Will, a Fox News contributor, said a “President Trump” with “no opposition” from a Republican-led Congress would be worse than a Hillary Clinton presidency with a Republican-led Congress. But, they've also given us Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.  Name a single instance where a Democrat president has appointed a justice who was not a far-left ideologue.  Here's a good comment I found on Free Republic. Grit your teeth and endure three or four new liberal young radical Supreme Court justices, who are just itching to impose liberalism on us at every turn?? (sarcasm) What is it that Will sees Trump doing that terrifies him more than a President Hillary?  Srsly. Is it Trump's  pledge to  enforce our borders?  His pledge to evict illegals?  His pledge to treat the radical Islamo threat with appropriate action (like deporting threats and limiting immigration?)  WHAT George? That aside, I am mindful of Mr Jefferson's instructions re: future generations: Every constitution, then, and every law, naturally expires at the end of nineteen years. If it be enforced longer, it is an act of force, and not of right. It may be said, that the succeeding generation exercising, in fact, the power of repeal, this leaves them as free as if the constitution or law had been expressly limited to nineteen years only. I have to admit then, that now, in my dotage, I am mostly about schadenfreude. I hate Barack Obamunist's  rule. Hell, I hate Barry's very presence in our country.  I hate what Left Liberals have done  to my country. Since we are all more or less shackled to our own life experiences for understanding, I am thus bound to a continued affirmation of what the "American Dream" means, and what my duties as a citizen are to protect the principles behind it. They do happen to be consistent with what  Americans have felt for a few hundred years.  I'm then also pretty much bound by honor to, at least see merit in William C. Bradford's solution (or at least his reasoning). And screw George Will. (I did say  schadenfreude)

SAVE US FROM PAUL RYAN AND THE KEMP BOYS After Paul Ryan helped Mitt Romney lose the 2012 election by doing the impossible -- losing a debate to Joe Biden -- he went on an intimate tour of poverty. It was a journey so personal, Ryan brought reporters, writers and documentary producers with him. Two years ago, Ryan bragged to a Catholic radio station: "I actually campaigned with Jack Kemp against a thing called Prop 187." So far, he's gotten one book and one documentary out of The Paul Ryan Intimate Poverty Tour -- we're still waiting for the tote bags -- and is currently promoting a major poverty-fighting initiative that he brainstormed during private moments of reflection, somehow captured by the press: "The Kemp Forum on Expanding Opportunity." Appropriately for an event named after Ryan's mentor, Jack Kemp, the forum will allow Ryan to showcase his deep concern for the poor without doing a thing to help them. This is the hallmark of the "empowerment" crowd. What matters is their own self-regard and favorable press notices, not accomplishing anything useful. In the 1996 vice presidential debate, Al Gore repeatedly praised Kemp for not being a racist -- unlike the rest of his party. After Gore called Kemp a "lonely voice" in the GOP, "who says we ought to be one nation," Kemp did not say: MY PARTY? YOUR PARTY HAS A FORMER KLAN MEMBER IN THE SENATE! YOUR FATHER VOTED AGAINST THE 1964 CIVIL RIGHTS ACT! YOUR PARTY DESTROYED THE BLACK FAMILY! No, Kemp's response was: "Well, I thank you, Al. I mean that very, very sincerely." “ Shots Fired The delays are designed to shield Democrats from voter retribution, at least as long as he's in office. When President Obama told Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in March 2012 that "after my election I have more flexibility," most assumed he was referring to foreign policy. It turns out Mr. Obama's ambitions weren't so limited. Earlier this week, Mr. Obama demonstrated his imperial flexibility again, delaying another important provision of the Affordable Care Act. For firms with 50-99 employees, the president waived until 2016 the requirement they provide health insurance or pay a fine. Also, companies with 100 or more workers can avoid most of the law's penalties if they provide coverage to at least 75% of their workforce. The House Energy and Commerce Committee says this is Mr. Obama's 22nd delay or modification of his signature law. Why did the president do this? Politics. Mr. Obama saw the firestorm that erupted last fall when Americans lost their health policies because their policies didn't conform to ObamaCare's requirement for "essential benefits" and other mandates. Based on a flurry of reports and estimates that have come out since October, Jim Angle of Fox News says that 6.2 million have lost their health coverage so far. (There is no hard number from the Department of Health and Human Services. They should lay their cards out on the table. The specific laws that Democrats like Williams want to use the Voting Rights Act to undo now are laws mandating photo ID at the voting booth — which Sensenbrenner claims to support. And, which heavy majorities of the American people support. And, which have been shown to increase minority voter turnout. Voter ID is sensible and especially critical in the border states, where vote brokering, identity theft and fraud are all too easy for even non-citizens to perpetrate. So if voter ID isn’t Sensenbrenner’s motivation for seeking to put several southern states back under federal receivership when they make even minute changes to voting regulations and laws, then what is? Why does the Wisconsin Republican believe that the “full power” of the Voting Rights Act is still necessary in the south? He should step out and explain publicly what he intends to do and why, and to which specific states. “ I don't watch NFL pre-season games, and I don't pay much attention to GOP primary stuff   Both are meaningless.  In the first instance, some teams experiment while others may go all out to win. The second,  I believe, is as scripted as an Obama media interview.  I have noticed a recent trend  from reading the Drudge page though.  A few days before any primary the headline is "[Santorum; Newt; etc] leads Romney by 12 in [State]. " And then Romney wins handily.  Make of that what you will.  This observation from Tam [Things I Don't Get, #349,723] also resonates, “ {...] Anyhow, there's a certain class of people who will read the paragraphs above and, like a knee tapped with a mallet, launch into a "Well, when you Libertarians can elect a dog catcher, then we'll take you seriously, until then..." This always sounds to my ears as "Well, our guys may be despicable turd-burglars, but at least they win elections!" and therefore makes absolutely no sense to me.  ” ”
