The 250 Million Year Old Packard?

Al Gore, Call Your Office
10 Strange, creepy and shocking things found on the ice in Antarctica, global warming opens the veil of secrecy over unique finds that have been buried in the ice for centuries and centuries.

"... this animal was a distant relative of modern mammals living about 250 million years ago. It is particularly interesting that this species survived a mass extinction which could be the result of global warming ...."

I half expected that the next mysterious thing found would be a junk yard filled with rusted automobiles.

Scientists, aren't

A Moron, a Goreon, and a Yawn-Yawn

The Harvard study exposed 24 people [sic] to office environments with varying levels of volatile organic compounds as well as varying levels of carbon dioxide over six work days. The study found that for “seven of the nine cognitive function domains, average cognitive scores decreased at each higher level of CO2.” HERE

Reading the headline, I thought it meant to show how the  "man caused' climate change argument was making proponents dumber.  I was going to argue that, while it was dumb of them not to investigate claims, it was their inability to think critically that made them appear to have sub 100 I.Q.  But no, it was an exhaustive study of more than a dozen people that's being used to give dumb people more reason to think they're not dumb.

The Big SUCK!

            Global Warming Fade-Out

The Terriific Storm That Will Unfreeze the North Pole!
WILL SUCK AIR OUT OF MIAMI
TODAY!!!
OMFG!!!!
Women and Children Suffer Most

"But later this week (today) , something extraordinary will happen: Air temperatures at the Earth’s most northernly region, in the middle of winter, will rise above freezing for only the second time on record.

It will bring strong winds and pressure as low as is typically seen during hurricanes.

That low pressure will suck air out of the planet’s middle latitudes and send it rushing to the Arctic. "

[...]

" .... 2015 is the warmest year ever recorded. !"

[The ATLANIC]

Claim: "will rise above freezing for only the second time on record." You'd think the author would tell us what the first was, but no. Jumping to comments, this beauty "

Somebody should warn Congress that this is happening, so it can do something to fix it.

Here's an  antidote

By the by, I will speculate that 90% of people who believe any of this also want Bernie Sanders for president.

What better way to staunch protests at worsening economic and life conditions than to make it feel like an honourable job/duty of the people to save "Gia". At the same time, they used this "science" as new pagan religion to further push out the Christianity they hate and despise and most of all, fear? Gia worship, the earth "mother", has been pushed in popular culture oozing out of the West for a better part of the past 1.5 decades. This is a religion replete with an army of priests, called Government Grant Scientists.

Various groups have fought back. This is including Russian hackers, who published a huge database of UK government, scientific and university emails depicting the fixing of data to sell Global Warming, er Climate Change (as if it never changed on its own). And while taking hit after hit, the beast, like Al Qaida, will not die. As a matter of fact, the beast is on a steady come back, as it is quite useful during the down times recession. The US alone spends $7 billion each year on warming "studies", which is, in truth, nothing but a huge money laundering operation, as no real science is conducted and vapid alarmist reports the only product generated. Portman?

JUMP?

Res Ipsa Loquitur

“Let’s just eliminate the drama and suspense right now. Romney is going to pick Rob Portman,” declared the Daily Beast’s Mark McKinnon, a political strategist who has worked for Republicans and Democrats.

McKinnon is not alone in his prediction. In recent weeks, Portman has been the name making the rounds as the top choice in the Romney VP rumor mill.

Let's go right to the bottom line.  While Portman has many positives, so to did Bush 41 in 1980, ahem.

bottom line
  • Res Ipsa Loquitur
Portman, who notes that he owns hybrid cars, is an advocate of tapping various energy sources. He’s also voted to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

  • “As a U.S. Senator, Rob will champion policies that recognize and harness the power of Ohio’s natural resources – including natural gas, coal, solar, wind, hydro, nuclear, oil, and bio-mass,” his Senate campaign energy plan states.

  • In 2000, Portman voted for implementation of the Kyoto Protocol, a treaty to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change meant to fight global warming by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. The protocol has not been ratified by the U.S.

