Suplize Party

“
Supplize!

Hectic weekend.  Our kids threw a suplize retirement party for their mom, and some of it even surprised me.  They somehow found a very good friend whom we'd lost touch with, and he showed up.  One of our sons flew in from Holland (and had to leave for Russia the next day!)—so no way in the world we figgered he shows up, but he did.  She was totally and 100% surprised and the party lasted two days.  Woot Woo.  Her payback for being the best mom (and wife) in the world.

Bill Murray Stories

“
Bill Murray Stories
"Nobody's going to believe you"

The night of the show arrived and we stopped to grab a bite to eat at a deli before making it over to the concert. As we sat eating pastrami on ryes and chit chatting, a guy came walking into the restaurant, went behind the counter, and made himself a soft drink. An employee confronted the man, which caused us to look up and take notice that it was Bill Fucking Murray.

Upon realizing that he was there, my ex grabbed my phone and started to snap a picture. As quickly as she put the phone up, he approached and grabbed the phone, snapping it closed. He then put the phone down on the table, grabbed a bottle of mustard, opened it, and squeezed what was left onto my ex’s sandwich. We practically burst into tears; we were dying with laughter. He began to walk away, quietly saying, “No one will ever believe you“, as he threw a $20 bill on the table.  [Bill Murray Stories]

Compare him with, say, Chevy Chase.  I don't know what Murray's politics are, which of course translates into he's not the typical Hollywood Liberal assface.   My favorite Murray movie—Groundhog Day.

Gimme an "M" ....

Will Minnesota meet de Tocqueville?
GOP HQ - call your office

“   According to some observers, a terrible catastrophe has just struck the state of Minnesota. Due to an impasse on fiscal and taxation questions, the government of that state has been "shut down." On one side of the divide, you have Governor Mark Dayton, a tranquil (and some would say tranquilized) leftist who has been pushing for higher taxes as a way of solving Minnesota's budgetary deficit.

Room Enhancer
On the other side, there is the Republican-controlled legislature that, to its credit, have taken the rare step of actually displaying a backbone by pushing for spending reductions instead and by standing up to Dayton's efforts to further destroy Minnesota's economy. As of this weekend, the government of Minnesota "officially" is no longer open for business.

Of course, the talk of a government "shutdown" is largely hyperbole. It isn't as if everything government-related in the state has ceased to exist ...
[Tim Dunkin]
”
In this instance it appears that Minnesota's Dem governor is allowing critical services to continue.  In the past congressional democrats have done the opposite; closing parks, the Smithsonian, etc. to show us how very much we need their fat bloated beneficence.  Hell, on at least one occasion they threatened to stop funding the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq in mid-battle. The truth is, that if 75% of government was shut down permanently, along with 96% of regulatory agencies, we'd be seeing boom times in short order instead of the BOOM times we all expect any time now. (I have to do this,  or eat ice bream and shoot squirrels.)

Morgan Freeman

La-la-la with Morgan Freeman

I've had various (la-la-la-la) go-to outlets over the years, for when I'm feeling "bad stuff" overload (ahem).  RFD-TV was one.  Some will remember me posting cattle auction videos.  More recently I turned to EWTN (Catholic TV), but their world news is really very good, which means very troubling.  I feel guilty using eff-words in church, so to speak.  Lately I turn to my cache of Through the Wormhole episodes, narrated by Morgan Freeman. I can't think of a better speaking voice than his.  Add to that his acting career.  No, not just that every movie he makes is eminently watchable; it's that he's the rare Hollywooder who seems to be grounded; nowhere close to your typical movieland left-bot.  He's someone very easy to like.

Anyway, I go to sleep listening to Wormhole every night, and every morning I wake with a wonderful understanding of quantum physics - that I unfortunately can't remember.  Maybe Freeman's best moment - maybe the best moment any American has ever had - is this 60 second clip from a Black History Month interview with Mike Wallace.  Morgan Freemen may be the smartest guy in the country.

Tom Tancredo, a principled man.

principled - based on or manifesting objectively defined standards of rightness or morality; "principled pragmatism and unprincipled expediency"; "a principled person"
That definition of principled was, I thought, necessary before I spoke of Tom Tancredo as a principled man.

