How About This?
Fed Locks in ZERO Interest Rate for Two Years

This week's wild actions on Wall Street should serve as a stark reminder that few investors have any clue as to what is really going on beneath the surface of America's troubled economy. But this week did bring startling clarity on at least one front. In its August policy statement the Federal Reserve took the highly unusual step of putting a specific time frame for the continuation of its near zero interest rate policy.

Moving past the previously uncertain pronouncements that they would "keep interest rates low for an extended period," the Fed now tells us that rates will not budge from rock bottom for at least two years. Although the markets rallied on the news (at least for a few minutes) in reality the policy will inflict untold harm on the U.S. economy. The move was so dangerous and misguided that three members of the Fed's Open Market Committee actually voted against it. This level of dissent within the Fed hasn't been seen for years.  [Full]

Oh, look! A liberal is talking ... .

Oh, look! A liberal is talking about whether something can be "squared with the Constitution."

... here's Ian Millhiser at Think Progress writing under the headline 'The Eleventh Circuit’s Affordable Care Act Decision Cannot Be Squared With The Constitution.'

He proceeds to quote the text of the Commerce Clause. (Of course, he doesn't stop there, but goes on to claim that there's virtually no limit to what Congress can do in the name of regulating commerce as long as "it does not violate another textual provision of the Constitution." Note the use of the word "textual," as if he would limit those other constraints to what is written in particular text. The obvious hypo: Could Congress ban abortion using its commerce power? Millhiser? Millhiser? Millhiser? Millhiser?)  [Full Ann Althouse]

Eric Holder - A Liar's Liar

Barack Obama rejects calls for Eric Holder to resign

President Barack Obama has forcefully rejected calls for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over a controversial federal law enforcement operation that allegedly allowed hundreds of guns to flow to Mexican drug cartels. [Brietbart Full]

Holder

Eric Holder is Obama's Attorney General for precisely the same reason Hillary Clinton made him Janet Reno's "Go-To" guy ( United States Attorney for the District of Columbia) — he's a lap dog who will protect his liege at any cost.

A Federal district judge said today that Ira C. Magaziner, the chief architect of President Clinton's health plan, had given misleading testimony to the court, and he asked Federal prosecutors to determine whether the statements amounted to perjury or criminal contempt of court.

He referred the case to the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, Eric H. Holder, "for further development of the facts in order to determine whether a criminal offense has been committed."

In August, the Justice Department argued that "no contempt of court has occurred," and that "Mr. Magaziner's reputation has been unfairly maligned as a result of plaintiffs' baseless allegations."

[Architect of Health Plan Could Face Charges - December 22, 1994]

Not only did Magaziner commit perjury, but Hillary Clinton was present in the courtroom nodding her assent to those lies.  I've lost track of referrals to the DOJ for perjury, of damned near every person in the Clinton administration, but not one resulted in any action. It  took a special prosecutor to finally nail the Liar-in-Chief.  Holder is so corrupt he makes Janet Reno look like Thomas à Becket.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL

What's that word? Oh, right.
"Bitch-slapped"

-Chief Justice John Marshall Bitch-slaps an Unruly Fishwife

'The powers of the legislature are defined and limited; and that those limits may not be mistaken, or forgotten, the Constitution is written."

—Chief Justice John Marshall, writing in Marbury v. Madison (1803).

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals cites those prophetic words in its decision yesterday finding President Obama's individual health-care mandate unconstitutional, and they do seem more relevant than ever. The 2-1 opinion is another landmark in restoring the government of limited and enumerated powers that the Framers envisioned.
That is "breathtaking in its expansive scope," the court wrote. "The government's position amounts to an argument that the mere fact of an individual's existence substantially affects interstate commerce, and therefore Congress may regulate them at every point of their life. This theory affords no limiting principles in which to confine Congress's enumerated power."

In other words, if the government can impose this kind of "economic mandate"—if it can force individuals to enter contracts with private companies "from birth to death"—there are no longer limits on what it cannot do. "These types of purchasing decisions are legion," Judges Hall and Dubina write. [Full]

Rush predicted yesterday that Obama would continue to fund implemantion,  so that when it reaches the SCOTUS he can argure, "Look, we've already spent $2 trillion on it .... ."

PERRY IN - EPA OUT; There's no downside ...

Perry for President.

The climate skeptics can finally get excited about the 2012 election: Rick Perry, their candidate of choice, is about to officially throw his hat in the ring.