  • Portman authored the Tropical Forest Conservation Act, a piece of legislation the Bush White House described as a “program [that] enables eligible low and middle income countries to substitute some portion of their debt obligations to the United States for domestic tropical forest conservation and protection activities.”

  • Portman also voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act, newly structured by Joe Biden and offering  and increased number of visas to illegal-alien victims and offers specific protections of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender victims.
You can read more, nuch more here Mitt to Choose This GOP-Establishment VP?

I'm not going to hold anyone to 100% compliance with my standard (that person does not exist, which is not an entirely bad thing), but there are hot button issues. One is embracing the idea of AGW (man caused climate change).  Anyone that does is dispensing nostrums for political gain, or so abjectly thick headed as to be unfit to serve. Since Romney's  own shifting positions on the subject fall under that rubric, I suppose it's a moot point.

Population Bombshell

GREEN CRAP

Blow me Paul Ehrlich

I've mentioned before a book, which name I've forgotten, that I read some 30 years ago that showed how the world's population could live in the state of Texas, with the same population density of Hong Kong. This was pretty radical stuff at the time, because  The Population Bomb still held some sway in the culture.  Written by Paul Ehrlich, who almost certainly is the biggest science charlatan in world history (Al Gore, a disciple,  couldn't carry his panty liner), the book warned of  mass starvation in the 1970s and 1980s due to overpopulation.  At the same time,  Ehrlich was dominating PBS with a series about man caused Global Cooling, until he switched to man caused Global Warming. Yes, the world would be a better place had Ehrlich fallen down an elevator shaft early in life (while holding Ted Kennedy's hand), but he didn't.  But I digress.

House Republicans to the Rescue!

Republicans to the rescue

WASHINGTON — A panel of the US Congress on Thursday moved to bar foreign assistance related to climate change, defying President Barack Obama's calls to contribute as part of an international accord.

On a party line vote, the Republican-led House Foreign Affairs Committee voted to ban funding in next year's budget for Obama's initiative to support poor nations in adapting to climate change or pursuing clean energy.

Democrats attacked the move. Representative Howard Berman, the top Democrat on the committee, said it would cut off funding for vulnerable populations that are already feeling the effects of climate change.

Gerry Connolly, a Democrat from Virginia, likened the Republican effort to the 1925 Scopes monkey trial in which a Tennessee teacher was taken to court for teaching evolution.

Republicans to the rescue
1. Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted ... Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever.  Vladimir Lenin

2. The government is tottering. We must deal it the death blow an any cost. To delay action is the same as death.-Vladimir Lenin

I don't know which of those two options explain Berman and Connolly.  Rendered useful idiots by liberal educators (including parents)?. Or committed Marxists bent on finishing the job of destroying us?
  • Berman was involved with Henry Waxman during his UCLA days, so it's likely he's cadre.
  • Connoily is from Fairfax Co., the  heart of Virginia socialism.  First elected in 2008, he barely won reelection by .8 of a percent in 2010, which means there's a strong possibility he actually lost.  Prolly  a mush headed Liberal raised by mush headed liberals.  Never had a chance.
Note: Berman belongs to LGBT, Connoly supports their goals.

Nurse - Insect wing. Stat!

Where Have All the Warmist Activists Gone?
Billions of bugs wiped out on Dutch roads

Dutch motorists kill about 133 billion insects a month, splattering bugs on their vehicles and eliminating important members of the food chain, according to a study released this week.
Since nothing spreads faster amongst the perpetually aggrieved classes than new bad ideas,   I'll leave it to you to guess where this is headed.

Biologists at Wageningen University in the Netherlands enlisted the help of 250 drivers for a "splash teller" study. Each motorist had to wipe his or her car license plate clean then tot up the bug body count at the end of their drive.

"They are by far the richest species groups in all countries, and therefore play an essential role in the food chain," biologist Arnold van Vliet, one of a team working on the project, told Reuters.

"Many birds such as swallows, who hunt for insects, depend on insect density. If insect numbers are low they inevitably face severe problems finding food for their young," he said.

Md. Board of Education's environmental literacy graduation requirement.

