Geolocating Tom Jefferson Americans

Hitler's Mustache

Outrage of the Week: New App Targets Gun Owners

Res Ipsa Loquitor

This week's outrage comes to us from a rather unlikely source:  the Google Play app store.  The new app is called the Gun Geo Marker, and encourages users to "geolocate dangerous guns and owners" in their communities.

According to Google Play, "Geolocation means marking dangerous sites on the App's map so that you and others can be aware of the risks in your neighborhood."  Think about that for a minute.  The purpose of the app--other than sensationalism and profit--is to encourage people to anonymously "flag" locations in their community they subjectively deem "dangerous" and to make that information as public as possible.  The probability for abuse and the certainty of inaccurate "reporting" cannot be overstated.  What's to keep people from marking any location for any reason at all?  Nothing.  The practice is not only a serious invasion of privacy, but would also be just as dangerous and irresponsible as publishing the names of concealed-carry permit holders in local papers.

The app could enable thieves to target and steal firearms from law-abiding gun owners, while conversely advertising that other residences are "gun free" and therefore easy targets for criminals.  [Full]

Of course it will also let yeggs pick safe targets to burgle.  The real outrage is of course that Google is again facilitating the Fascist Left's ambition to have a dossier on every American.  It will take the average semi educated, and somewhat observant person, about 2 ms to recognize why they'd want these "controls."

Since Tom Mann sent me this earlier,  I've been trying to find  another  Blog program that I can  implement myself, without having to devote my life to it, and still maintain the look and feel of C&S over the past 10 years.  Makes me shudder, but I am determined to divorce myself entirely from Google Inc, even if it means getting out of the business.

Newt - Something Wrong Wirh Obama (duh)

ISLAMO FASCISTS

“There’s something sick about an administration which is so pro-Islamic that it can’t even tell the truth about the people who are trying to kill us,” Mr. Gingrich said to applause from a crowd in a small airport hangar here. Mr. Gingrich accused the White House of being unwilling to discuss threats from some Muslims. And he slammed President Barack Obama for mounting a “war” on the Catholic Church over contraception but apologize to Afghan President Hamid Karzai over the burning of Qurans.

“I think we can look into the mind of a president in the speed and thoroughness with which they have disowned their own people.”

Mr. Gingrich made headlines Monday when he said it was “not possible” to “fix” Afghanistan and suggested its citizens should be told to, “figure out how to live your own miserable life.”

Yay; It;s Coal!

The Humanity

Ecotwits and Sewer Rats

Yay- It's Coal!!

From time to time I like to see what has Democrats Underground in a lather.  I mostly don't get too excited by the goings on there anymore.  I've accepted (truly) that they are an alien people who fell through some wormhole into our culture, or we theirs.  Anyway, it's like looking at a roadside accident as you move by, gruesome, but you have to look.

One of the things that have them agitated is this.

.WASHINGTON - An award-winning coal-mining activist was questioned for 45 minutes by police on suspicion of child pornography after U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn's energy and mineral resources subcommittee decided a photo she submitted of a child in foul bathwater was inappropriate.

Maria Gunnoe of West Virginia had been invited by Lamborn - a Colorado Springs Republican and the subcommittee's chairman - to testify at his hearing Friday on the Spruce Coal Mine in her state. It was the fourth time Gunnoe had been in front of the committee and the second time she had been there at the behest of Lamborn. blah-blah-blah

I don't know about coal mining hearings, but given Obama's war on coal (or any energy production) in the U.S.), it's no surprise that there are hearings.  The DU story paints a a lurid picture of Lamborn and other Republicans ("shows that their minds are right there in the gutter beside their hearts").  Reading from the Congressional record however paints a different picture of  Maria Gunnoe of West Virginia.

."I am Maria Gunnoe from Boone County WV and I (like 100’s of others) help to represent the stories of the Appalachian Communities where coal mining impacts are killing the people  ...

[...]

The Bush Administration sent word to W.Va state Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Stephanie Timmermyer to get these permits pushed through as quickly as possible, In George Bush’s words “We need this coal, our homeland security depends on it.” The coal industry was allowed to do as they please during the 8 years of the Bush Administration.

Then in 2009, in steps the Obama administration’s EPA trying to fix the problems that the Bush administration created and then ignored. ...