Perry calls global warming "all one contrived phony mess that is falling apart under its own weight." Unlike many of the other GOP presidential candidates, he hasn't expressed concern about climate change in the past, so he won't have to do any back-pedaling. [GRIST - a Beacon in the Smog]

Lisa Hymas of "Grist," the Guardian's Enviro-wacko network does warn  that
plugging your ears and going "la la la la" doesn't make global warming disappear. Perry's state is getting absolutely hammered by heat and the worst one-year drought in its recorded history.
Here's the thing about that, a thing I did not know.  Quoting Ms. Hymas.
Perry served as Al Gore's Texas campaign chair in the 1988 presidential race, just before switching his party allegiance from Democrat to Republican, but conservatives don't have to worry that Perry holds any residual affection for the former veep. "I've heard Al Gore talk about man-made global warming so much that I'm starting to think that his mouth is the leading source of all that supposedly deadly carbon dioxide," Perry said in 2007.

Jayzuz H Cripes!
Lisa, you ignorant slut.  AGW  Anthropogenic global warming ( man-made global warming!).  Get it?  Yes Earth  is undergoing climate change and has been 24/7 for 3½ billion years.  Man does not, and can not cause significant and lasting climate change.  We are piss-ants.  You've been played like a banjo by climate change charlatans>  That they are liars, crooks and carpet baggers has been proved.  As Algore is wont to say - that debate is over.

But that's not what this is about.  Politicians who jumped on the AGW bandwagon are, must-be, stupid or cynical or both.  Perry is neither.  Point: Perry.  But screw that.  It's another negative issue. If all the global warmists in the country drank Kool-Aid today, it wouldn't help the economy,  This will
Perry also prays for a rollback of EPA regulations: "Frankly I pray for the president every day," he recently told CBN News. "I pray for his wisdom. I pray that God will open his eyes. I wish this president would turn back the health-care law that's been passed, ask that his EPA back down all these regulations that are causing businesses to hesitate to spend money."

But Perry's efforts to hog-tie the EPA haven't stopped at prayer. Last year, his administration filed suit against the EPA to block the agency from regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The suit centered on claims that the so-called "Climategate" emails undermined climate science, though the whole Climategate faux-scandal has been thoroughly debunked.

Perry has also fought the EPA in defense of his state's "flexible" air-pollution permits for oil and chemical refineries. And last month, Perry lashed out against an EPA rule that calls for reducing power-plant emissions that drift across state lines, calling it "another example of heavy-handed and misguided action from Washington, D.C., that threatens Texas jobs and families."

That boys and girls will  get us rolling again.  Without lifting all EPA and other impediments to using all our resources, we are toast.  Perry for President.

Jacob Weisberg, a singlarly liberal man ...

The filthy left's summer of discontent
"Obama Is Too Good for Us."

Barack Obama's recent political difficulties have proved shattering to many of his erstwhile enthusiasts. One of them is Jacob Weisberg, editor of Slate.com, who in a column last week declared himself fed up—with America.

The lesson of the debt-ceiling deal, Mr. Weisberg sobbed, is that "there is no point trying to explain complex matters to the American people. The president has tried reasonableness and he has failed." A pithier expression of this lament was the headline of an online column by liberal Republican Charles Fried: "Obama Is Too Good for Us."

Jacob Weisberg Agonistes

Weisberg is, as are all Liberals without exception,  arrogant, condescending, and as a consequence of  being cloistered from alternative viewpoints by choice, spectacularly ignorant if not stupid about anything more rigerous than choosing which color lapel ribbon to wear each day. Only more so.

One more clip from Taranto—
Mr. Weisberg thought he should have been, given the all-around awesomeness of the junior senator from Illinois. If Mr. Obama lost to John McCain, Mr. Weisberg concluded, it could mean only one thing: America was irredeemably racist.

You heard that a lot in those days ...  Just ask Drew Westen, who noted in a New York Times op-ed that Mr. Obama "had accomplished very little before he ran for president," that he "had a singularly unremarkable" academic career, "publishing nothing . . . other than an autobiography," and that as a state senator he "voted 'present' . . . 130 times."

Westen, a Democratic tactician, was spared the charge of racism only because he waited until this past Sunday to write that essay.

"I have a copy of the birth certificate. I will post this soon and then corroborating evidence barrack actually flew into Hawaii at 5 months of age with his parents. You see I figured out how to prove this because I obtained logs of flights from what was. PAN AM and there were only two airlines flying into Hawaii at that time. It was fairly easily once I found the archived records. This cover up involves major players in Hawaii and in the federal government. Believe or don't believe me I don't care. Obama was born in Kenya to father who was a communist agent trained in Moscow!"