Maryland My Christmas Tree
You say you home school your kids so their minds aren't rearranged in the public meat grinder?   And now you have to prepare them for the Md. Board of Education's environmental literacy graduation requirement? Is that what's got you down Bunky? [WaPost]

Md. Education's environmental literacy graduation requirement.

It's hard to tell from this story whether home and private schools will be exempted.  Either way, I'm waiting for a lawsuit by some parent who's had it up to here with this nonsense.  The lawyers can use the same facts presented to get Al Gore thrown out of Britain's schools.

Killing Witches

Metaphorically speaking [ahem]...
Why we have to drown them!
ABC’s Diane Sawyer on Monday night presumed everyone lives inside her media bubble obsessed with “global warming” as she set out to blame the Joplin, Missouri tornadoes on it  (MRC)

Dunking Diane Sawyer

Using her own methodology, here are two time tested ways to help us decide whether Diane Sawyer is possessed by Al Gore, and is blaming climate change on man's behavior.
  1. Make her recite the Lord's Prayer.  If she can't, burn her straightaway.
  2. Bind her in chains, and throw her off a cliff into the sea.  If her body sinks, she's an anthropogenic global  warmist. Haul her bloated corpse up and burn it.
Frankly, Sawyer has a rap sheet longer than the list of impeachable Obama offenses, so I say burn her and be done with it.  Now, as somewhat of an aside, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

In my yoot, a lovely girl I was courting cut bait by telling me, "If you didn't smoke, drink, cuss, and want Kennedy to beat Nixon, you'd be the perfect man."  Last week Christie withdrew New Jersey from  a regional cap and trade program.  And,  last November had this to say.

"Mankind, is it responsible for global warming? Well I'll tell you something. I have seen evidence on both sides of it. I'm skeptical—I'm skeptical."

But ... was Christie quibbling to save his base, in the event he does run for president?  Or, is this the the real Christie?

In his announcement, Christie at least acknowledged the existence of man-made global warming, citing "undeniable data" from "over 90 percent of the world's scientists,"

I'm afraid I smell liquor on Christie's breath, and smoke on his clothing. In this matter, then, I'll let Dakota Voice speak for me, and prolly many others

I received some very disappointing news yesterday. It has to do with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, whom I’ve admired for some time.

Since he became governor, he has been a straight-talking, no-nonsense powerhouse for common sense and fiscal responsibility. He loves to tweak the unions, and isn’t afraid to go up against the powerful teacher’s unions.

There has been some talk of Christie for president in 2012, and he has a lot going for him. In many ways, we need his kind of dogged pursuit of fiscal responsibility and what’s right.

But I’ve long known that there are some areas where Christie and I don’t see eye to eye, where he isn’t the solid conservative I’d like him to be. I’ve been hearing for a while that he supported a state-level cap and trade global warming tax, and though I never got around to doing the homework on it, it came out today that this was indeed true.

He has now backed off from this cap and trade global warming tax scheme, but at the same time he has expressed a belief in the asinine proposition of anthropogenic global warming. Backing off this waste of time and money program is a good move, but based on Christie’s comments, he still has faith in a problem that doesn’t exist, and doesn’t seem to have learned the lesson he needs to about gouging the taxpayers to pay homage to unscientific fear mongering. [Dakota Voice continued]
Sigh. Splash.

Australia dumps Carbon Trading Scheme

Boned Jello
Why is this man smiling?

AFTER months of avoiding even mentioning an emissions trading scheme Kevin Rudd has formally dumped Labor's Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme until at least after the next election, and possibly the one after that.

After months of refusing to defend or promote the answer to the greatest moral and economic challenge “of our time” or to propose an alternative the Prime Minister has simply put it off as an inconvenient political truth and tried to blame the Coalition and the Greens for obstruction in the Senate.

The simple fact of the matter is that Rudd over-politicised and over-dramatised the importance of an ETS, put all his political capital into one policy that would split the Coalition and provide a campaign platform and had no answer when it failed.

Rudd's insistence the Senate pass the CPRS legislation before the Copenhagen climate change meeting in December now looks completely hollow and Australia's stance friendless and isolated internationally. [Story]

Of course anybody with half a brain can see that carbon trading is flatlining here in the USA. - WUWT
