Axelrod not only asshat getting stuffed

Smoking Cigar Here Boss  Res Ipsa Loquitur

I  was drawn to the New York Times by Drudge's link to Axelrod’s Anti-Romney Message Gets Drowned Out, which turned out to be quite delicious. While it's way too early for me to go looking for this crap, there was an electoral map on the page, so I clicked it.  It took a millisecond for the mind to balance that sea of red against an Obama lead (217-206), but it did after noticing that the "Leaning Republican" states were very, very doable for Romney, and the sea of undecided votes held more than enough catchable fish.  I am officially declaring the race over.  Then, clicking on "The Race For the Senate"  link brought more  deliciousness.— even without Massachusetts, which is called a "toss-up" state.

Senator Scott P. Brown, a Republican, stunned the political class two years ago when he won a special election to fill the seat of the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy. His re-election bid is a critical piece of the Republican plan to win control of the Senate. He faces a strong challenge from Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard professor, who became a champion to Democrats when she set up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the Obama administration.

On his show yesterday, former governor of New York David Paterson suggested Barack Obama could be ineligible for the Oval Office but “got away” with it.

“Even if he wasn’t born in the United States at this point,” Paterson said. “It’s kind of like he got away with it.”

He continued, “A lot of people get away with a lot of things.”

Paterson compared Obama’s actions to those of President Richard Nixon.

The Missionary

   At The Cinema

The Missionary

There's every reason why you may have missed The Missionary. For starters, it's British, and was made in 1982.  But look at this cast.
  • Michael Palin as The Reverend Charles Fortescue
  • Maggie Smith as Lady Isabel Ames
  • Trevor Howard as Lord Henry Ames
  • Denholm Elliott as The Bishop
Fortescue is a missionary returning from Africa after a ten year religious mission to wed his sweetheart who refuses to be touched. His new assignment is to minister to the prostitutes of London. The movie is played dead-pan, and it's more a series of skits than an in depth comedy period piece; and the ending is rather abrupt and unsatisfying.  So what,  it's all great fun.  The Ame's butler especially cracked me up.  I watched it on NetFlix instant.

Would you like to play a neat parlor game with your friends?

Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate forgery contains so many forger's errors which are visible to the naked eye or which can be seen on your computer under slight magnification that you can play a fun game finding them, either alone or in a contest with your friends.  It's similar to the arcade game Whac-A-Mole, where you pound a mechanical mole back into its hole before it disappears on its own and randomly reappears in another one of the five holes in the game.

Well, I guess that's the end of that ...  —

A Financial Times article, about Donald Trump's refusal to let the birther argument die, focuses on "the Republican establishment’s unease with Mr Trump’s involvement in the race,"  and cites "conservative commentator George Will called the billionaire a “bloviating ignoramus”.  And all this ...

...  despite Mr Obama’s decision last year to release his long-form birth certificate issued by the state of Hawaii, an effort to put paid to any remaining speculation that he, like his father, was born in Kenya.

NEW OLD INK

An intelligence source in Hawaii who warned early last year that a forged Obama birth record would be released now says that amid continued doubts about the authenticity of the document posted on the White House website, a forged “original” birth certificate intended to pass forensic inspection by using 1961 materials is being prepared and could be released as an “October surprise.

The Hawaii source said ink and paper from 1961 have been secured to create an “original” document that would correspond with the digital copy posted on the White House website. [WND]

UT Caves to Islamo Threats

The Center for Middle Eastern Studies at UT Austin was planning to publish the book in honor of the late American scholar Elizabeth Fernai, a professor there whose life and work were focused on the Middle East.

At first, novelist Huzama Habayeb was delighted to contribute as one of fifteen Arab writers. But that turned to “horror,” as a Gulf News editorial put it, when she realized that the collection would also feature two Israeli women...  Habayeb withdrew her manuscript, complaining to the Center that Israel is an “occupier” of her land “Palestine” – although she was born in Kuwait, raised in Jordan, lives in Dubai, and has never set foot in Israel

The university accepted her withdrawal but moved forward with plans to publish. Taken aback by this, Habayeb determined to ban the book altogether. She urged other Arab contributors to withdraw their manuscripts. A friend, Egyptian novelist Radwa Ashour who is married to a Palestinian poet, was the first to go along. Then others got onboard. I believe this incident is symbolic of the threat Islam poses to any culture it manages to infest. A commenter summed it up nicely.