This has an oder of agitprop poop, but if the logs are produced, and verified, that's that.

Could the Tea Party actually be Obama's salvation. No.

Could the Tea Party actually be Obama's salvation in 2012?
Salon's news editor
Steve Kornacki is creaming, er dreaming over the prospect

In other words, the possibility that he'll wind up a one-term president has never seemed so real. Economic anxiety is what motivates swing voters, and the more they feel it, the more eager they are to vote out incumbents. This is the rule that explains why Jimmy Carter lost his job in 1980 and why George H.W. Bush lost his in 1992, and there's no real reason to think it won't apply next year if the economy doesn't turn around.

Unless ... well, have you seen the latest poll on the Republican Party's image?

-

Let's put aside that this Kornacki chap would rely on CNN polling as basis for anything.  And forget that the NY Times just published a memorandum from Bill Clinton’s pollster Stanley Greenberg that warned :
  • Voters in the developed world are turning away from Democrats, Socialists, liberals and progressives.
  • Voters feel ever more estranged from government—and they associate Democrats with government.”
  • If they are to win trust, and votes, Democrats must show they are as determined as the Tea Party movement to change the rules of the game
  • This distrust of government and politicians is unfolding as a full-blown crisis of legitimacy [and] sidelines Democrats and liberalism."
Because CNN may be on to something, and Kornacki has  misinterpreted it. '

If  asked to identify myself as a Democrat, Republican or Independent, as my voter registration board does, I must respond Republican so  I can vote in the Republican primary.  Besides, I view "Independents" as Democrats in disguise to game the pollsters, or idiots who can't name either of their U.S. Senators.  But
I am one of these Republicans touted by CNN .

  • A lot of that anger seems directed toward the GOP.  According to the survey, favorable views of the Republican party dropped eight points over the past month, to 33 percent. Fifty-nine percent say they have an unfavorable view of the Republican party, an all-time high dating back to 1992 when the question was first asked.

I want every establishment Republican defeated in 2012.  But, I certainly don't want them replaced by Democrats.  Egad!  I want them replaced by Tea Party candidates with an established public record of being conservative.  I will bet money that a good chunk of the "Republicans" cited  in that poll want the same thing.

Joe Nocera's Cancer

NY Times Vet Recounts His Insular World:
Didn't Meet Any Republicans Until Well Into Adulthood

Growing up in heavily Democratic Providence, R.I., in the 1950s, it was hard not to absorb the values of the Democratic Party — the party of Roosevelt, as my parents often reminded me, who had gotten the country through the Great Depression. My parents and their friends believed in a progressive income tax, in the importance of unions (my parents were public schoolteachers), and in a government that helped those who couldn’t help themselves. It wasn’t until I moved to Washington after college that I got to know any Republicans. Not until I was nearing 30, and living in Texas, did I see how conservative most of the country truly is.
Joe Nocara - another Liberal asshat

Joe Nocera states that he learned that  it was important for liberals to criticize various wrongheaded tenets of liberalism.  He once wrote a story about out of control teacher unions that was so strong that his teacher mother complained to the editor.  "I came to see myself as a pragmatist who favored common-sense solutions over ideology," says Joe. So this newest New York Times OP-Ed writer will act as a counter balance to the paper's band of left-wingnuts?  No. Good intentions will not, can not, overcome a life of Libthink.

Then came the financial crisis. I like to joke that there’s nothing like a good financial crisis to turn you into a liberal. But it’s not really a joke. The more I learned the back story that led to the crisis, the more horrified I became. The lack of regulation and oversight of Wall Street and the big subprime companies like Countrywide, driven by the ideology of deregulation, was thoughtless and irresponsible. The refusal of bank regulators to stop subprime abuses bordered on the criminally negligent ... That anger reached its apex on Tuesday, when I wrote a column comparing the Tea Party Republicans to terrorists.

Sorry Joe. Liberalism is harder to treat than pancreatic cancer. (See story below, Joe)

Democrats on a roll

A new poll shows a closer-than-expected special election contest for the open seat in New York’s strongly Democratic 9th Congressional district. Five weeks before voters in the Queens- and Brooklyn-based district go to the polls, Democratic state Assemblyman David Weprin led Republican businessman Robert Turner 48 percent to 42 percent in a Siena College poll.

