Ugh (Roll Over Horrid Newt) I'm not sure how I feel about Newt winning South Carolina, but it's not terrible.  What I find most gratifying is how and why he won it.  By energizing  the conservative base when he slammed John King for opening the last debate with a question about his wife.  The crowd went wild; the video went viral.  Sarah Palin immediately sensed it, saying his performance would help him" “soar even more”   It was Ronald Reagan asserting  "This is my microphone, I paid for it" during the Nashua primary debate in 1980, (a line  purloined from Spencer Tracy in "State Of The Union," when his character was about to be cut off in debate.  A defining moment for Reagan.   It was Vice President Spiro Agnew during a televised speech in 1969, calling  the press "nattering nabobs of negativism" and war critics  "an effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as 'intellectuals.'"  America went nuts, and the press ducked for cover.  This is vintage 1992 Newt, going for the throat of a corrupt Democrat House of Representatives.  He was unparalleled.  I only hope he, if elected, doesn't become 1994 Newt, all coiffed, gushy, and wanting to be loved by everyone.Or, God forbid, 2010 Newt, who promoted man caused global warming with Nancy Pelosi (stab me in the liver). Aside- Speaking of the movie "State of the Union," here's the speech every politician could, and should, make tomorrow. We'd all be better for it.

Readers will also recall that ACORN activists have long been involved in voter registration fraud, either directly or through its Project Vote affiliate. At least 70 ACORN/Project Vote employees have been convicted of voter registration fraud in a dozen states since 2006. According to a 2009 House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform report, approximately a third of the 1.2 million new registrations turned in by the two groups in 2008 were fraudulent. It's a turnaround from the rest of the immigration issue, where the federal government has sued to block the state's own set of laws.

When a fighter lands on an aircraft carrier an arrestor cable catches the hook on the back of the aircraft, preventing it from overshooting and ditching into the sea. The documents warn of "major consequences" to the aircraft’s structure and cast doubt on the readiness of the JSF to provide close-air support, which is seen as critical to a carrier’s role in providing amphibious landings. The national election is simply a compilation of the results of the individual elections within states.  State law also grants the secretary of state and any “elector who is eligible to vote for a candidate” in the state the authority to raise a challenge to a candidate’s qualifications, the judge determined.  His lawyers ought be fined by the judges for willfully employing rope-a-dope in this, by now, farcical effort to save Obama's ass.

Can We Turn it Around?

Can America Turn It Around? History proves we can, but we are saddled by a new caveat. (This is Part One of a three-part series.)

Reagan was able to tap into the deep reservoir of optimism in the American psyche, a reservoir many feared had long since dried up.  [Part on of three - Can America Turn It Around?] ” In this first part Matt Patterson seems to pin our hopes on the emergence of an exceptional leader.  But, he  acknowledges that "there is no one of such caliber among our political class today — left or right — nor does there appear to be one waiting in the wings."  To make things tougher still— “ 2.