Boned Jello
Tom Tancredo- Principled Man

Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, indeed all professional Democrats are highly principled people.  Based on their life code anyway; - in politics, whatever it takes to achieve statist government ascendancy, to include lies, voter fraud, mayhem, criminal violation of the law, thuggery, anything! - is not just condoned, but expected.   Elected Democrats are the "made men" of politics.  For the rest of us, traditional standards apply.

Last week former congressman Tom Tancredo issued an ultimatum to two Republican primary hopefuls for Colorado governor, Scott McInnis and Dan Maes, unless they agreed to his conditions by Monday.
“

Those conditions:  They must commit to withdrawing from the race the day after the Aug. 10 primary if polls show the winner trailing likely Democratic nominee John W. Hickenlooper.

Republicans immediately denounced Mr. Tancredo, calling on him to rescind his threat and predicting his candidacy would spell disaster for the party's chances in November. But the way Mr. Tancredo sees it, he's doing the Colorado Republican Party a favor.

He says the Republicans have no chance of winning the race with Mr. McInnis, who's embroiled in a plagiarism scandal, or Mr. Maes, an unknown who was recently fined for campaign-spending violations.

"We're at the point where Scott is not a viable option," said Mr. Tancredo in an interview Sunday. "So I have a responsibility to the conservatives in this state to do what I can to make sure John Hickenlooper isn't elected."

If Mr. McInnis withdraws his candidacy after the primary, the state Republican Party can form a vacancy committee to select a replacement candidate, which, Mr. Tancredo acknowledges, "won't be me." -Wa TIMES

”
The public Tancredo is nothing if not  principled.  When it comes to protecting the nation against the Mexican invasion, none stood higher than Tom.  The American Conservative Union issued ratings for potential presidential candidates in 2008, and Tancredo took first with a lifetime ranking of 99 out of 100.  True to his word, at high noon yesterday Tancredo declared run against GOP.     Three cheers for Tom!

Ben Shapiro

No, Bill Maher, You're the Dummy

Boned Jello
Prelude

COLMES: Who do you want for the Supreme Court]?

ANN COULTER: Thank you for asking. I want Ben Shapiro.

COLMES: Ben Shapiro.

ANN COULTER: Yes. He just finished his first year at Harvard Law, 21 years old.

COLMES: You mean for a date or for the court?

ANN COULTER: No, for the court. He's my candidate. He's very bright. He's already written one best-selling book.
(CROSSTALK)

COLMES: You want to put a 21-year-old guy on the court?

ANN COULTER: Twenty-one, and he's just finished first year of Harvard Law.

COLMES: So you want someone who's going to be on the court for 50, 60 years? Is that - is that the whole idea?

ANN COULTER: No, I just happen to like Ben Shapiro.

Hannity and Colmes Fox News Channel July 8, 2005
After stumbling across No, Bill Maher, You're the Dummy,  here's how far I got.

He's a dwarfish little man with a dwarfish little mind, as he proved in his interview with Larry King on February 16, in which he slandered the American people as morons:

But what the Democrats never understand is that Americans don't really care what position you take, just stick with one.  Just be strong. They're not bright enough to really understand the issues. But like an animal, they can sort of sense strength or weakness. They can smell it on you.

This is hardly the first time Maher has pulled the "Americans are morons" meme out of his butt.  He said this back in 2006:

You know, this country is, I've said this before, I'm going to keep saying it, it's a pitiful, helpless giant ... Again, because it's a stupid country with stupid people who don't pay attention.

The Larry King idiocy isn't even his worst offense of the last week.  Yesterday, he did an interview with the Huffington Post in which he stated:

...while we were off, Sarah Palin agreed to do commentary at Fox News.  Which is actually very similar to her day job - talking to a baby with Down Syndrome.

Because as we've learned, jokes about mental retardation are always in style. [cont]

”
Bam! The puckish face of the author posted above not notwithstanding, this  Ben Shapiro guy oozed talent.

 Ben Shapiro?

Where had I heard that name?  It came to me.  Ann Coulter once stated that he was her choice for president.  I see now that it was supreme court justice, not president, *slaps forehead*.   Ann would of course be aware of the natural born citizen/ 35 years old requirement. Ahem. By my reckoning, Ben might be heading the GOR ticket in 2020.

