as has ever occurred.  DeLay was ultimately cleared of any wrong doing, but was forced out of his House Whip position just the same.
  • Duke Cunningham (who manned-up to taking Jack Abramoff $$, and took his punishment, while Sen. Harry Reid, who was up to his neck in Abramoff  kickback cash went unscathed.
  • Rep Curt Weldon's office was raided on election day eve, to big headlines.  Supposedly to find evidence of his daughters wrong-doing??- He narrowly lost to the Democrat.
  • Mark Foley was charged with "allegations of sending teenage boys explicit sexually solicit e-mails and instant messages."  All charges were later dropped because of lack of evidence.
  • Rep Sue Kelly lost because she was somehow tied to Mark Foley ... Huh?
  • U.S. Congressman Don Sherwood - Lost after an extra martial affair was made public.
It's probably unfair to say that Democrats have an advantage because, for the most part, their constituencies are Lo-Fos who are themselves inured to infidelities and petty crime.  So I won't say it.

Democrats (and that incudes major media) are in full panic, so expect anything from that lot.  Won't matter if it's true, just that it muddies the election water.

Obama Dumped in Chicago

    Liberal Racialists

In a statement this morning, (Chicago mayor) Emanuel said he would look for other possible names.

“Over the last few months, my team has listened to questions and concerns from the community, ranging from location of the building to the naming of the school. We take that community input seriously, which is why – as we continue to look for a thoughtful way to honor President Obama – we will look for other possible names for this future school," Emanuel said in a statement.

The Tribune story dances around the reason for his decision to dis Obama.  The original Drudge link was more succinct:

The walkaway moment, for me anyway, is this ridiculous posturing by Ald. Walter Burnett.

ASIDE: The term "racist" has always seemed awkward in describing the Left's use of it within today's political construct.  A better term I think is "Racialist."

bigot - a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own

Racialist it is then, from here on.  Unless, of course, we're talking about people like Obama and Eric Holder, of whom it may be said, have "a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others."  They are, then, "racists."

Wait. Come to think of it, since Liberals automatically look at a person's race before their second thought, all Liberals have a dual profile of racist and racialist.  Thank you.

Today's Good Idea

This Cuts It!

By Cheryl K. Chumley (Washington Times)

The United Nations slammed Israel for possibly committing war crimes in its fight against Hamas — and then backed that accusation by suggesting the Jewish nation ought to be sharing its Iron Dome defensive technology with the very terror group it’s fighting.

U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said to members of the media at an “emergency” meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Council that Israel was falling short in its duty to protect citizens in the Gaza Strip from getting killed by its rockets.

Making Do

You know how when MoSup goes off on her class reunion, and I immediately, despite my most determined other-wising, revert to bachelorhoodity?  And when she calls and says she's reached Tappahannock on her way home, and I spring into a frenzy of cleaning, washing and picking up?  Well, she hasn't called from Tappahannock yet, but she will soon, and, holy mother of God, I bent over to tie my boots this morning and snap!  I threw my back out in a major way.  Srsly, while I am sitting in my computer chair right now, even moving to engage the Caps Lock key sends a jolt through me.

Most people in this state would be screaming out an open window, "Help, I've fallen and can't get up," but I am a warrior and will not!.  Instead, I will spend this time setting the scene so that when she does get home, I will receive her approbation for suffering through instead of her  going into a sullen silence while she bangs loudly about in the kitchen, clanging dishes (and my good knives) and thrown into the dishwasher; and then storming into the den picking up strewn socks and underpants;  and without asking "can I run the vacuum cleaner?,"  fires up the old Hoover that sounds like a jet engine and, one which pitch causes me excruciating pain, which she knows is an audio form of water boarding for me.  You know how that is?

But no.  When she arrives home, she will find me laying on the floor, with a six day growth of beard, a broom in my hand and dust pan not far away.  A scene not unlike the Marine who covered for his platoon and was later found with a .45  clutched in his hand, empty, with 8 Japanese troops, dead – three of them with bullet-holes in the middle of their forehead.  And I will have peach pie served to me, and a back rub.

