After watching this "Million Dollar Invention" video,  I am convinced that, had I seen it 30 years ago, I would have invented it.  As it is, I only first learned of 3D printing a few years ago when some dude printed a handgun. Whoa.  But,  even then I didn't fully grasp the process.  Recently Tailgunner Dick mentioned that he'd done 3D printing already, and I was shamed. He could have turned out critical parts for our B-52! Man, I just missed out on another billion dollar invention, and the means to nuke San Francisco.  Sigh.  But I am working on  an idea ... .

Mommy, I smell stink ..

Poll: 22% of the GOP agree McCain is a douche

only 22%  ???  ....

The festering carbuncle that is today's GOP festers on, only more.

[...] In other words, as many Republicans think McCain is a douche as are supporting Jeb Bush + Ben Carson. In fact, more Republicans think McCain is a douche than actually support Trump. Half may disagree but half either agree or don’t care enough to have an opinion.

Before we go any further… I am not a Trump supporter. But I do agree with Erick, that if he is the nominee I will support him and do so more enthusiastically than I did either McCain or Romney.

This result should scare the bejeezus out of a lot of people… some of my colleagues among them. It should really be a wake-up call to GOP donors and apparatchiks who are trying to use mean-girl tactics learned in the middle school bathroom to hurt Trump:

“ Many national Republican officials are increasingly resigned to Mr. Trump’s looming presence. At a meeting of the Republican Governors Association this week in Aspen, Colo., donors and operatives mused about how to prevent him from hijacking the debate.

One idea that came up was to urge three leading candidates — Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor; Mr. Walker; and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 91% of Florida — to band together and state that they would not participate in any debate in which Mr. Trump was present, using his refusal to rule out a third-party bid as a pretext for taking such a hard line. The thinking, according to a Republican involved in the conversations, was that the lesser-funded prospects who have been eclipsed by Mr. Trump would follow suit, and the TV networks airing the debates would be forced to bar Mr. Trump in order to have a full complement of candidates.
FULL

The more of these little games the GOP Establishment plays the more adamant and entrenched Trump’s support will become. It these people want to get rid of him, they need to start ignoring him or start talking about the issues he’s talking about that are drawing crowds. And if they don’t want him to run as a third party candidate they had better lay off these shenanigans and try to win the primary on their own merits. You don’t even need to be a Trump supporter to be in favor of that.

Tomi Lahren Nails Obama

Res Ipsa Loquitur    Say it again—Harder; Harder !

Tomi, the 22-year-old conservative news anchor for the One American News Network, recently opened up about her feelings for Obama following the deadly attacks in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Being brutally honest, Lahren, who hosts On Point with Tomi Lahren on the network, called out President Obama for his “half-baked, tip-toe, be-friendly-to-Jihadis mentality” in the Middle East, in a brazen on-air rant which has since gone viral with more than two million views as of Wednesday, July 22.

Lahren’s very passionate speech comes just days after 24-year-old shooter Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez opened fire on two separate military bases, killing five military personnel — four Marines and one U.S. Navy Sailor, the New York Daily News reports. While Abdulazeez is described as a devout Muslim, there has currently been no connection found between him and ISIS or any other extremist groups.

“Now this won’t take long, but it’s important,” Lahren says in the beginning of the clip. “Four United States Marines are now dead. Climate change didn’t kill them. Lack of free community college didn’t kill them. The income gap, wage inequality? Nope, not those things either. Gay marriage? Nope. Uh, white racism? Not that either.”

“So what did? President Obama, if you won’t say it, I will — radical Islam. This is not workplace violence; this is not a criminal act with motives unknown — this is terrorism. What he linked to ISIS or al-Qaida or Hamas, or any of the other 15-plus offshoot terrorist groups? Does it matter? I’m sorry, but radical Islam is becoming the rule, not the exception. Yesterday’s moderate is today’s terrorist.

I care that this SOB killed four of our United States Marines, and I care that our Commander in Chief is more concerned with Muslim sensitivity than the honor and sacrifice made by these Marines. Do I care that he seemed like an all-American young man? Do I care that he was good at mixed martial arts or a smart quiet guy? Do I care that his high school friends would not classify him as ‘overly religious’? No, I don’t give a flying you-know-what about any of that. Let’s show them what the United States of America looks like up close and personal. Show them what they’re messing with. Put the fear of God in their desert, because clearly our lack of strategy isn’t working.”

Tomi, who comes from a military family and is dating a Navy SEAL who’s currently serving in the Middle East, originally applied to the network as an intern after graduating from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, according to the Daily Mail. She never thought she would actually land an anchor’s position so soon at the young age of 22. However, the network urges people to not be biased against her based on her age.

One American News Network, the San Diego-based cable news channel that launched in 2013, released a statement following Friday’s episode of On Point with Tomi Lahren, calling her show the “newest political talk show.”

“Tomi is the youngest show host in the political talk arena. Don’t let her age fool you, she knows her stuff and appreciates both like-minded and opposing voices,” the statement read. “On Point with Tomi Lahren is the newest political talk show on One America News Network. The show is an even platform for news discussion from all sides of the political spectrum, providing a fresh analysis of the issues facing our nation in an open and informative dialogue.”