A twist in the short race came in late July when former New York Mayor Ed Koch (D) endorsed Turner. Koch said that a vote for the Republican would serve as a reprimand to President Barack Obama for his stance on Israel. [Roll Call]

In the meanwhile,  the brainiacs who gave us Obamacare and bankruptcy announced a sequel to their 2009 copy of the Tea Party.  Remember?

This new Pee-Party II movement [Liberal groups aim for counter-punch to Tea Party] have released the Contract from the American Dream, a response to the Tea Party-crafted Contract from America, and a reprise of Pelosi's 2006 "Contract on America." Here's your "American Dream."

Conquering the Storm

Conquering the Storm

I could beat old blue lips
Relax - From November 11, 2010

In the coming days we’ll sort through the repercussions of S&P’s downgrade of our credit rating, including concerns about the impact a potential interest rate increase would have on our ability to service our suffocating $14.5 trillion debt.

I’m surprised that so many people seem surprised by S&P’s decision. Weren’t people paying attention over the last year or so when we were getting warning after warning from various credit rating agencies that this was coming? I’ve been writing and speaking about it myself for quite some time.

Back in December 2010, I wrote: “If the European debt crisis teaches us anything, it’s that tomorrow always comes. Sooner or later, the markets will expect us to settle the bill for the enormous Obama-Pelosi-Reid spending binge. We’ve already been warned by the credit ratings agency Moody’s that unless we get serious about reducing our deficit, we may face a downgrade of our credit rating.” And again in January, in response to President Obama’s State of the Union address I wrote: “With credit ratings agency Moody’s warning us that the federal government must reverse the rapid growth of national debt or face losing our triple-A rating, keep in mind that a nation doesn’t look so ‘great’ when its credit rating is in tatters.”

One doesn’t need a Harvard Law degree to figure this out! Just look across the pond at Europe. European nations with less debt and smaller deficits than ours and with real “austerity” plans in place to deal with them have had their ratings downgraded. By what magical thinking did we figure we could run up perpetual trillion dollar deficits and still somehow avoid the unforgiving mathematics of a downgrade? Nothing is ever “too big to fail.” And there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Didn’t we all learn that in our micro and macro econ classes? I did at the University of Idaho. How could Obama skip through Columbia and Harvard without learning that?

Many commonsense Americans like myself saw this day coming. In fact, in June 2010, Rick Santelli articulated the view of independent Tea Party patriots everywhere when he shouted on CNBC, “I want the government to stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! STOP SPENDING!”  [Full Conquering the Storm]

"I made the birth certificate image that was given to the media at the White House press conference held on April 27, 2011"

-

Snopes.com, in an June 2008 article, posted the Obama short-form certificate after it had been first published by DailyKos.com June 12, 2008, and by the Obama campaign website FightTheSmears.com.

When Snopes.com posted Polland's fake document, he took a screen shot of the Snopes.com website, showing that the link to the Obama document was the URL at which Polland had posted his forgery. Exhibit 3 shows the Snopes.com website attempting to "debunk" what it considered the false claim that the Obama short-form birth certificate was a forgery.

From my viewpoint the entire Obama birth certificate claim, that these documents are real, defies all  logic.  What we have here is an apparently complete and well documented claim that "expert" Ron Polland, Ph.D created the COLB  that was released by DailyKos.com (ahem) during Obama's campaign.  He also claims to have set a trap by creating the recently released long form.  I haven't spent much time on this yet, but  Polland has published an "e-Book, Alias Barack Obama: The Greatest Identity Fraud in History that covers his three-year investigation into the life and background of Barack Hussein Obama, and the mystery of his online birth certificate."

Chapter II: Fact-checking media fraud introduces you to the new breed of online political analysts known as “nonpartisan political fact checkers.” They claim to be “consumer advocates” who “sort out the truth in politics,” yet they are really leftwing propagandists launching attacks against Obama’s opponents and critics while ensuring that Obama would be elected, his policies enacted, and his false identity protected.

The role they played in manipulating the outcome of the Presidential election cannot be overstated: by hiding Obama’s true identity and political ideology to influencing public opinion in favor of his liberal leftwing legislation to shielding his activities from scrutiny.[Post & Mail]

Curiously that just released "Post and Mail" interview  makes no mention of Polland's authorship of the COLB or long form.  Bolstering his story however,  is the reaction to legitimate threat one expects from Obamunists: the ad hominem attack" He is a lying sack of shit;" with links to the usual suspects who debunk Polland with proof like "Politifact validated the information."

The only proof that will satisfy me at this point are the arrest, trial, conviction and sentencing of those involved in  overthrowing the United States government.  Which is what happened here.
