No USA_USA

a major award

“Any action directed at opposing teams or their spectators with the intent to taunt, disrespect, distract or entice an unsporting behavior in response is not acceptable sportsmanship,” the WIAA wrote in an email obtained by the Post-Crescent. “Student groups, school administrators and event managers should take immediate steps to correct this unsporting behavior.”

The wussification of Wisconsin has begun.

Last month the state’s governing body for high school athletics declared that chanting “U-S-A, U-S-A,” is unsportsmanlike behavior.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association also directed schools to stop fans from booing, or chanting “Air Ball,” “Season’s Over,” “Fundamentals,” “Scoreboard,” and “Over-Rated.”

Full Nonsense

Looks like some lingering Donna Shalala toxins have been let loose. As Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1987-1992  she became a leading pioneer in the Speech Code and Sensitivity Movement that swept higher education beginning in 1987. Critics appropriately labeled Shalala the “Speech Code Queen.”  It says much about Shalala that upon discovering that Bill Clinton had lied about "I did not have sex," she was thunderstruck

Note.  It appears that media are acknowledging DuToit's ownership of "pussification," and using the water downed version.  Pussies.

I cry FOUL!

Quite Unsporting, Wot?

A guy shows up late ...

A guy shows up late for work. The boss yells, ‘You should’ve been here at 8.30!’ He replies. ‘Why? What happened at 8.30?’

'Bama/Clemson

Last night's NCAAF champ game the most exciting I can remember.  I crapped pants when Alabama tried an onside kickand pulled it off! Both teams great, but I like Alabama; always have.  The over/under was 50 points; 85 were scored.

Snails

A guy is sitting at home when he hears a knock at the door. He opens the door and sees a snail on the porch. He picks up the snail and throws it as far as he can.

Three years later there’s a knock on the door. He opens it and sees the same snail. The snail says: ‘What the hell was that all about?’

Jersey Boys
Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons

Movie goers, I'm sure, know about this Clint Eastwood movie about the Four Seasons.  When I saw the title being tossed around a few years ago I figured it was more Jersey Girl trash. But, no.

John Lloyd Mills Young plays Frankie Valli in the movie, and is only American actor to date to have received a Lead Actor in a Musical Tony. He's so good that  I had to Google-up to see if he was lip-syncing songs. My dear wife passed through the room during a barrage of FK languaging, so she won't watch itso there is that.

There were two points in the movie when I was awash with goose pimples. Like a little girl.  Sheesh.  Christopher Walken is terrific (per usual) as the neighborhood Don. Superb acting by all.

Yadda Yadda

For the purpose of this exercise let’s look at parts of The Washington Post‘s 2008 endorsement of Obama. I am using the Post as an example of what we saw so frequetly because even though the Post is a liberal paper, its editorial position regarding foreign policy is generally responsible. However in the Post’s enthusiasm for Obama, all caution was disregarded and they promoted a man who did not really exist.

... in describing the paper’s expectations of Obama’s foreign policy, the editors wrote:

But Mr. Obama, as anyone who reads his books can tell, also has a sophisticated understanding of the world and America’s place in it. He, too, is committed to maintaining U.S. leadership and sticking up for democratic values, as his recent defense of tiny Georgia makes clear. We hope he would navigate between the amoral realism of some in his party and the counterproductive cocksureness of the current administration, especially in its first term. On most policies, such as the need to go after al-Qaeda, check Iran’s nuclear ambitions and fight HIV/AIDS abroad, he differs little from Mr. Bush or Mr. McCain. But he promises defter diplomacy and greater commitment to allies. His team overstates the likelihood that either of those can produce dramatically better results, but both are certainly worth trying.

I do not see a single thing here that has been proven correct. (The Post later expressed concern over Obama’s intent to withdraw troops from Iraq. He did that in defiance of their concerns, but they still endorsed him for a second term.) In particular it is hard to see that Obama’s diplomacy has been defter or that his commitment to allies has been better that demonstrated by President Bush.