Martin O’Malley was booed off the stage at Netroots Nation 2015 because he said “All lives matter.” He was booed off the stage because he didn’t say “Black lives matter.” Saying that all lives matter is actually considered offensive to some because it apparently symbolizes white supremacy or something. WINDOWS 10

Is WIN 10 a Con?

FORBES Update July 17th - Microsoft has now updated its lifecycle support page to list Windows 10. It states the end of Mainstream Support as October 13, 2020 and the end of Extended Support (security) as October 14, 2025. This is great news and I think these time periods are fair and inline with previous Windows releases.

Is This A Two Year Con? So what does “two to four years” mean? Is it two or is it four? In light of no official clarification from Microsoft the slides can help – if not result in formal conclusions. In a change of language Microsoft states device lifetime will be determined by “customer type” whereas it had previously stated it would be determined by “form factor”. This may prove crucial. For example ....[FULL]
Windows 10 is famously ‘free’, but Microsoft has been worryingly silent about just how free it really is. Now, only 17 days before release, leaks suggest ‘free’ Windows 10 might not be a good deal at all…

The news comes from ComputerWorld which attained Microsoft internal slides that strongly suggest many Windows 10 owners will have to start paying to receive updates within two years. The key lines ComputerWorld discovered are:

“Revenue allocated is deferred and recognized on a straight-line basis over the estimated period the software upgrades are expected to be provided by estimated device life…. [The estimated device life] can range from two to four years.”

‘Device life’ is the key phrase here. Microsoft has already stated revenue earned from Windows 10 must be deferred because of the free upgrade model (cash isn’t taken upfront), but it repeatedly stressed Windows 10 owners can expect to get free updates for the “supported lifetime of the device”.

The problem is Microsoft hadn’t defined how long the ‘supported lifetime of the device’ will be and now we see it: “two to four years”.

I just went through the drill of reinstalling Windows 8 from scratch.  The very first ADVICE I received from Microsoft was to start preparing for Win 10.  I know some rich person out there is about to junk their 27-inch iMac for a 30-inch, so instead of throwing it away, why not send it to me?  And get your own parking space here?

Baby, it's cold outside - Pycrete

"Our tests soon confirmed Mark and Hohenstein's results. Blocks of ice containing as little as four percent wood pulp were weight for weight as strong as concrete; in honor of the originator of the project, we called this reinforced ice "pykrete". When we fired a rifle bullet into an upright block of pure ice two feet square and one foot thick, the block shattered; in pykrete the bullet made a little crater and was embedded without doing any damage. My stock rose, but no one would tell me what pykrete was needed for, except that it was for Project Habakkuk." Wiki

Yet another amazing thing that I have heretofore never heard of.  First thing that pops in me brain is to build a huge Pycrete island somewhere in the arctic (people do live in the arctic, right?).  The advantage would be that this island would be an independent nation, ruled by me.  Which means there would by very few rules.  One would be that anyone trying to tax anything, or ban musical chairs, would be thrown off the island. Literally.

I will be making me some Pycrete, and will publish my experiments with it.  One will be to make a slab of it to keep in the freezer so that during power outages nothing thaws.    Stay tuned.

Psst - want an undamaged liver???

Planned Parenthood's Mustache

“I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium—the head—is basically the biggest part.” Nucatola explains, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below ...”
For decades, our elected officials and political leaders have indulged the polite fancy that conservatives and liberals both have similar, good-natured wishes for America at heart, with but honest, good-faith disagreements about the best policy means to achieve those shared ends.

It’s time for that happy horsecrap to end.

In case you missed it, Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Services was caught on tape (released today) essentially admitting to the sale (by Planned Parenthood affiliates) of aborted baby parts. Some troglodyte liberals initially suggested that the video was edited unfairly, a curious defense in light of the fact that PPFA wasn’t making this claim themselves. The full video was released this afternoon which indicates why – there is no way to interpret the full interaction in any other light. As LifeNews notes, some of the film’s “greatest moments” include highlights like these:
[FULL]

There's only so many times you can say the country is broken, or say the abortion industry is not just for fun, or say that anyone who votes for Democrats at any levelmight just as well be open the next can of Zyklon B for these slimebags.

  • Pope Francis Confesses He Knows Little about the Economy

In a striking series of admissions, Pope Francis told journalists on the flight back to Rome from Paraguay that he has an aversion to the economy, which he does not understand very well, and that he has neglected the middle class. On the plane, journalists asked the Pope his opinion of the economic situation in Greece and its relation to the rest of the European Union. Francis responded that he has “a great aversion” to the economy because his father was an accountant and used to bring his work home with him on the weekends. “I don’t understand it very...

And that's how babies are made!

Our granddaughter entertained the assembled family yesterday with her explanation of life, which she figured out after much pondering.  I am not making this up.

It all starts when a girl kisses a boy.  The boy's spit has fertilizer and it gets into a  small hole in her tongue.  When she swallows  the egg goes into her stomach where it grows for two months. Then the baby comes out of her privacies.

Oh.  The reason girls can't show their na-nays, but boys can, is because the girl's na-nays contain milk and she can't let it get stolen.  Boys don't have milk in their na-nays, so they don't have to hide them.
