“ As the Republican Party searches for a way to win back the White House after Barack Obama leaves the stage, could the nation be turning towards Mitt Romney? Recalling one of Mr Romney's biggest blunders during his doomed 2012 presidential bid – questioning whether or not London was capable of hosting the Olympic Games – this might sound absurd. But there are surprisingly good reasons why a Romney return might not be all that crazy. Blah-Blah-Blah Ride to the rescue?   From what?  It's the Democrat Party on the brink their greatest political defeat since 1980.  A few weeks ago I noted a similar story on Drudge, about maybe reconsidering Romney.  Aha!  There we have it.  Romney to rescue the GOP from GOP conservatives  (aka teapartiers), who threaten their cozy relationship with the  Democrat Party.  I can imagine the Telegraph's man in Washingon drinking Scotch with a GOP lobbiest and—Voila!—this pap.  There will be more, because the GOP are bankrupt when it comes to people with stiff backs. So, here's where I stand. I have in the past threatened not to vote in any presidential election where (1)Bob Dole, then (2)John McCain, and then (3) Mitt Romney headed the GOP ticket.  I might actually have stuck by my guns in McCain's case had Sarah Palin not emerged as his mate.  But no.  In every case, as prophesied in Proverbs 26:11,  I ate my vomit after rationalizing that, bad as they were, Clinton and Obama were downright deadly. This time, I have been to the cave and met the varmint.  There are no half measures that will begin to undo what Obama hath wreaked.  I'm looking for someone who promises (by past performance) to clean house.  At the moment only Sarah Palin and John Bolton come to mind as worthy.  We'll see. And it's not that Romney is all that bad (on paper).  It's that him getting the GOP nod means the GOP have again prevailed, and this GOP are little more than ushers for the DNC devil. Say Amen. ”

Condemns Israel's behavior in the Palestinian conflict as undermining U.S. regional interests. Soft on drugs: Has made combating Afghanistan's massive opium trade a low priority. Soft on crime: Supports reconciling with Taliban leaders and backed Sunni militias in Iraq's Sunni Awakening. Worst of all, he's a big-government liberal: [The Atlantic] What?  Not enough? Have you ever seen him in the same room with David Hackett Souter? Did you know Petraeus's wife Holly works in the Obama administration as the assistant director for service member affairs at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the agency founded as a part of the Dodd-Frank Act. The genesis of the Drudge Report story about being picked by Romney was an Obama backer who said the president suggested Petraeus would be Romney's pick— and wasn't joking. So much for that one.  I hope. ”

In fact, the one full tax return Romney did release shows that he directly owned the company as recently in 2010 and it was not held in his trust. Mitt Romney’s continued dishonesty on his investments in offshore tax havens and corporations raises serious questions about why he won’t release his tax returns. He’s also voted to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. “As a U.S. Senator, Rob will champion policies that recognize and harness the power of Ohio’s natural resources – including natural gas, coal, solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, oil, and bio-mass,” his Senate campaign energy plan states. In 2000, Portman voted for implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, a treaty to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meant to fight global warming by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. The protocol has not been ratified by the U.S. Portman authored the Tropical Forest Conservation Act, a piece of legislation the Bush White House described as a “program [that] enables eligible low and middle income countries to substitute some portion of their debt obligations to the United States for domestic tropical forest conservation and protection activities.” Portman also voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, newly structured by Joe Biden and offering  and increased number of visas to illegal-alien victims and offers specific protections of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender victims. Since Romney's  own shifting positions on the subject fall under that rubric, I suppose it's a moot point.   ”

Allen West (R-FL) said that he was “dejected” after Mitt Romney’s avoided taking a strong stand on President Barack Obama’s directive enacting portions of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act. “It goes back to what my mother taught me, ‘a man must stand for something, or else he’ll fall for anything,’” said  West. Like many of you, I'm very sensitive to any sign of being "gamed" by Mitt, and the GOP.  This is not a good sign. The answer is easy, Mitt.

In that case, you (me) might say its ideas were pretty good—only the execution often left something to be desired.