One suspects that Ms. Gunnoe also sports a Hawaiian birth certificate (ahem), being as she is so "one" with that wretched man in the White house.  By the by, that photo could be described as inappropriate if presented out of context in Pedo Weekly (although it must be said that some find any child photographs "suggestive").  By making an issue of it however, Rep.Lamborn  changed the focus from the motives of another  left-wing eco-wacko to that silliness.

ASIDE: Another DU concern, and probably the effect of all our selfish carbon dioxiding, is The end of the Milky Way galaxy as we know it

"Now, for the first time, NASA scientists say they know "with certainty" when our beloved galaxy will cease to exist .. in 4 billion years the Milky Way and Andromeda will collide or pass each other by so closely that the gravitational force each exerts on the other will cause them to slow down to the point of merging. The merger will be completed 6 billion years from now. "

God help us if Democrats ever control congress again.  Or the UN prevail.  All our money will go to stopping this.

The Enemy Within

Quotes
Millions of dollars of negative ads are being run to try and scare seniors and trying to confuse seniors. You know, the irony of this Bill, is with all this Mediscare that the Democrats are running, it’s Obamacare itself that ends Medicare as we know it. Obamacare takes half a trillion dollars from Medicare — not to make it more solvent but to spend on this other government program, Obamacare. And then it creates this 15 panel board of unelected, unaccountable, bureaucrats starting next year to price control and ration Medicare for current seniors.  [Weekly Standard]
That's Paul Ryan responding to the Democrat's decision to block budget cutting and blameRepublicans for trying to kill Medicare. From Hot Air
"Senate Democrats “leaders” have made a political decision—DO NOTHING and attack Paul Ryan’s budget. Harry Reid told the Los Angeles Times last week. “It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage"

Here's another quote on a similar subject.
"Each man must not think only of himself, but also of his buddy fighting beside him. We don't want yellow cowards in this Army. They should be killed off like rats. If not, they will go home after this war and breed more cowards. The brave men will breed more brave men. Kill off the Goddamned cowards and we will have a nation of brave men. George S. Patton

 APPLE, GOOGLE PHONES COLLECT DATA

Schutzstaffe
Google and Apple are gathering location information as part of their race to build massive databases capable of pinpointing people's locations via their cellphones. These databases could help them tap the $2.9 billion market for location-based services—expected to rise to $8.3 billion in 2014, according to research firm Gartner Inc.

Know Them By Their Bangles

Know Them By Their Bangles

Muslim Brotherhood Special

The Daily Caller today features What you should know about Mohamed El Baradei, who is positioned to lead Egypt after Mubarak is beheaded.  If you're in too much of a hurry to read the article, like me, this is all you really need to know, although I'm sure DC piles it on.
  1. Mohammed El Baradei joins Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and Barack Obama as winners of the Nobel Peace Prize for no discernible reason other than being vocal critics of the United States.
  2. Mohammed El Baradei has partnered-up with the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Nobel Peace Prize medal has become the equivalent of certain gang tattoos/biker "colors" that are earned by killing someone; and should therefore (in both cases) be considered actus reus for an "arrest on sight" warrant, and  be targeted by drones armed with Hell Fire missiles (except where prohibited by law).  That goes for every person with any association with the Muslim Brotherhood.  Semper Jihad!

Why, of course *smaks hed* it's our fault

I know what you're saying
"But, Rodge, if I dig up my rocket launcher now, it'll ruin teh wife's Zinnia garden.  Can't it wait 'til after summer?"

Maybe this will help you decide.
Commerce Secretary Gary Locke said something amazing—U.S. consumers should pay for part of Chinese greenhouse-gas emissions. From Hot Air

“It’s important that those who consume the products being made all around the world to the benefit of America — and it’s our own consumption activity that’s causing the emission of greenhouse gases, then quite frankly Americans need to pay for that,” Commerce Secretary Gary Locke told the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

The idea that rich-country consumers should pick up the tab for some of China’s industrial emissions has been gaining currency lately—but not from within the Obama administration. The argument is that many of China’s factories churn out cheap stuff for the West, not for domestic consumption, so those consumers are actually responsible for the emissions. China, of course, loves the idea.

ACORN QUOTAS

Shock:
Not really
ACORN manual shows it lied about 'no quotas' policy

An internal 2004 manual authored by the community organizing group ACORN describes worker quotas for voter registration forms despite the organization's claims that it never employed quotas.

[The manual] advises managers that workers who do not produce a set number of voter registrations per day should be fired. [Doug Ross Files]