There'll be lots written about William Safire, but I'll remember him as the last journalist employed by the New York Times, and the first to ever call a First Lady a liar.  Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio.

Gored Burgers

Today's Burger Hero

Axe yourself this.  If "Global Warming"  isn't a political con game, why all the fuss over a few Burger King restaurants saying just that?  Questioning bad political policy, and risking rebuke by some of their ignorant, or left-wing goon customers,  is nothing if not American.  Home of the Brave, and all that.

The response seems to argue that GW acceptance is today's  phrenology exam, employed by the late monster Mr. H to decide who was worthy of continued life.  Three Cheers for Mirabile Investment Corporation for doing what too few American corporations have shown the nerve to do, maintain principles in the face of an increasingly hostile government apparatus.   And to Burger King Corp., worried about making the politburo angry -   "EAT ME." It's time to make a stand.

Chrissie and a Beast

Someone needs your ((hugs))
Hollywood Doody v. Hollywood Beauty
The past few days we've learned that Hollywood stars have been refusing to entertain the troops in droves.  Reasons given range from, "I'm scared I might get hurt," to "I don't want it to appear that I support Bush."  Some stars who have gone, like Robin Williams, couldn't help attacking the President, which comedy went over like a fart in church with these real Americans, and serves to underscore how Hollywood has been radicalized by a pervasive leftist, anti-American ideology.  Tweren't always so.

Certainly one of the sweetest, and most considerate, people I've met through this blog  is "Wild Thing," who I happened upon  in November.  It turns out that Chrissie (Wild Thing), along with her other attributes [ahem],  is a movie star who entertained troops on Bob Hope's Vietnam Christmas Tour. I only wish we had more like her today.  Thanks Wild Thing.
You'll note the date I posted this about Chrissie (Wild Thing).  December 26, 2005. Here was Chrissie's reply from that post.
Rodger you are so kind. ((hug))

Blogdog. hahaha I have no idea why the person that took that photo did not notice that thing behind Adam West's head. But it sure is funny.

Hollywood today is probably 98 percent socialist and are a large part of the enemy within. It breaks my heart to see how they are. The days of Jimmy Stewart and others is long gone. America has changed so much.
Now read this,  and lend her some encouragement, because a dude named Cooper is using what he thinks is her hidden past to make a name for himself. He already has a name. F**k Scum.

As an aside, I have also written more than once that Chrissie is the sweetest, most considerate person I know.  She remembers birthdays, holidays, and any kindness shown to her by sending ((hugs)).  Some years ago another leftist mfcs sonofabitch  went after Spoons, blogging personal information about him.  I opined then that this is the  despicable act of a coward,  and any retribution - any retribution- was deserved.  Spoons is a lawyer, and took care of things pdq.  Chrissie is not a lawyer. Give her some ((hugs)), because she has done absolutely nothing that was wrong.

The Big 1-0

The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution's principle of Federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.
These are states where legislators are taking action to affirm the Tenth Amendment.  What do it mean?  It means people are getting sick and tired of intrusive gummint.  [More]

I may be over-extrapolating my feelings some, but I think a lot of us are feeling what the hippies felt in the sixties ... that their, still worthless, lives had meaning when they worked to destroy the establishment.  The difference is, they were dope smoking yahoos, under the influence of a leftist education system; we're not.   They were personified
by Naked Moonbeam; we're the guys who pay all the taxes, fight all the wars, and know that Howard Zinn is a leftist-asswipe. We're  these guys.    Don't know how many join me, but it's more than one.

Hey Obama ... watch this

Cactus Cuties

Jodi the 'Bama Darlin' sent this video of five little girls from Cactus JH singing at a Texas Tech game.  Jodi wrote " ... it's "the perfect way to begin a morning."  It is that, but it's also the perfect way to say, "Shove this up your ass Obama."  Can you tell I don't particularly like the sumbitch today? Here's the "Cactus Cuties" singing Amazing Grace. Oh, and Battle Hym of the Republic" Since these are wholesome Americana, they should act on Progressives like holy water sprinkled on Old Nick.
