Oh My

Campus Idiots For Obama

                      —   you berks.

I can’t resist this delicious piece of video from an Obama rally at a Ohio university from our friends at Revealing Politics. The way Kelly Maher tells it, this endeavor started innocently as a project to determine whether rank-and-file Obama supporters had bought the line about Benghazi being caused by a YouTube video. As you’ll see, none of them is even capable of buying a line. [FULL-HOT AIR]

I guess their political science professors didn't discuss this in class.  A very good guess.  And it's not because they're stupid.  I have people just like them in my universe.  People who, in all other regards might be described a brilliant.  But when it comes to politics, their minds have just surrendered to dark forces.  Unfortunately, my response is more, "how stupid are you?" than trying reason.  Like I once would have.   But can't anymore.  Don't be like me.  Keep trying to reason with them.  Even if they act like the dumbest people on God's Earth.  Goddammit!  They've kilt us all.

Vice President Joe Biden issued a warning to an audience today referencing Paul Ryan’s book Young Guns. "The bullets are aimed at you," said Biden.

"I don't understand how they believe, and they do believe: Ryan has written a book called The Young Guns with two other fellows, members of the House," said Biden. "No, these are the Republican leaders in the House ... Unfortunately, the bullets are aimed at you."

Res Ipsa Loquitor This is unfathomable, or would have been a few decades ago.  We've read for four years about Obama's use of thug tactics reminiscent of a certain 1930's  group called "Brown Shirts."  My take has been that, while Obama's tactics imitate National Socialism, his focus on creating racial division is out of Charles Manson's playbook—"HELTER SKELTER"  Let's hope the bastid's hold over his followers will dissipate before stuff burns, which is what  I think Obama wants.

The Magazine's recent article about the Britishisation of American English prompted readers to respond with examples of their own - here are 30 British words and phrases that you've noticed being used in the US and Canada.

(like these)
Bloody, adj. and adv. An intensifier: absolute, downright, utter. Sometimes in a negative sense
Cheeky, adj. Insolent or audacious in address; coolly impudent or presuming.
Frock, n. A girl's or woman's dress.
Knickers, n. An undergarment for women covering the lower trunk and sometimes the thighs and having separate legs or leg-holes
Shag, v. To copulate with. "You guys missed the best one. 'Shag'

Full List

I can attest to this.  Because I've watched at least one "Top Gear" episode every day for well over a year (I'm on my 4th run through the series), I've taken to using words like Boot (car trunk), Bonnet (car hood), Pillock (stupid, annoying person); Lot (group, as in "that lot"), Twat ( widely used as a derogatory epithet), and many more.

There's another aspect to Britishisms, one that I've more or less, and quite  consciously adopted.  That is to assign the plural to groups, organizations and corporations.  For instance, we are used to saying "Ford is introducing a new car."  Brits say,  "Ford are introducing a new car"

I think the Brits have it right, and it seems to roll off my tongue.  The problem comes when you're not consistent, which may cause the reader to think you're a  twat, as I'm sure you lot do me.  Well bugger off!
Sigh.

STFU Kerry

"If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually
all elected Democrats are liars, but what  the hell." TRKOF&S

LIARS: John Kerry

John Kerry: Romney "Perpetrating A Fraud On The American People"

"It's time to get really serious about what's on the table here with this choice. I'm perplexed. Mitt Romney, first of all, last night, in my judgment, was petulant. He was characteristically, expediently misleading. And I’m going to tell you exactly how. And I think people really need to stop. And you, Joe, you are, you know, I listen to your show. You career was based on trying to do something serious about the deficit. Mitt Romney is perpetrating a fraud on the American people," Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today.

Guys like Kerry astound me. "...perpetrating a fraud on the American people!"  Like, do they live in a vacuum?  There's an internet of information out there; a ton of it about Kerry. I guess like Obama, et.al., Kerry knows he's covered by the media, and unless they turn on him, his lies are truth.

April 18, 2004

Kerry emphatically tells Tim Russert on NBC's “Meet the Press”  that “people” could come on down to his campaign headquarters to eyeball his full file of military records.

Russert had asked Kerry if he would release his complete file, as President Bush did after Democrats raised questions about his service in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Kerry shot back to Russert’s request, “They are” – indicating the records were already released.

But Kerry has not realeased all his military records, only a small portion, and placed strict limitations on their examination.