.Behind all last minute "back outs" by Muslims one will find C.A.I.R., the biggest enemy of free speech in America. They read them the riot act and "convince" Muslims to back out so that the book or the program never sees the light of day. All "truth" must come from the C.A.I.R. fiction machine.

Journalism 1

Why are there Journalism schools?  Srsly.  I'm of the opinion that the best schooling a cub reporter wannabe can get  is old school.   Hired as a copy boy.  Treated brutally by no nonsense city editor.  Gets chance to write obituaries; advances to police beat. Breaks story on mayor and chief of police white slavery ring. Wins Pulitzer Prize.  Hired by even bigger city paper.   Right?

I took a  journalism class in college.  I wanted to try it because it was the only major without a math requirement.  I didn't know it at the time, but I learned everything a journalism school can actually impart
—   on the first day.  The Five Ws.
Res Ipsa Loquitur
  • Who is it about?
  • What happened?
  • When did it take place?
  • Where did it take place?
  • Why did it happen?
In that order.  "Accuracy" didn't start with "W," but it was understood to be critical.  Once.  You cannot learn more without going on a beat.

So, why journalism degrees?  Partly, I think, a conceit by newspapermen to present themselves as "professionals."  In practical terms, what's happened is journo schools, of which Columbia is a flagship,  have become the gatekeepers of who gets hired in the industry.  If you're the editor of the (usually off-campus) conservative paper, you don't get in.  Since all journo schools are staffed and run by, for all practical purposes, the American Communist Party, that discipline becomes ingrained.   After Theodore White wrote "Making of a President 1960," The Five W's were replaced by a liberal-lie stir-fry; your waiter's job— to instruct, "here's what it all means you stupid clot." And we are.

The Radical Networks ... .

OBAMUNISM, The Party,
The Radical Networks That Must Be Defeated to Save America

Res Ipsa Loquitur

Rodger, ever heard of this:Red Army: The Radical Network That Must Be Defeated to Save America

In this original investigative work, the bestselling authors of The Manchurian President expose one of the most important untold stories of the decade: how a nexus of radical socialist groups have seized political power, shaped Obama’s presidential agenda, and threaten the very future of our country.

For decades, a radical socialist movement has been quietly infiltrating the major institutions of American power: our schools, our military, our economy, our media, and Congress itself. This ... progressive Red Army is an organized network consisting of numerous specialized groups that target specific policy areas while cooperating more broadly in a concerted decades-long campaign to transform America.

Now, for the first time, investigative reporters Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott not only expose the key players, organizations, and relationships in this radical network but chart their spheres of influence, their nefarious objectives, their role in shaping Barack Obama’s agenda, and their long-term plans for the nation.

Among some of their finds, Klein and Elliott reveal the existence of a powerful “Marxist-socialist” bloc in Congress (explicitly formed as an arm of the Democratic Socialists of America) and examine its far-reaching goals in policy areas that affect all Americans, including the complete socialization of health care and comprehensive immigration reform, which seeks to change the very nature of the American electorate. The authors expose the shocking misinformation campaign behind Obama’s economic policies, discussing the crafting of the massive “stimulus” legislation, as well as his plans for future economic “reform.”

In two chapters that every American must read, entirely new information is laid bare on the left’s unprecedented assault on our already over-liberalized education system. And in just one astonishing discovery, Klein and Elliott bring to light how federal stimulus money was used to fund an education group tied to radical educator (and unrepentant Pentagon bomber) Bill Ayers.

The authors also expose the multipronged policy offensive aimed at disarming America by emboldening our enemies within and without, spurning traditional allies, subjecting us to the authority of foreign tribunals, and systematically dismantling the U.S. military. The authors also detail how elements of the news media not only collude with these radical groups, but are in some cases members of the very same extremist organizations they ought to be investigating.

This radical network runs far deeper than the Obama administration and, if not stopped, will far outlast his presidency. From health care and manufacturing to immigration and environmental policy, Red Army documents how these radical groups are working to spread America’s wealth and transform the country into their vision of a socialist utopia.

Res Ipsa Loquitur

We're aware of  the establishment left's penchant for advising the GOP on winning election strategy,  which is what the WaPost has here endeavored to do (The right running mate for Romney)

[...] Christie would not transform New Jersey into a presidential swing state — a persistent but hopeless Republican dream. But he could contribute to the repositioning of the Romney campaign in two important, seemingly contradictory ways. Christie would provide an infusion of blue-collar combativeness, which is foreign to Romney and pleasing to GOP conservatives. At the same time, Christie would represent a move to the ideological center. He is not a global warming skeptic. He supported an assault weapons ban in his state. He is an immigration moderate and has friendly relations with New Jersey’s Muslim community. [...]

