This begs the question ... I assume this is authentic. It appears the right engine and wing area took the hit. Note the camera operator is able to record the moment of impact in the first 2 seconds of this clip. Note the smoke burst left behind on impact with the #2 engine area. There is an 18 second delay (speed of sound delay) due to the distance and altitude of the explosion. Note that the pilots are maintaining wings level, the airplane and burning wing still intact, in what appears to be an uncontrolled descent from 33,000 feet when the video ends at 1+19sec. This begs the question, how did they know it was there? Obviously someone was monitoring the sky with radar & someone said "shoot it down".     * This is not the action of a bunch of Russian sympathizing Eukranian civilians.     * This is the action of trained professionals (soldiers?) The question is not only where did the missile come from, but who was operating the search radar and who has the authority to approve or order the attack.  Question Primo: how did this video operator know to have his camera running just prior to the missile explosion? Dionne.  What then is he doing on Investor Business Daily's editorial page?  I could scarcely handle Al Hunt's Thursday WSJ  OP Ed rants back in the day, and Dionne, while not as smarmy as Hunt, actually believes in the crap he writes (I don't think Hunt believed in anything). In his IBD column,  Dionne challenges the "lie" that Democrats are running like hell away from Obamacare.  He cites (the soon to be ex) Sen. Russ Feingold,  and a few others.  Good.  Who cares?  I know what you're saying.  But Rodge, do we want to be like Democrats,  and embargo ideas that offend us?"  Yes.  I want to reach that point again where these commie turds have to go to tiny coffee houses to find  receptive ears.  I want state legislatures to threaten funding if  leftist professors are hired (as Maryland did in the 1960s).  I want an environment where television news executives blacklist leftists because the public demands it (as Hollywood execs did in the 50s).  This is war. This is a condensed version.  I find it maddening that road maps like this exist, and go unseen, and unheeded.  I can't speak for public schools, but certainly parochial elementary schools were on top of the threat.  Pulp magazines like Treasure Chest were regularly distributed with our milk and cookies.  I was about to add that videos like Besmenov would also have been widely aired back then, but probably not. The Global Warming Bill passed by the House last night is landmark.  All solid scientific evidence, not to mention common sense, say there is no man caused global warming (in fact, that evidence suggests a coming mini ice age).  There are certainly some True Believers among them, but the vast majority of MOC know the truth.  So what this is, and always was about, is an in-your-face power grab by a socialist/fascist government, which will have unbridled authority over every aspect of American life  in the name of "Climate."  Property rights, manufacturing decisions,  consumer choice on any level - all at the whim of government.  If any semblance of this bill passes the Senate, the last remaining vestiges of American freedom and sovereignty are gone.  Eight Republicans defected, and they were the difference.  The three New Jersey Reps - Smith, LoBiondo and Lance, almost by themselves, gave Pelosi her victory.  Any four votes would have defeated the measure.  Sometimes throwing people out of office just doesn't seem adequate.
