Michelle Roque;QB

Res Ipsa Loquitur

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Michelle Roque never heard back from Jimbo Fisher, so Florida State's most celebrated football player will be watching No. 9 Florida State play No. 18 Houston in the Chick Fil-A Peach Bowl from home on Thursday.

She's the most popular student on Florida State's campus -- as confirmed by the page views, worship from adoring strangers, autograph requests, nods from NFL players and Twitter marriage proposals.

Count Seminoles players among those agog.
Fisher largely ignores social media, so he probably missed Roque's offer and what much of Florida State was buzzing about earlier this month: her 19-play highlight reel that includes 38 avoided "tackles" -- 13 on one play -- 11 touchdowns, seven completions, one reception, one interception, one diving stop on a male quarterback and an all-purpose yards total that would challenge Christian McCaffrey.

"I even tweeted Jimbo," Roque said. She hoped he would consider her at quarterback.

Roque, the Florida State flag football star and a member of Delta Gamma, melted social media with her complete disregard for the emotional and physical well-being of rival sororities. A video of her sending players tumbling as they grasped at air went viral last fall, but that was merely serving as the accelerant for a sequel that ignited the internet -- a full-length highlight tape replete with flailing bodies, slow-motion jukes and an 808 drum beat. [Keeping Abreast ...]

Jimbo Fisher might have told reporters:  "Hey, I have enough problems with these boys raping women to being with; ain't no way I'm serving one up in the locker room."

Help Me Rhonda ...Help Help

trailer

Yesterday I stumbled on The Beach Boys: Live - The 50th Anniversary, on AXS.  Recorded, and just now watched it.  These guys are older than the Stones (and better IMO) but after about 20 min. I forgot wrinkles; it was like being back to the 60's; the last good decade in American history.  Every song triggered a separate memory of a time, a place, or a person.  Recommended. Damn. I gave my guitar to my son, or I'd be tuning up for my own Live crap concert .  Whoops, I threw my back out and can't get out of the chair.  Sht.

Another year; another Bush

Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush believes President Obama is the reason why so many people have become Donald Trump supporters.

"I would argue that Donald Trump is in fact a creature of Barack Obama," the former Florida governor said in an interview aired Thursday on NPR's Morning Edition.

But for Barack Obama, Donald Trump's effect would not be nearly as strong as it is."

Duh -- imagine that. S'why Trump will very likely the nomination;  he gives a voice to the people.

Bush also said that when it comes voting time in a month — i.e. the Iowa caucuses — Republican voters will not support Trump's idea to stop Muslim immigrants from coming into the United States. [Wash Examiner]

"But for King George, colonist rabble-rousing would have had no effect."

4 simple sentences

Here are the 10,535 pages of Obama Care
condensed to 4 simple sentences..

  • 1. In order to insure the uninsured, we first have to un-insure the insured.
  • 2. Next, we require the newly un-insured to be re-insured.
  • 3. To  re-insure the newly un-insured, they are required to pay extra charges to be re-insured.
  • 4. The extra charges are required so that the original insured, who became un-insured, and then became re-insured, can pay enough extra so that the original un-insured can be insured, so it will be 'free-of-charge' to them.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is called "redistribution of wealth" or, by its more common name, SOCIALISM, or "PROGRESSIVE", the politically correct names for COMMUNISM.

Wow! What a brilliant way to raise money to fund a free service. Aren't we lucky to have such a brilliant man leading us.

So I met this woman ...

  Epiphany

We had a power outage at our house this morning and my PC, laptop, TV, ROKU, DVD, iPad & my new surround sound music system were all shut down.

Then I discovered that my Phone battery was flat, and to top it off, it was raining outside, so I could not play golf.

I went into the kitchen to make coffee and then I remembered that this also needs power, so I sat and talked with my wife for a few hours.

She seems like a pretty nice person

Poo-Pourri Magic

STUFF THAT WORKS

I bought Poo-Poo Pourri as soon as I heard about it several years ago.  We have a powder room off the den, and I noticed guests were loathe to use it because, I guess, they feared leaving with a noxious odor wafting about their persons.  And, over the years it's seems to have worked.  But there's another use for it.  I'm always finding leftovers, especially meats in the fridge, that have maybe a tiny odor.  You know.  I had to throw them away.  But wait.  I've found that a mist of Poo-Poo Pourri left  them smelling like just off-the-cow/pig.   Saves a lot of entertainment $$.

You're welcome

Erick Erickson Buh-Bye

I guess as the new guy in charge, the unenviable task of bidding goodbye to the man who made this site what it is falls to me. In that respect, I feel probably much as John Adams must have felt when he heard George Washington was going to call it quits, or maybe how Aaron Rodgers must have felt when he heard that Brett Favre was actually leaving the Green Bay Packers – full of excitement, if an excitement tinged with fear about screwing a great thing that a good friend has built.

Erick has always been careful to note the work of Josh Trevino, Ben Domenech, and Mike Krempasky in founding RedState, and we all owe a debt of gratitude to our founders. But no one who’s been involved with the site over the years would deny that it’s been Erick’s tireless work that has grown the site to something much more than what it was when it started. [Full]

In 2009  Erick Erickson called retiring U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice David Souter a "goat fucking child molester."  He now admits it wasn't his finest moment, but it put him on my "brilliant mind" radar screen.  His RED STATE blog was one of my favorites; he spoke for me 99% of the time.  Didn't agree with his excluding Trump from his Atlanta event, and I hated his guts for the way he treated Sarah Palin, but them's a few fish in a big ocean.  Eric sold RED STATE supposedly to devote more time to his radio show.  I didn't know he had one. So there's that. Life goes on.

The Terriific Storm That Will Unfreeze the North Pole!
WILL SUCK AIR OUT OF MIAMI
TODAY!!!
OMFG!!!!
Women and Children Suffer Most

"But later this week (today) , something extraordinary will happen: Air temperatures at the Earth’s most northernly region, in the middle of winter, will rise above freezing for only the second time on record.

It will bring strong winds and pressure as low as is typically seen during hurricanes.

That low pressure will suck air out of the planet’s middle latitudes and send it rushing to the Arctic. "

[...]

" .... 2015 is the warmest year ever recorded. !"

[The ATLANIC]

Claim: "will rise above freezing for only the second time on record." You'd think the author would tell us what the first was, but no. Jumping to comments, this beauty "

Somebody should warn Congress that this is happening, so it can do something to fix it.

Here's an  antidote

By the by, I will speculate that 90% of people who believe any of this also want Bernie Sanders for president.