First: *snort, spit*.
Second. There is truth in Michael Gerson's argument.  Christie's combativeness against New Jersey's embedded unions sent shills up my, and Ann Coulter's, legs.  She has yet to fully shake them off.  In an era of equivocating political pussies, Christie is a breath of, well, Ronald Reagan.  His stance on global warming, however,  exposes him as being either a rank political horse trader, insufferably stupid, or both.  Add "supported assault weapons (semi-auto hunting rifles) ban, immigration moderate (there is no such thing) and  friendly relations with an intractable enemy, and you have Mario Cuomo. I fully expect that Christie will one day run for office as a democrat.

Will the 1991 Biography Discovery Force Obama to Open the Hood?

If you have a young boy, you've probably watched Disney's Cars 2 about a thousand times.  For those who don't know, at the movie's end (an obligatory spoiler warning here), Sir Miles Axlerod is exposed as a fraud when he's forced to open his hood by Mater, the hayseed hick.  Hold that thought.

Res Ipsa Loquitur
Three possibilities follow the bombshell discovery that Barack Obama was promoted in 1991 through 2007 by his professional agency as an author "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."  (1) Obama untruthfully presented himself as Kenya-born.  (2) Obama untruthfully presents himself as Hawaii-born.  (3) Obama had no knowledge that his bio contained the 16-year-old "error" which was corrected in April of 2007, when Obama was gearing up his campaign for the U.S. presidency.

Of the three possibilities, number three may be discarded on its face as absurd.  [...]
Prior to the Breitbart bombshell, we had countless oddities and anomalies.  There's the African folklore: African newspapers, officials, and paternal family members have indicated that Obama was born in Mombasa.  There are no living witnesses to Obama's Hawaii birth.  There's the island state with a documented history of registering foreign births as Hawaiian.

The Great Buck Howard  (2008) drew my attention because ... how could I have missed even hearing about a film starring John Malkovich and Tom Hanks?  But, hell, it could have won 10 Academy Awards, and I wouldn't have known it. As it turns out, Tom appears in the movie, one must assume,  to give a boost to son Colin's first (?) major acting job; he plays the father of Buck's road manager (Colin).  Malkovich plays mentalist Buck Howard, a character loosely based on, we learn in the movie credits,  the Amazing Kreskin.  I watched in bits and starts at first, but then that's how I watch most things.  Last night I was in a mood to pay attention, and was pulled in to it.  In fact, I ended up giving it 4 NetFlix stars (I really like it). It was fun, had a fun ending, and Malkovich was Malkovich.  PG

[...] The school board unanimously approved the program late Tuesday but, in a rarity for Northside trustees, they hotly debated it first, with some questioning it on privacy grounds.

Obama's EEOC Goes After Coffee Chain For Hiring Too Many Attractive Women
A plot right out of Seinfeld

Res Ipsa Loquitur

Start laughing.

Back during the Clinton years the EEOC went after Hooters for its alleged hiring bias (we all remember how hard Bill Clinton was on women . . . uh, let me re-phrase that). Hooters refused to hire men to wear the infamous “orange short-shorts and white tank-top” ensemble. The EEOC spent four years pressuring them to hire male waiters, which would have ruined the Hooters concept.

Hooters tried reasoning and logic. As one would expect when dealing with bureaucrats, they failed miserably. So Hooters turned to anther weapon: mockery.

They put up billboards showing what a hairy, beer-bellied guy would actually look like in Hooters garb. They took out newspaper ads showing a bearded guy in a blonde wig and Hooters T-shirt saying “Come on, Washington. Get a grip.”

It worked. The EEOC stayed just as stupid — still insisting that Hooters was doing something wrong — but it became clear that if they kept pushing the stupidity, Congress might step up and take away some of their power. So the EEOC “quietly ended its investigation,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

Today, dimwit EEOC attorneys in yet another Democratic administration are at it again — this time in Massachusetts. [Full]

Here's some top comments from FR

The EEOC can pursue this kind of BS, but then turns a blind eye when Elizabeth Warren lies about being a minority and uses her phony “minority” status to advance her career. Perhaps if the girls at this coffee chain described themselves as being ugly because their mother’s told them so the EEOC wouldn’t have a problem.