Kerry now says his promise is null and void.  "Russert's dead; the deal is off" (I'm told)

  • We knew he lied to congress about his Vietnam experiences.
  • I know that  he was the head of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War on November 12-15, 1971, when the group voted on a motion to assassinate pro-war members of Congress.
  • We know when he famously "threw his medals away", in protest of the Vietnam war, they were someone else's medals.
  • We know that an overwhelming number of his fellow Swiftboaters call him a fraud, who nominated himself for medals he did not deserve.
  • We know that to this day he has not signed of on DOD and Dept/Navy releases so his military records  can be viewed (and prove he was not dishonorably discharged and stripped of his medals)
  • We know Kerry ran his own competing "peace  talks" with North Vietnam.  and with   Sandinista Daniel Ortega, in contravention of U.S. Law.
How's that for perpetrating fraud?

OBAMA WINS!

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Okay, mixed metaphors, but I couldn't resist.  Today Rush did an analysis of last night's debate.  I found this excerpt (of an excerpt) especially satisfying.  While  the lefty all-stars are crowing about Obama's victory, the touchdowns (or severed limbs) don't add up.

BLITZER:  Here are the results.  Forty-six percent say President Obama won the debate.  Thirty-nine percent say Governor Romney won the debate.  This poll shows it was basically a draw as far as those who actually watched the debate were concerned.

RUSH:  Well, what about those who weren't, Wolf?  What's the point?

BLITZER:  When we dig deeper into the numbers, we're seeing Romney did score points with viewers tonight.  Look at this.  Fifty-eight percent, 58% of debate watchers say Romney would better handle the economy.  Forty percent say President Obama would.  That's issue number one.  Forty-nine percent say Romney would better handle health care, compared to 46% for President Obama.  We also asked who would better handle the issue of taxes.  Fifty-one percent say Romney; 44% say President Obama.  Fifty-nine percent say Romney would do a better job on the deficit.  Thirty-six percent say President Obama would do a better job on the deficit.

RUSH:  That doesn't even sound close, does it?  I mean, that's pretty devastating.  So my question is, how do you get in the overall poll, 46 say Obama won the debate, 39 say Romney, and then you get those numbers?  Well, it's not even close.  It's 58-40 on the economy; it is 49-46 on health care; it's 51-44 taxes; and 59-36 on the deficit, all in favor of Romney, CNN poll.  Wolf depressed.  Then they bring in John King, who used to have his own show at CNN.  Did they get rid of John King for Client No. 9?  Was John King moved out for Eliot Spitzer or did Spitzer get moved out and King put in?  King is back to reporting now, and he says that if the numbers that Wolf just recited are true, then it's over.

  1. Then the polling data, flash polling comes in: not even close.  Here's Anthony Mason last night, CBS special coverage of the presidential debate.

MASON:  We asked those 500 uncommitted voters immediately after the debate, who do they think won?  Thirty-seven percent said President Obama, 30% said Governor Romney, about a third called the debate a tie in their eyes.  Here's where it gets interesting, though, is on the issue of the economy.  Who won the economy tonight?  Well, first of all, we asked which candidate would do a better job of handling the economy.  After the debate, 65% said Governor Romney, 34% said President Obama.

RUSH:  That's devastating.  CBS has their work cut out for them.  I do wonder.  I mean, their poll was 37-30 with 33 saying it's a tie.  CNN's was 46-39, but then you get into the internals, it's not even close.  So I guess when you say, "Who won the debate?" these people are judging it in its own separate universe, but then you get to the specifics of who's the better guy to deal with problems we got, it's Romney.  So that's that. This question was geared by Crowley to help President Obama among Hispanics
  • QUESTION: President Obama, during the Democratic National Convention in 2008, you stated you wanted to keep AK-47s out of the hands of criminals. What has your administration done or planned to do to limit the availability of assault weapons?
Precisely nobody outside the far left cares about this question. Nobody. [Full article]

Memo To Michelle: What A 'Huge Recovery' Looks Like

Res Ipsa Loquitor

A Washington, D.C., hip-hop station host asked Michelle to "in your words, tell us what you think the state of the union is in right now?"

Her answer: "I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right? Because of what this president has done."

We wholeheartedly agree with the first lady that the current state of the economy is the result of "what this president has done."