I am not making this up.

Even hidebound Euros realize ...

But American Liberals, not so much

... roots of violent Islamism are not “superficial but deep” and can be found “in the extremist minority that now, in every European city, preach hatred of the West and our way of life.”
German Chancellor Angela Merkel declared that in Germany, multiculturalism has “utterly failed.” Both Australia’s ex-prime minister John Howard and Spain’s ex-prime minister Jose Maria Aznar reached the same conclusion about multiculturalism in their countries.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned that multiculturalism is fostering extremist ideology and directly contributing to homegrown Islamic terrorism. UK Independence Party leader Nigel Farage said the United Kingdom’s push for multiculturalism has not united Britons but pushed them apart. It has allowed for Islam to emerge despite Britain’s Judeo-Christian culture. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said the roots of violent Islamism are not “superficial but deep” and can be found “in the extremist minority that now, in every European city, preach hatred of the West and our way of life.”

The bottom line is that much of the Muslim world is at war with Western civilization. There’s no question that the West has the military might to thwart radical Islam’s agenda. The question up for grabs is whether we have the intelligence to recognize the attack and the will to defend ourselves from annihilation. [Human Events]

Clean that pot, Cheap!

STUFF I INVENTED
so you don't have to

At the risk of outraging the baristas out there; I do not clean my coffee pot after every use.  In fact, since Feb 9, 2013; never.  The opening is so small that I can't get my hand in there, so, alas; my Walmart coffee quality suffers more with each pot brewed.  I looked on-line for pot cleaners, and what the hell; $36??

Last night it came to me.  Efferdent denture cleaner.  What you see here is the result after three applications and believe me, that sumbitch was BLACK!.

You're welcome.

Taste of Asia Deivered

Sweet deal

You know how you can pass someone and her (or his if you're ...) pheromones are so powerfully attractive that you are drawn like a magnet?  It's natures way of helping people mate.  Anyway, a few weeks ago I saw this "Taste of Asia" sweet chili sauce while shopping.

To my knowledge I have never had sweet chili sauce before, but there was such a powerful, what?  "flavomone?" transmitted that—I am not making this up—that I wanted to uncap a bottle and drink it on the spot.  Bad form, especially when other shoppers are around, so I bought it.  As soon as I got home I did just that; uncapped and swigged.

I have never done anything like that before, and guess what?  It is freaking wonderful.  I started putting it on everything, so in quick order was running out.  Anyway, this is what I wanted to tell you.

I buy a lot of stuff, especially bulky, heavy stuff like 50 pound bags of flour, and paper towels, etc., from Walmart.  I mean, the prices range from great to competitive
—and there is no tax, and no shipping charge on orders on $50.  I ordered a six pack of this stuff last Friday, along with a crap load of other stuff.

Yesterday Fed Ex pulled up at 9AM and left a box on my doorstep.  It was a partial delivery of the Sweet Chili Sauce. That's all.  Now, this stuff cost me maybe $2.59/bottle, so this was about a $15.50 order.  Delivered by Fed-X. Today Fed-X came again and dropped another partial delivery; one can Gold Bond powder spray, and two Almay hypo-allergenic deodorants.  More to come.

Amazing.

The Scotish Secession Movement in 50 Word$

The stakes are enormous for both the unionists, who want to keep the kingdom together, and the nationalists, who dream of inheriting the oil wealth of the North Sea without sharing any of it with haughty Old Blighty. No one knows, or can even imagine accurately, what would follow secession. [More Words]

My sense is that if Scotland leaves G.B.,  it would have some effect on American attitudes about secession.  Can't say to what degree, but the very act would plant a winds of change sort of inevitability regarding the preferred (by many) secession of traditional American states from what is now a cesspool of lawlessness ruled by Liberal plantation owners; their crapload of illegals; and renegade judges.  However, since I value tradition, where it doesn't impact me,  I do hope that Scotland votes to  stay home on Thursday.