For a comprehensive look at what the president has done wrong in foreign policy read Abe Greenwald’s On His Watch in the January issue of Commentary. This is a devastating critique of the multiple mistakes the president has made contributing to even wider spread instability over the past seven year. Greenwald correctly identifies how Obama viewed and views himself. (The full deal)

Why was this written now?  Why am I posting it now?  I don't know, but it's like watching the innumerable accounts of Nazi defeat on the Hitler channels; we know how it ends but it's just too sweet to stop. Even as we watch it happening again.

Donald who?

Poof!  He's GONE

I've not been quite the model citizen this reelection cycle.  Which is a good thing.  Because, by my calculus, this nation have (yes, have) collectively jumped the shark, screwed the pooch, glitched the swing.  So, without too much reasoning I've chosen Donald Trump as the best person to take the helm because he's the obverse of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton (Clinton Can't Distinguish Democrat From Socialist). And, he's never spent a day in congress.  Much of America agrees with me for various reasons (I like that he's promised to throw illegals, especially ISIS , down a volcano).  Over the years it has been true that the GOP candidate who best represents their core is stabbed in the cloakroom by GOP muck-mucks, which is why I cite this FiveThirtyEight Endorsement study.  It solves the Trump problem by simply eliminating him from the equation; poof-he's gone.  Beauty.

Ammon Bundy

Ammon Bundy talked with Megyn Kelly Monday about why he is in an armed standoff with the feds.

"The federal government does not have authority to come down into the states and to control its land," Bundy said.

When Kelly asked Bundy why he doesn't go through the courts, Bundy said, "The plaintiff is the federal government, yet the prosecutor is also the federal government...there is no proper redress."

He finished, "I'm not here to die. I'm here to defend my freedom and my liberties. Will I? Yes. But it's not going to come to that."

Watch the interview above and sound off below!

ca 1990A Maryland man was charged by the EPA for filling in a section of lowland on his property that swamped-up after heavy rain, rendering it useless for farming.  He did, however, dig a ditch on another section of his land that compensated; or so he thought.   After endless court appearances the man was fined a horrendous amount of money and sent to prison.  It was one of those stories where everyone said WTF?; emphasized with the man; felt he'd been wronged; but did nothing to help.

I still feel guilty that I didn't do a damn thing to outwardly support him, but, you know
I had four kids, a tight budget, and  a sailing hobby that claimed all my free time.  I'd like to think, however, that had some organized citizen militia joined the farmer in his showdown with the gummint, that I would have showed up.  Today I would, because it's near-by. I'm radicalized, and have nothing really to lose.  So I can sit here urging Ammon Bundy on, but do nothing else because it's too far away.

Awhile back I told my wife that if Texas seceded I'd go there, guns in hand, and fight with them.  She said, "no you wouldn't."

I'm in crisis.

Post-Christmas “flash mob” race riots in five cities.

Last year, black teenagers organized pre-planned riots at numerous large malls the day after Christmas. This year, the riots were repeated, but in new locations.

The rioting is pre-planned and advertised on twitter and black social media websites. Young blacks then show up at the mall in huge numbers and procede to beat the crap out of each other, commit vandalism, and steal of shops.

Nationwide the media is CENSORING who rioted. Political correctness has been deemed far more important than public safety. Even “conservative” FOX News censored the race of the perps.

This year huge post-Christmas rioting took place in: [Ahem]

When Cuzzin Ricky sent me this story right after Christmas I, not wanting to harsh my seasonal love for all humanity, filed it.  But it's stuck in my craw. WWRD?

House appropriations panel to Obama:
Don't even think about funding gun control

The House Appropriations Committee sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday to remind the Obama administration that any gun-related executive action should not interfere with financial resources already allocated by Congress.

"I want to express the committee's expectation that the Department of Justice will allocate its resources to the enforcement of existing federal law," wrote Republican Rep. John Culberson, chairman of the House Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies subcommittee.

The GOP-led committee also warned Lynch that any attempt by the Obama administration to implement "unlawful limitations on the unambiguous Second Amendment rights of Americans" would not be funded.
Of course the GOP have this recent history ...
