Saint Ralph

Catharsis

Saint Ralph is the unlikely story of Ralph Walker, a ninth grader who outran everyone's expectations except his own in his bold quest of trying to win the 1954 Boston Marathon.

Note that I've posted this under "catharsis," instead of Cinema ala Carte.  Because it is cathartic.  If you liked Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your eye out"), you will love this too.  It is well worth  paying Amazon the $2.99 (or whatever) if you don't have Prime.

THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED

cinema à la carte

I landed on the Golf Channel, and before I could chip my way out I'd become intrigued by this autobiographical film.  You will too, even if you've never packed clubs 'n irons before.  BTW, this is the whole enchilada.  Enjoy.

Francis Ouimet came from an immigrant family that was part of the working class. He watches an exhibition by legendary British golf pro Harry Vardon (Stephen Dillane) as a 7-year-old boy, and becomes very interested in golf. He begins as a caddy at The Country Club, a posh enclave located across the street from his home in suburban Brookline, Massachusetts, while making friends with the other caddies. He works on his own golf game at every chance, and gradually accumulates his own set of clubs. Francis practices putting at night in his room. He wins the Massachusetts Schoolboy Championship. One thing leads to anoher ...

TRUMAN:‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESSS’

              Catharsis

What is meant by the modern term referred to as ‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESSS’..

The definition is found in 4 telegrams at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri. The following are copies of four telegrams between President Harry Truman and Gen Douglas MacArthur on the day before the actual
signing of the WWII Surrender Agreement in September 1945..  The contents of those four telegrams below are exactly as received at the end of the war - not a word has been added or deleted!

(1) Tokyo, Japan
0800-September 1,1945
To: President Harry S Truman
From: General D A MacArthur

Tomorrow we meet with those yellow-bellied bastards and sign the Surrender Documents, any last minute instructions?

(2) Washington, D C
1300-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur
From: H S Truman

Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press, becausesome of your remarks are fundamentally not politically correct!

(3) Tokyo, Japan
1630-September 1, 1945
To: H S Truman
From: D A MacArthur and C H Nimitz

Wilco Sir, but both Chester and I are somewhat confused, exactly what does the term politically correct mean?

(4) Washington, D C
2120-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur/C H Nimitz
From: H S Truman

Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!

Now, with special thanks to the Truman Museum and Harry himself, you and I finally have a full understanding of what ‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESS’ really means.....

I love it.  However, a search of the TrumanLiberry provides no such dialog.  Too bad, because it's essentially the troot.

Trump DUET

Hilarious!

CNN SUCKS CHANT

After playing the short video clip, Cuomo, Camerota, Carter and Stelter wonder aloud what sinister outcome could arise from this display. Cuomo began by calling it “very high on the list of irresponsible things the guy has done,” blasting Trump for not thinking “about the implications to anybody other than himself.” Cuomo whined, “Have you ever heard of anybody in politics, let alone a presidential nominee, doing anything like this to the fourth estate?” [FULL]
I'm dying here boss.

Foot Ball Lives

              Catharsis

A football Life ...

I'm a Redskin fan first; NFL fan 12th, or so.  Ergo, people like Michael Strayhan, Bill Parcells, or any rat bastard Cowboy are no good.  After watching their life story in the NFL's "A Football Life" series however, I admire the hell out of them all, except Lyle Alzado. I featured the Steve Sabol episode because—well—while I knew who he was, I had no idea how much I'd have liked knowing him.  I liked Doug Flutie before, and like him more now.  Pat Summerall! Watch

You don't have to like football to appreciate this series, but you may have to be male.  That's my sense anyway.  You will feel good after watching them, and that's cathartic.
